Elias POV

The next week, our fathers organised a dinner for us, just with families. The Blackwood decided to come to our house. That day, my mother Evelyn made sure everything was perfect for their arrival.

She made a lot of dishes, dishes she has never even made us. When I asked her if she was doing too much, she just replied me that it was okay.

"Mom, don't you think you are over doing it?" I asked her

"Oh this? This is just little, don't worry baby" she said and shooed me away. I went upstairs to my room to freshen up because the Blackwood's would be here any minute form now.

I wore a big black shirt and paired it with a black pant, I did not really like dressing fancy. Then I heard the front door open and I heard some noise downstairs.

I made my way downstairs where I saw the Blackwood's at the end of the stairs.

"And this must be the famous Elias" Mr Blackwood said as he extended his hand for a handshake. I shook his hand and he patted me at the back.

Next, Mrs Blackwood pulled me in for a hug.

"It is finally nice to meet you, you look cuter in person" she said while pulling my cheeks.

Then his younger brother Emmett came to say hi.

"Hi, I am Emmett, it is nice to meet you" he said while shaking my hand.

"I am Elias, nice to meet you too" I said. Then I saw my soon to be husband, Vincent Blackwood. He looked like he wants to be anywhere but here. He did not even acknowledge me, he just went straight to where my parents and his parents were.

"Don't worry about him, with time, he will warm up to you" Emmett said. I just nodded because deep down, I knew that can never happen.

We then walked into the dinning room where the food was being served. I sat down opposite Vincent, during the dinner, I could not make eye contact with him because he was throwing dagger through his eyes. I could feel them.

After dinner, Mr Blackwood suggested we go somewhere private so we could talk alone. I don't know why they think we would want that. We stood up and I led him to the balcony.

The balcony was really peaceful, the view of the city was really nice, and the stars were shining brighter this night. I just sat down and faced the sky.

He sat down beside me, but he did not say a word. We both just sat down in silence and enjoyed the night. After a while, his brother came to call him.

"Hy, we are already leaving" Emmett said.

Vincent just stood up and left, he did not look back or even bid me good bye. So I followed him, it would be rude of me not to bid his family good day.

After they left, I helped my mother to clear the table and went to my room. I went to my closet and brought out my box. I wanted to paint again, but this time, I wanted to paint something else other than Vincent Blackwood.

I brought out my paint brushs, my paints and my canvas. I sat in front of it and started painting. I painted the night starts from the balcony.

That was the first time I and Vincent will ever be in a closed space without him being on my neck. It was peaceful but I know it won't happen again.

As I was painting, my phone rang. It was my best friend, Serena James. I met Serena when I was in college, we clicked the moment we first met and since then, we have been best friends.

Serena was away on a trip with her parents in Hawaii. She has been gone for two months now, but she said she would be coming back soon.

We both own a art gallery, well she owns it, but It is my arts she puts in the gallery. So I am like a business partner.

"Hy, how are you?" I asked her

"Hey, I feel like I haven't heard from you in a while" she said

"I have been busy that is all " I told her

"How are you doing? How is Hawaii treating you?" I asked her

"We definitely need to come here, just the two of us, even if it for a weekend, you will love it here, I don't even feel like coming back home" she said

"We can plan on our next trip soon" I told her

"So when are you coming back?" I asked her

"Well, my flight is by noon in two days time" she said.

"Okay great, because we have a lot to discuss " I told her.

"Spill" she ordered

"Why can't you wait till you come back, it will be better if I told you this face to face" I said

"You know how impatient I get, why can't you tell me now?" She whined

"Because we need to see" I said

"When you know you were not going to tell me anything, you should have just waiting till I come back before saying anything" she whined

"Fine, I will tell you, so don't freak out or anything but I am getting married to Vincent Blackwood next month" I said.

"Excuse me, what? Vincent Blackwood, the same Vincent Blackwood? She asked

"Yes, the one and only" I told her. Then she shouted in my ears.

"Oh my God, I can't believe you are marrying the most hottest guy in the country" she squealed.

"Are you not going to ask my why we are getting married?" I questioned her.

"At this point, I don't really care, my baby is getting married" she said

"This was not the reaction I was expecting " I told her.

"Don't worry, I will be back soon, then we can discuss this well" she said .

Then I bid her goodnight and went to take a shower, then I laid on my bed and fell asleep. The last thing I remembered was Vincent hazel eyes.

Elias POVI woke up the next morning feeling as though the air itself was too heavy to breathe. My lips tingled faintly, and every time I shifted under the blanket, the memory of last night came rushing back. Vincent had kissed me. Not the cold, calculated Vincent Blackwood the world knew, but a man who had cornered me against the wall, who had whispered he was worried when I wasn’t home, and who had pressed his lips against mine like he couldn’t stop himself.I lay there, staring at the ceiling, unsure whether to smile or panic. My heart kept replaying it on a loop, but my head, my rational head, kept insisting it was a mistake. Maybe he kissed me because of the heat of the moment. Maybe he regretted it already. Maybe it was just a way to shut me up.I buried my face in the pillow, groaning into the fabric. Get it together, Elias. The smell of coffee wafted faintly through the air, dragging me out of my spiraling thoughts. My stomach grumbled, loudly. I hadn’t eaten much after the di

Vincent's POVI woke up before the sun had even considered rising, the room bathed in a gray, sleepy light. My body felt restless, my mind heavier than it should have been after only a few hours of sleep. Elias. The memory of our kiss last night refused to leave me. I hadn’t slept; I didn’t even want to. My thoughts had been consumed by him—the way he’d backed into the wall, the way his breath had hitched, the subtle tremor of his lips, and the faint, helpless warmth of his body pressed against mine.I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, my feet landing on the cool hardwood floor. My heart was still racing. I kept replaying the moment, trying to tell myself I had been reckless, that maybe it had been a mistake—but I couldn’t. Deep down, I knew it hadn’t been a mistake. Every bit of me wanted that kiss to be the first of many, wanted to finally take what had been denied for so long. But there was also fear. Elias didn’t know. He didn’t know I had been jealous of Thomas. He didn’t k

Elias POV The car ride home with really silent. The only thing that could be heard was the faint music playing from the car. There was a lot of thought going through my head. My stomach decided it was a perfect time to make an entrance. Vincent looked at me and I wished the ground could swallow me because I was really embarrassed."Hungry? He asked."Yes, I have not eaten since you brought me lunch " I replied him. He made a turn by the left and we went to a 24/7 diner. We got out of the car and entered the diner. We went to the counter to order what we wanted to eat. As soon as the girl beside the counter saw us or should I say Vincent, she quickly unbuttoned the first two button of her shirt. Her boobs were in full display."What can I get you? She said while ignoring me and making flirty looks at Vincent. Vincent did not even look her way."I would like to get a chicken burger and some fries, what do you want? I turned to Vincent and asked him."Same as yours" he replied. I turned

Elias POVVincent has been acting strange since the day we came back from the amusement park. He was nicer for some reason which was not a bad thing. I was only worried this side of him won’t last.I wanted to do something nice for him, so I decided to make him breakfast. I did not know if he would like it or even eat it but he ate it and liked it. I had to meet Serena at the gallery because we still have a lot of things to do before our reopening. We had some people drop some paintings for us so we had to arrange everything inside the gallery. We could actually hire someone to do everything for us but we wanted to do it ourselves. It makes us bond more.We spent all morning offloading and arranging everything and it was now afternoon.
