Chapter 2: Did I Die?

At some point in time, Asteria wake up. She gasped slightly and began to take a look at the unfamiliar scenery around her. She noticed her surroundings and the feeling of deja vu as she realized something. The hell that she had fallen asleep again! She was quite angry as she rubbed her eyes furiously. Upon just waking up, she was indeed quite sensitive.

Remembering the last memory before she came to this place, Asteria had gotten even angrier. She had caught her boyfriend kissing with an acquaintance that almost could be considered a friend.

They were having camping together with a group of ten people. The camping site was not far from the cliff, and that was where Asteria had caught both of them kissing.

She didn't why, but the memory of what happened at that time flooded her mind more strongly than last time. Perhaps, it was due to her sleep that she began to recover more of her memory.

"Ria, it is not like what you see. I can explain it." Delain, Asteria's boyfriend was quite in a panic that Astria had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Asteria had seen their position. Delain was above, kissing Ashley quite intimately on the grassy ground. It's looked like that it wasn't a forced action.

Asteria blinked, looking offended. She scowled. "What do you mean it's not like what I see. Do you think I am blind? Look, I still have two eyes to see. If you are unable to see it, that's mean you are the one who is blind."

Delain still tried to explain as though he didn't hear Asteria's words at all. "Listen, Ria. Ashley was going to trip and I helped her to get up, but accidentally we both lost our footing and..."

Delain's explanation that didn't even make sense had begun to bore her. Why can't he find a more reasonable answer instead of this?

Asteria yawned in boredom and didn't listen anymore. As she looked at the woods, she thought of how beautiful it was. Why hadn't she noticed it sooner? The green scenery combined with the fresh air, it was quite an enjoyable atmosphere.

"Delain, why are you with this kind of person?" Ashley suddenly spoke up. "She certainly doesn't care of you."

"What are you talking about? Ria is a kind person." Delain denied Ashley's words as he approached Asteria.

Ashley's eyes flashed slightly with malice as she looked at the back of the man who was getting closer to Asteria.

Asteria glanced at them slightly and didn't say anything. She looked at Delain's face briefly and just shook her head. She knew that Delain must've gotten quite impatient with her. She was quite a rash person, and with his personality, it just sometimes didn't match.

Delain looked at her. "Ria, do you believe me?"

Asteria was silent. Instead, it was Ashley who spoke. "Delain, I know that you enjoyed our kiss. Why bother hiding it? You didn't let go as soon as your lips touched mine.".

Asteria looked at the two with unblinking eyes.

"Ria, don't listen to her," Delain yelled quite angrily, looking at Ashley who had a smug expression on her face. His face was pale and he looked to be in a panic as he tried to convince Asteria, trying to grab one of Asteria's hand. "Say something, Ria. Do you not believe me?"

Ashley, who was a few meters away from Asteria and Delain suddenly moved fast and shoved Asteria to the cliff that she was standing quite close to. Asteria's eyes widen in disbelief as she stared at the two, especially at Ashley.

"A heartless woman like you doesn't deserve Delain at all. Why must all the good things be yours?" Ashley's mocking combined with her laughter was the last thing she heard before she felt the force of gravity that pushed her body down. "Now, you will be gone forever."

She had seen how the two were acting completely in front of her and she just wanted to enjoy the show, yet, unexpectedly she had underestimated Ashley's craziness. She didn't need to see Delain's expression to see that the two were in cahoots.

It was hurt. The branches of trees that grew along the wall of cliff occasionally grazed her skin; and the betrayal. She had pretended to be expressionless like what they were doing didn't affect her at all. But, the betrayal was something that she couldn't accept.

With the combination of the slowly increasing wounds on her skin and her wounded feeling, Asteria felt pained. She had said some words of sarcasm at the beginning due to her sometimes rash action and she had to force herself to calm down at the moment.

At some point in time, she had lost consciousness. Perhaps, her life had truly come to an end. Asteria was unwilling, yet what she could do?

Unexpectedly, now she woke up in this unfamiliar place. She didn't recognize those strangely taller and bigger trees. She didn't know where she was.

But, Asteria remembered that she had met a strange wolf before.

"Ah!" She let out a surprised sound. Asteria just found out that she had been sleeping this whole time while hugging the wolf from earlier. It was quite odd that she had joined the wolf to sleep and she admitted that it was quite comfortable, but she couldn't lower her vigilance at the moment.

"What the hell is this place?" Asteria got up and mumbled as she put some distance between herself and the wolf. Then, she inspected her own body and was quite terrified of what she had found. "Impossible. I fell from such a high place, yet there are no injuries at all."

Asteria began to yell in frustration. "Damn, it's that Ashley girl fault that I am in this strange place now. What a psychopath."

She sank to the floor and began to hit the ground like crazy. "Stupid, stupid. Just rot in hell, Delain bastard."

Whoever could see her now probably would think that she had finally lost it. Though there was none there, the wolf who had been sleeping for quite sometime unexpectedly had awakened.

Asteria was still yelling in anger and frustration as she let out a string of curses when sudden a growl made her froze in place.

The wolf from earlier had already stand up as it gazed at Asteria with hostility. Asteria just realized that the wolf had gotten bigger as if it had changed.

Asteria's face turned slightly pale as she backed away. The wolf growled again, letting her know that it had been angered. Probably it was her loud voice that had to awaken him.

It was no longer the docile wolf that she had encountered earlier. Asteria could only dodge as the wolf jumped at her.

She knew that if the wolf caught her, her life would forfeit here. She would be his meal. Asteria couldn't help but started to dash away. The wolf seemed to be quite angered by her that it didn't let Asteria go and followed her.

Asteria knew at that moment that she was sent into some frigging torture place as she already fell from the cliff. This was probably hell.
