Chapter Six.
Charles's POV
*THE NEXT MORNING*
I looked at myself in the mirror, while I remembered all that happened yesterday, even though I was hungover at this point. I remembered how I went to the club because I was really heartbroken.
*FLASHBACKS*
"You should move on from her! It has been five years already; there are a lot of girls out there, and it is so obvious that she doesn't care about you. Do you expect her to go back to you after what you did to her? No reasonable human would do that." Bruce told me while I took another shot of the tequila that the barman had prepared.
"Yes Bruh! You have to move on. You have to move on. There are a lot of ladies that want you so bad, but you have been snubbing them so hard for the last few years." Tony added. To be honest, I didn't care about what they were saying.
I wouldn't change my mind that easily, no matter what. I would prefer to remain single forever than for me to get married to someone else apart from Erika.
Furthermore, I spotted David, who was kissing another girl who was in the club. That was not Erika. Out of anger, I stood up from where I was and then walked up to David. I took the cup that was filled with alcohol and poured it on his face.
"What do you think you are doing?" I brought out my phone, and took a picture immediately. The music that was at the club stopped playing, while a lot of people diverted their gaze towards us.
"What do you think you are trying to do? Why are you here?" David questioned me while he tried me to talk things out with me. I wasn't ready to listen to whatever he had to tell me
I didn't know when I used my fist to hit him right in the cheeks, and it turned into a massive issue last night.
*END OF FLASHBACKS*
I remembered how I also went to her house last night, while I kept on saying nonsense. I hit my head on regret after remembering all that happened.
*****
I was at the company sorting out a lot of things. It was really hectic for me; being a CEO was something that was really hard for me. My phone started ringing, but it was an unknown number.
Who must be ringing right now? I had to pick it up since it might be a very important call.
"Hello!" I said over the phone, and immediately I picked up the call. "Are you Sir Charles?" I heard that very familiar voice. I could recognize that voice anywhere, and I remembered that I gave her my number the last time that I went to her mom's company.
"Yes! What is the problem, Rose?" I questioned her after I heard how sad she sounded over the phone.
"I got into a fight with someone at school. Is it possible for you to come over? I don't want mommy to know about it." She told me while I sighed. "Sure, what is the name of your school?" I questioned her, and she answered me without even thinking twice.
I grabbed my car remote, and left my office immediately. I drove off at full speed to where her school was. Furthermore, I was led to the office of the principal while I saw Rose, who was there with two other students.
They really looked like students who got into fights with the way they were dressed. "Oh! You are Mr. Evans? I didn't know you were related to Rose." The principal said this after she saw that I had entered her office.
"What Led to the fight? I trust Rose, and she wouldn't do something like that. She wouldn't be the one to start a fight." That was the first thing that I said before the lady started talking.
I vouched for her, because I knew who her mom was. Her mom definitely brought her up in the right way; that was another reason why I knew that there was no way she could start the fight first.
"That was the reason why I called you. So that we could hear from both parties." She added. "I didn't mean to start the fight first. They were the first person to attack me by saying I don't have a father. Was it my fault? How would someone say that? You are heartless." Rose spatted.
"Please, can we just let this issue slide?" I questioned their head teacher while. She shrugged her arm.
"Alright, sure. That wouldn't be a hard thing." She answered me while she dismissed us.
The other two little girls apologized to Rose before they walked out of the office. "Thank you very much." I appreciated their head teacher. It was already the end of the lessons already. They don't have class again.
"Thank you very much, mister." She appreciated me. With the acts I saw today, I am very certain that David doesn't have anything to do with Erika. They were just friends, and business partners, and there was nothing attached.
"Let's go grab some ice cream." I told Rose after she went to carry her school bag. Most of the staffs, and some of the senior students, were so surprised to see me at their school.
I knew I was really popular, but was it supposed to be that obvious on their faces? We went to a restaurant that was just one minute's walk from her school, while I texted her mom to come meet us there.
We ordered for two bowls of ice cream, and we got there immediately. "So you haven't seen your dad before? Why?" I questioned Rose, who was at my front.
"My mom told me that my dad abandoned us years ago, and I am four years old." She answered my question while I squinted my eyes. She's four years?
I guess I had been wrong all along. Erika left me four years ago, and there was no way that her daughter would be mine. That means she dated another guy immediately after she dated me?
I was so confused at this point. The bowl of the ice cream was brought to the both of us while we feasted on it, waiting patiently for her mom to arrive. It wasn't long before her mom arrived at the location.
I watched as she came down from the cab that brought her to the location.
"What happened? Why are you with her?" She walked in to where we were with an evident panting in her voice. It looked like she ran to this place; it took her just Six minutes for her to arrive. She sat on an empty chair that was there.
"They called your daughter fatherless, and she got into a fight. Why can't you get in touch with her father? Does his father know that he has a daughter here? What kind of father wouldn't care about his child?" I muttered, but she heard all that I was saying.
"Just because you helped my daughter at her school doesn't give you the right time to question me that way. As for her father, I bet he is doing well wherever he is, probably chasing after a girl who doesn't even give a fuck about him." She answered me.
Why does it look as if she was referring to me? "I would see you later. Bye." She grabbed her daughter's hand, almost walking out of me. Her daughter turned back, and then waved her hand at me as she walked away.
I wondered what Erika's reaction would be once she found out that I was involved in the deaths of her parents. That was the main reason why I felt like I didn'
t deserve her.
I feel guilty anytime I remember what happened to her parents.
Chapter 37.Luca's POV.I wished she realized how much she was hurting me with those words. I thought I was tripping at first when she said she was falling for me, but I didn't realize she wasn't sure about it yet.She was probably saying gibberish too because she was drunk. "You should sleep." I mentioned to her before she was finally able to let go off her.I wanted to know what and who made her like this. Furthermore, I just left her in the dining and within a few minutes she was outside already. My hand reached for my pocket, bringing out my phone while I dialed one of the security man who I was affiliated with."Can you please check the security cameras around the restaurant and let me know who Ria met with?" I texted him and then mentioned the name of the restaurant afterward. He knew Ria and he usually help me with a few personal stuffs which had been helpful so far. I took a last glance at her and she was fast asleep already.I walked back up to her as I then used the duvet t
Chapter 50Erika's POV."Mom! Dad! Were you really murdered? Were you murdered or it was something else? I need an answer from you two." I was currently at my parent's grave with the tears flowing down my eyes."You have been here for the past two hours. It will soon rain." I heard David voice that was right behind me."You can go. We would get to talk later." I informed him, and he rubbed his head with his hand in frustration. "You know there was no way I would allow you to stay here alone." He answered me, while he sat right beside me."I feel like you should meet with him, and ask him for the truth. That way you would be able to know the real truth about everything." He added, and I slowly looked at him."Are you sure he wouldn't do something like that? I bet that was the reason why he had been avoiding me for the past few years. That was the reason why he couldn't beat to marry me." I tried to hold back my tears, but they disappointed me again. He moved close to me, and made me c
Chapter 49Andrew's POV.This was the right time for me to take what I have always wanted for the past few years. It had been a very hard thing for me, but I didn't expect that we would get it as easy this way.I have a lot of shares on my hand right now, and I happened to let all the shareholders to be on my side. I happened to buy some shares from the shareholders doubling the amount they used to buy it.I was prepared for this day. An urgent shareholders meeting was held, and I heard he wasn't there yet. This would be a very good opportunity for me, and I shouldn't lose it that way.My driver drove into the company, while I came down from the car elegantly. A lot of people were surprised to see right at the company. I bet they were surprised to see coming down from the car that I ha brought. It was one of the latest car, and I just decided to bring it here also. O was led to the place where the meeting would be taking place. I sat among the shareholders. Most of them were not surpr
Chapter 48Charles's POV.I watched as she she came down from the stage looking so elegant, just like thew way she would.I love everything about her. If I didn't make a mistake few years back, I bet the both of us would have been together now. I watched as a lot of men admired her. That was the disadvantage that came together with dating a girl who was very beautiful. It was then I could hear a lot of people murmuring afterwards, while I wondered what they were talking about. It looked so serious, and then I looked at the projector since that was where their gaze were directed to.I squinted my eyes while I tried to understand what was happening. No way! How did that get into that place? My heart started beating so fast, knowing that this matter wouldn't be taken lightly. It was a picture of me discussing with Erika's parents, on the day they were travelling. It also showed a picture of me discussing with the pilot, and then another picture of the jet I had told them to take crashed.
Chapter 47.Erika's POV.The day really went bad for me after listening to that news. I didn't even know where to start talking. How would I get to see him frequently? There was no way that I would watch him from afar. I want to be close with him without putting more effort. I wanted it to happen secretly."When did you fall so hard for him like this again? I thought you didn't like him anymore." My subconscious questioned me. How did I really get to fall so hard for him?I wasn't supposed to fall this hard again, it seemed like the both of us were not meant to be with each other. If we were meant to be with each other, I wouldn't be getting news like this.If we were meant to be with each other, things are supposed to be coming our way, not the opposite.*****Three Days After.I looked at the dress he bought for me the other day was that placed right on my bed. There was no way I was going to leave the dress right at his house since I love it so much.I admired the dress while I slo

I could hear her footsteps moving closer to the closet. "There is no one there. I think you are just over reacting." He said to her.She didn't listen while her footsteps walked into the closet, and opened it. It happened that she got to open another one. It wasn't long before I heard Charles groaning. It was really a loud one."Are you okay?" I heard her footsteps fading away while h wondered what was wrong with him."Let's go to the hospital." I heard her saying. I opened the closet to take a look at what was wrong with him, but it looked so serious. He touched his chest in pain while he wouldn't stop groaning."No! Get me my medicine!" He instructed her while she ran out of the room in order to get his medicine. I wished I could be of help, but there was nothing that I could get to do that instan
