Chapter 6 Revelations

In the chaos of the Rouge's blitz attack, Rex’s lost sight of the upper tier where Tristan and his Luna were being led to the special seating for the Royal's introduction to the Council and court.

All the different Alpha Lines, Alphas, betas, and Lunas stood in line to walk by them, paying them respect and placing an offering to welcome them into the Brotherhood of the Wolf. Rex noticed that there were very few omegas at this meeting.

Unfortunately, his wolves were the last pack that would go pay tribute, so they saw and heard everything.

First came the smoke, hissing through the court, the gas that hid itself in the smoke started knocking out the younger wolves and lower ranks. It was just enough time for the Rogues to get in close, grab Tristan, and blinked out without a trace of their auras.

A flash of silver out of the corner of his eye drew his eyes up to see a slight shimmer in the air before they all disappeared into it, a sword sticking out of his Luna after she jumped in front of an advancing warrior from the crowd.

The wolf that impaled the Luna looked just like him! What wolf possesses that skill? The ability to glamor takes a very rare wolf with a specific set of skills. I know only one wolf that has resources like those, Jo, Sir Alpha of the Rogues.

That's strike 1...

Rex’s uman was frozen in terror, but his wolf acted instinctively, phasing and lunging himself at the upper tier, a black aura radiating from him.

"Alpha, stop!" Makai warned. He followed his Alpha's lead without question and took off after him.

**Makai**

"Pung, I am right behind you. Please don't be reckless? For the Pack's sake?"

Makai linked praying his Alpha's wolf got the message.

**Rex**

"I hear you, young wolf...Let's go then."

In a few seconds the shimmer was gone, equally confusing as when it came, Rex stopped short, almost causing a collision with his beta.

"Don't do that! Warn me next time!" Makai growled narrowly missing Rex’s ass.

"Sorry man. Just before I could jump at that shimmer, my Wolf's instincts forced me to hold back without warning. I have never felt that before, it was a rush. It was like he didn't want me or him to touch that shimmer!" Rex shook his head at the memory.

"What was that? Who would attack a Council gathering? Not to mention who would be so bold as to cross a Royal Line by kidnapping one of the Alphas and killing his Luna?" Makai asked.

There's only a handful of wolves that were strong and crafty enough to even attempt something of this magnitude. Only ONE wolf who fit the bill: Jo of the Rogues.

That's strike 2...

"We must gather the Council and court together. I know who's doing this, and I pray I'm not too late. We will all suffer if I can't get to him before I lose my wolf to the human within." Rex sprinted off to the Council Chambers, Makai fast on his heels.

Once inside, Rex went to the communications port, he put a small coin on the side of his temple and when his wolf's Royal Alpha Voice growled into the minds of EVERY wolf in a 10 mile radius knelt and listened. Except the Rogues.

When a wolf cuts ties with one or all of the Alpha Lines, that wolf can choose if they submit to the Alpha Voice. Royals, after all, were the strongest bloodline outside of the Council, they were about to discover that the Council was more of an influence than any of them on the Brotherhood.

"There has been a carefully executed plan at work today. Tristan, the new Royal Alpha was taken hostage and his Luna was killed, by a wolf that glamored into me, to make it look like I was the one that stabbed her.”

“She stopped the blade that would have ended his life with her body, knowing she would die. The Alphas and Betas of the Council and the court are the only personal needed. Meet at the Council Chambers in an hour. Understood?" Rex’s cut the link and headed to his cabin to prepare to hunt down Jo, his wolves, and free Tristan.

Sensing his impatience, Makai went back to the cabin as soon as Rex went to the Council Chambers, got everyone caught up, and explained what he wanted. Seeing his Alpha coming towards them, Makai announced that they are ready when he is.

"Thank you, Makai. You seem to know what I want before I do!" he punched his beta in the shoulder.

"Let's get to the clearing and join the other packs." He turn and phased taking off in a run with his beta hot on his heels.

It was an easy run for Rex and his beta. They were at the clearing before the Council and most pack representatives.

Phasing back to their human forms they walked up to the only Alpha and beta he spoke with regularly, Kit of the first Royal Alpha Line, Singularis, and his beta and mate, Rixa, a rare Royal Beta Kit met shortly after he turned 18 and imprinted on Rixa, a wolf almost a hundred years older than him. But kept the ancient Alpha young in his spirit.

" Kit, it's been too long my friend, he hugged the other Royal Alpha and kissed Rixa's hand out of respect.

"Rixa, you are looking like the pup you are!" Rex smiled warmly at her.

"PUNG!" Rixa beamed.

"It's been too long, Little Alpha, huh?" She laughed. Rixa made him feel like he was the younger one, not her.

"Leave him alone, love. He's got his ‘resting Alpha face’ going!" Kit laughed at Rex’s expression.

"You look like a pup that has just gotten the pinchy from his grandmother!" Makai laughed at his Alpha.

"Shut it, Makai. I don't need the 'Penis Gallery' commentary my friend." Rex snarled.

"So, Pung, who did this? Why would any wolf think the could earn their bones by taking a Royal Alpha? Especially one as strong as Tristan?" Kit marveled.

"Do you know him well? I've seen him twice, once while dropping off my trinket for his initiation. Otherwise I don't know him at all. There was something odd about him though, my Wolf went crazy, phasing by himself when the attack happened." Rex said.

"Why didn't you save your trinket for today's offering? You have never done that before. Why this time?" Kit asked seriously.

"I thought it was important that Rex introduce himself with the trinket. You know how much he loves the Offerings." Makai answered the Royal quickly giving nothing away that either of the Alpha's sense from him.

"That was my fault, Kit. This Council was vital for me." Rex sighed. Deciding it was time to let the other Royal know his true fate. The only other wolf that knows what will happen if he doesn't find his mate soon was Kit.

"Rex." Makai put his hand on his Alpha's shoulder to comfort him.

"I am right here. Lean on me? I will help get my Alpha through this." He swore to Rex looking him in the eyes so he would see his true intention was to help, not hurt.

"Thank you, Makai." He smiled, launching into the story to the 3 wolves of his crime against Nature and Vuk Majka.

His consequence for using the forbidden Blood Spell to turn the human he had fallen in love with into a wolf so very long ago. How he had cursed all wolves with a human side for the rest of their lives because he fell in love with a human. Vuk tricking Rex and his mate into the Debt of Blood, scattering his Alpha Spirit and the waning of his Wolf Spirit and his fate to become human after his Spirit is gone.

"Rex, you never told me the whole story before. Why do you live in this hell alone? You have me and the others in our pack, but you chose to say nothing and suffer in silence! You never trusted anyone with this knowledge?" Makai looked away from his Pung, with tears in his eyes.

"Rex, you have to tell the rest of the packs this when they arrive, before we hunt for the Rogues that took Tristan. They need to know what to expect with the outcome in case we have to make arrangements." Kit stopped talking, realizing Rex’s Wolf and Alpha Spirits working as one making all 3 wolves drop to their knees.

Facing the Royal and 2 Betas Rex’s wolf clearly in control, looking down at them.

"You three will not say a word to the Council or the other packs. My power is waning, yes, but I have enough to see this last action through. If you want to abandon me because of what I did, because I fell for a human, that's your choice, but if I don't find my mate now, I'll be doomed to be a human, living a human life. One of the oldest and strongest Royal Line Alpha will be gone forever and the packs will have to fend for themselves and vote in a new Sakura Alpha. There will be chaos worse than this kidnapping and a dead Luna. If all turns out in my favor, if I find my mate and survive this battle with the Rogues I will call a meeting to inform the Council and Court of my actions back then and now." Rex said with eyes glowing.

"Rex, the Council already knows your actions, it was their decision to keep you as Alpha. You have isolated yourself and your pack for too long, Alpha. None of the packs look down at you for your decision. When it comes to your mate EVERY WOLF knows the pain of losing their mate. We die inside or go crazy if we lose them, you. That is how Nature intended it. We aren't meant to live alone, and you have been alone for far too long. Let us help you." Kit pleaded with Rex’s wolf.

"Agreed. We will help you get Tristan back so the Council can finish the ceremony of introducing his to the Council and court. As soon as the Royal is safe, we will help you sniff out your mate." Rixa smiled at Rex.

"Accept the help, Alpha. You have to learn to trust your brothers and sisters, we are here to help." Makai whispered.

Seeing Rex’s glowing eyes dim to a shiny black, made the three wolves exhale in relief. They had talked he and his wolf off the ledge.

Later, after requesting to be alone to clear his thoughts, he looked up at the sky,

"At least is my story is ending, maybe it's time to choose a successor. Vuk, it seems that you have won. Nature prevails." Rex bowed his eyes in the light of the New Moon, Lunari, not knowing the Alpha of the Solaris Pack was minutes from meeting up with the 4 wolves at the clearing.

"Alpha Rex!" A strange voice called out in the dark.

"Your plea has been heard by Lunari. He has given me a message for you. Will you hear it?" An all white wolf with blue markings and soft blue aura trailing behind asked Rex.

Sensing a new wolf in the area, Makai, Kit, and Rixa ran in the direction of the Dark Alpha.

"Alpha Joonie?" Kit shot the Alpha a confused look.

"Where is your beta? Did you ditch that poor boy again?” Kit laughed, shaking his head at Joon..

"I didn't mean to," He chuckled.

"I don't understand why that pup follows you sometimes." Kit laughed.

Smiling, Joon replied,

"What can I say? It's all training to him!" All the wolves laughed.

"What's the message?" Rex asked the Alpha.

"Pandora was the one responsible for taking Vuk Majka's goddess like power, along with her Soul's Light. Pandora locked them in a mystic cage, called the Tome of Sadness until she found another worthy to take on the mantle of Vuk." Joon paused, not knowing how to say what is coming next.

"Go on," Rex urged, knowing there was more to it. There HAD to be more to it.

"Taking Vuk's power, sealing it in her Tome negated any Oaths or Debts she had hanging over the wolves, including Debts of Blood." Joon met Rex’s eyes for the first time.

"What does that mean?" The other Alpha's words struck his wolf like lightning.

"Pandora had all of the ‘Judgements’ and ‘Debts’ of the punished wolves crimes brought to her. Reevaluating Vuk's decision, she decided to pardon select wolves that Vuk wrongfully judged harshly, and punished. She took an immediate softness when going through your records, deciding almost immediately 'the punishment did not fit the crime'."

Rex was blank, his wolf spinning inside him. Did that mean....he wasn't going to lose...huh? Using his Royal Alpha Voice, he turned to Joon, growling,

"What specifically does what you're saying mean?" He towered over the Alpha.

"You have been released from your punishment, but your mate has not. After she sent you away into the wolf you are in now, Vuk added an additional punishment, just for him. Your Wolf Spirit burns strong, has been since that day. His is dying off, as you believed yours once was. He will not find his mate until his 25th year. That was one condition Pandora could not reverse. He is suffering now like you were 15 minutes ago." He finished.

"Why wasn't I told this before now? I don't understand..." Rex let the conversation flop, turned away, and headed in the direction of where the Rouges were seen and rumored to be headed.
