I watch as Logan's retreating figure vanishes into the thick forest, it was swallowed by the tall pines and the thick fog which was curling around the trees.

But the weight of his silence as he stared at me made me have a heartbreak and lingered in the air like a ghost, which was haunting the space he left behind.

I swallowed hard, trying to clear it off my mind and focus where Kelvin was but then forcing myself to push it away by the twisting guilt in my chest.

There was no room for distractions. Not now. I needed to focus and win this before getting distracted by anything else.

Kelvin exhaled sharply beside me, that brought me back to reality. "He shouldn’t have been here," he muttered in a low voice, his jaw tightening harder. I could see the storm-gray in his eyes as it flashes with something unreadable—was it frustration? Concern? Or something deeper? Whatever it was I couldn't tell.
