Hans’ POV

The dust had barely settled from Jhoanna’s verbal smackdown on the elders when Rio strolled into the room, hands in his pockets and an amused grin playing on his lips.

“I swear, every time I come back, the pack is one step away from a full-blown crisis,” he drawled. “Missed me already?”

I gave him a dry look. “I’d say yes, but then I’d be lying.”

Jhoanna snorted beside me, rubbing her belly as she flopped onto the couch. “If you’re here to add to the panic, Rio, I swear I’ll hex you.”

“Noted.” He settled down into the armchair opposite us, stretching his legs out. “Though, in my defense, I just got back from a mission and already heard three different versions of ‘the Luna is cursed’ on my way here. I had to come see the chaos for myself.”

Jhoanna rolled her eyes. “Seriously, why does everyone assume the worst?”

“Because we’re wolves, and wolves panic,” Rio replied easily. “Plus, you being part-witch still freaks out some of the elders. You know how they sometimes make matte

Hans’ POVThe moment we finalized our plan, the pack shifted into action. Garrick and his trackers disappeared into the woods, their paws silent against the damp earth as they pursued the thieves. Rio had already started barking orders at the remaining warriors, organizing ration distributions and assigning patrols to tighten security.Meanwhile, I prepared to leave.I strapped my dagger to my belt, ensuring it sat snug against my hip. Not that I expected trouble—yet. But something about this whole situation didn’t sit right with me. The way the supplies were stolen so cleanly, so deliberately, without a single guard noticing… It reeked of something more than just a desperate pack looking to trade at our expense.Jhoanna lingered nearby, watching me as I readied myself. Her lips pressed into a thin line, arms crossed over her growing belly.“I still don’t like this,” she admitted. “You shouldn’t be going alone.”I sighed, adjusting the sheath. “I won’t be alone. Rio’s coming.” She sc

Hans’s POVA week later, chaos erupted in the pack. It started in the most mundane way. I was in the meeting hall with the elders, going over plans for the upcoming harvest festival, when Elder Magnus suddenly stopped mid-sentence, his brow furrowing as if he’d just remembered something crucial.“Alpha,” he said, leaning forward, his voice grave, “...shouldn’t the Luna have given birth by now?”The room fell silent.“What?” I blinked, caught completely off guard.“Gestation for wolves is four months,” Elder Cecilia chimed in, her voice tinged with alarm. “Luna Jhoanna has been pregnant for over four months now, hasn’t she?”I opened my mouth, then closed it again. The realization struck me like a slap to the face. Of course, wolves only carried their pups for four months. But Jhoanna wasn’t just a wolf—she had witch blood. And as much as I hated to admit it, I had no idea what that meant for her pregnancy. The murmurs started immediately.“Is the pup okay?” “Could there be compli

Jhoanna’s POVThe morning breeze swept gently through the open windows of our room, rustling the curtains as Hans carefully adjusted a blanket around my shoulders. I didn’t protest this time, too content basking in the lingering warmth of his words and the joy of hearing Luna Tilly’s news.As I took another reluctant sip of the nausea tea—which, by some miracle, didn’t taste as awful as usual—I caught Hans watching me with that annoyingly soft expression he always seemed to have these days. It wasn’t fair, really. How was I supposed to stay mad at him when he looked at me like I was the moon and stars rolled into one?“Stop staring,” I mumbled, though my cheeks betrayed me by warming under his gaze.“I’m not staring,” he replied, his lips twitching. “I’m admiring.”“That’s worse,” I grumbled, though the corner of my mouth lifted in a small, traitorous smile.Hans crouched down beside me, resting his chin on the edge of the bed as he grinned up at me. “You’re allowed to sulk at your

Jhoanna’s POV- Months Later - The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that my back ached. Again. The second thing was the sharp smell of lavender wafting from the diffuser on the nightstand—a smell I’d grown to despise over the past month. Apparently, lavender was supposed to help with mood swings. Spoiler alert: it didn’t.I let out an annoyed grunt and rolled onto my side, clutching my growing belly as I struggled to find a comfortable position. “Hans!” I called, my voice sharper than I intended.Moments later, the door creaked open, and Hans stepped in, his hair slightly tousled and his ever-patient expression firmly in place. He was holding a steaming mug in one hand and what looked like a stack of papers in the other.“Good morning, sunshine,” he said with infuriating cheerfulness, placing the mug on my nightstand. “How’s my favorite grumpy Luna doing today?”I shot him a glare, though the effect was somewhat diminished by the fact that I was buried under three blankets

Jhoanna’s POV“No,” uncle Aidan growled, his voice laced with desperation. “We broke it . We broke it!”But Luna Tilly’s body suddenly convulsed, her back arching violently as a rumbling growl escaped her lips. Her golden eyes snapped open, but they weren’t hers anymore. They glowed a sickly green, unnatural and filled with malice.Uncle Jayden recoiled, his face pale. “Tilly?” he whispered, his voice barely audible. She let out a bone-chilling snarl, her body twisting unnaturally as the dark energy around her intensified. The packhouse trembled, cracks spreading across the walls as the very ground beneath us seemed to shudder in response.“She’s been possessed,” Mom said, horror evident in her voice. “The curse didn’t leave—it found a host.”Uncle Aidan’s scream of anguish pierced the air as Tilly’s body lunged toward him, her movements no longer her own. Uncle Jayden barely managed to pull him back in time, his eyes blazing with both fear and determination.“Jhoanna, Hans!” Mom’s vo
