Chapter 5 A Nightshade's Revenge

"Aisha!" Jo thundered around their ‘Pack Shack’ looking for his little actress. Walking into the kitchen Aisha was at the table, sipping coffee.

"Sir Alpha. Good morning." She smiled at him.

"Was last night successful? Did you meet the Luna, get her scent?" Jo asked, looking like an eager puppy, all he needed now was the tail.

"No. That other Sakura Alpha got in the way. I was almost spotted, but the new Royal's Luna is quite distracting. Her scent is strange. I don't think she's even a wolf." She replied, looking concerned.

"How could that be? She could have been just hiding her scent and rank from you." He said looking into Aisha's eyes seriously.

"If she's not a wolf, this job will be harder to accomplish. I don't know if even I can completely hide my Wolf Spirit in front of a Royal. We have to think of a contingency plan in case our original plan falls through. We might just have to kill the Luna and hope my charms will be enough for him to fall for me and our plan and leave the Council." Aisha concluded.

"I'll give you one thing, you are evil." Jo smiled.

"Maybe I should take you as my mate." he stepped closer to her, using his Alpha Spirit to make her knees jelly and her wolf submit.

"No. Sir Alpha. I am not to be mated with anyone. I am forever a Lone Rogue, but we could have some fun occasionally." She winked at him, eyes getting dark and shiny.

"Get some rest, tomorrow we begin our mission." He released his Alpha's hold on her.

"Good night, Sir Alpha." Aisha walked away asking her hips seductively knowing Jo followed every wiggle, laughing to herself. He'd wanted her as his mate when they first met, but she wasn't the ‘fall in love’ type. His brother, Brody has been Jo’s only competitors for her love and who could mate her first. She loves her freedom and if she can cement herself as a leader or second in command after this mission and the Council crumbles, that's even better than being a mate or Luna in her world. She just hopes that Jo never gets wind of her personal agenda. It would prove to be fatal to her and ‘Sir Alpha’ wasn't the forgiving type.

The next day, Tristan was getting ready for the first morning of the Council, where he would be introduced to the other packs and welcomed into the Council.

Remembering the little gold box on his dresser he went and picked it up, examining it, turning it over in his hand, trying to recall Rex’s face and eyes as he opened it. Seeing the Blood Amulet inside, he gasped. He had seen this once before...well not him, but his wolf recognized it from a hidden past life that he thought was never going to end.

Shaking, he took it out of the box, holding it up in front of his eyes watching it slightly swing back and forth. His Luna walked in, but Tristan was in a trance and didn't know she was even there.

"Tristan, Triss? Alpha, hear me!" She called out to her Alpha. When he whipped around, his eyes were wide, darting all around the room. She recognized that Tristan’s wolf was in full control. This was not good, they had to meet the Council shortly and he would need all his wits about him when he does.

Sensing he was about to bolt, she grabbed the Luna Chain, kissed it and held it to her Alpha's for head. It worked,Tristan’s human started to resurface slowly, Anatashi breathing a sigh of relief. He has been losing control of his Wolf too much lately and had to wonder why.

Was it because she was human, not a wolf like the Luna that came before her? Was it because she wasn't his true mate? His father made him take her, a human as his Luna, told him the reason will reveal itself.

Did his father know something her Alpha or she didn't? She was brought out of her thoughts by Tristan’s cupping his Luna's face in his hands.

"Are you alright, Anatashi? Your chain, why did you draw it out?" He asked, fear in his eyes.

"My Alpha, your Wolf took control and it looked like you didn't know me and wanted to run." She said, lowering her eyes not wanting him to see her crying.

She's always held it together despite her insecurities. She was a weak human made strong by Tristan never giving up on her, teaching her the lore, introducing her to Vuk Majka's teachings, traditions, and histories, never got annoyed with her constant questions. He has always thought of her as his "little wolf", even though she didn't have a trace of a Wolf Spirit, touching her heart to think of these memories after so long. It would be quite a shock for Tristan to learn just how long she's been a Luna to his Royal Pack.

"Forgive me, my Luna. I meant no harm or disrespect, my Luna."

Grabbing her, he pulled her close, and gently kissed her forehead reassuring his Luna.

"My Wolf has been acting strangely since we arrived at the Grounds. I don't know what it could be, maybe there are more wolves at this Council because of me being welcomed into the Council or it could be this," He held up the Blood Amulet.

"Are there any mystic qualities hidden within it? Rex said it was meant to welcome, to show respect, and show you the value of brotherhood, but could this trinket be what is messing with your Wolf?" she asked.

"We will find out, I guess. I wonder if Rex has anything to do with this. We should go early and hope to run into him?" He asked.

"We could. I'll start the preparations, you just go and pull yourself together." His Luna smiled and left the room.

In the silence his thoughts racing around his brain at the same time. He tried to remember what he has read and been told about the Blood Amulet, but his mind was drawing a blank. He decided the best way to find out more about this amulet was to go to who gave it to him. Tristan slipped the chain around his neck and tucked it under his shirt, and left for the Council Grounds.

As soon as he saw the Royal and his Luna leave their mansion, IN linked to Jo and Brody the status of the mission.

**IN**

"Sir Alpha, Brody, the Royal and Luna just departed for the Grounds. We are all ready when you are."

**Jo**

"That's good, we are even a little earlier than planned, so remember to accommodate for that."

"Aisha! The Royal and his Luna are on the way to the Grounds. We will have to go now if we want to attack and swap you in for Tristan’s Luna. Remember the story you tell the Royal about who attacked and killed his Luna, Dark Alpha, Rex.

Seeing this will make him the prime suspect, giving us the time we need to vanish. Chad said he would do what he could to delay the Pack's departure. We don't need to run into this Alpha. It will derail our whole plan idoRex gets to the Royal before we convince him to run with us." Jo looked at the Omega darkly.

"Don't worry so much, you'll get wrinkles. No wolf or man has ever turned me away when I'm charming them. It will happen as you say, Sir Alpha. Rest assured, Dark Alpha will not be a problem." she smiled wickedly at Jo.

"Nice to know I still have a dance partner, Aisha. Let's go, you're on.” Jo growled.

Nodding, Aisha darted off in the direction of the Grounds to meet up with IN, Brody, and Seungmin to kick off the attack. Felix and Lee Know set out a day ahead of Rex’s wolves. They had the task of setting up the distraction, made up of several mini smog bombs, containing a dense fog laced with 'pass out' gas, and babysit them incase they were discovered.

Lee snuck away to be near Rex’s pack to run interference so Aisha has enough time to shimmer in and out with the Royal, IN, and Brody.

They would be the distraction in the upper tier, making a scene with a beautiful Omega from the Royal's pack to be close, while Seungmin uses his ability to cover his and the Omega's auras so they could get close to the Royal and his Luna.

The Council Grounds were buzzing with activity. Different wolves of all ranks were gathering for a glance of the new Royal Alpha.

It was an exciting time to have a new head of any Pack introduced. To know that Royal's intent for his pack, how they would interact with the diverse and unique packs, and in which direction the Council saw itself going with the addition of this new Royal Alpha.

Rex was relieved to have the focus taken off of him for this Gathering. The Council always wanted reports on whether he found his mate yet, if he was ever going to give up being Alpha of the Sakura Line, who his officers were, if he had chosen a Luna...blah, blah, blah. As if he wasn't distracted enough by his current situation. What did they want from him? HE didn't even know how his story was going to end. He could guess, but he'd rather not.

Only Vuk could know what was coming next. She was laughing at Rex from Pandora's Tome, knowing who his mate was, who will have him, and the price of getting him back.

Rex stopped suddenly, hearing a wicked laugh in the are that disappeared just as fast as he heard it. Looking up to the sky, he saw a shadows wolf accompanied by that laugh, he's heard it before....
