The Confrontation

Jas POV

I can't believe that a dad would kick his own daughter out. I have no idea what she was kicked out for, but I could never kick my kids out of my house. I don't care if they are eighty. I walk ahead of my pretty girl as Jordan stays behind me with his hand wrapped around her bicep.

"I will do the talking, you do the intimidating, Jor."

He just nods as we reach the door step. I don't even get the chance to knock, as the door has already been swung open and a red faced aging man is standing there where the door was when I looked back at Jor.

"Hey there, sir. We just wanted to help Jenny here get her things."

His face is crimson now as he looks towards me. "You think I want her back in my house? The little bitch refuses to learn anything I want to teach her and she keeps tattooing up her body. She's just a useless wad of..."

He's cut off by the swing of Jordan's fist against his face. He looks at my brother as realization sinks in. There is blood streaming down his face from his nose and into his mouth. "What the fuck?"

I look at him again, smiling this time. "Oh, did we forget to introduce ourselves?" The man just holds his nose like it will stop the bleeding. "I am Jasper and this I Jordan... I think you know our last name already, sir."

He nods as he holds his nose tight. "Shit." It comes out all muffled and barely audible. "Fuck! Come on in. Get her shit and leave. I don't care what you do with her or why she's with you. I only care that I never see her at this house ever again."

I nod, leading the way as we walk past my pretty girl's awful father. "Fine by us."

I let Jenny lead the way as an elderly looking woman goes up to the man at the door, fussing over his still profusely bleeding nose. Jenny looks like she wants to hug her, but she thinks better of it and heads up the stairs. I don't know why she has even an ounce of respect for either of these people, but I note the way she looks at her mom.

We get up to her room and there is stuff strewn all over the place. "Did you leave it like this, pretty girl?"

She looks like she is on the brink of tears as she digs through all her things. "No. I... fine! I will just grab a few things and walk around naked the rest of the time I guess."

She looks back at me as I raise my eyebrows at her suggestion. "Or... maybe we could get you some clothes tomorrow?"

She laughs, but not in the funny way, in the way that says she is really starting to lose it. "It's not just clothes, Jas. My parents have done this as a disrespect to me. They really don't want anything to do with me ever again."

I nod, not wanting to interrupt her, but Jordan does. "Fuck them. They don't matter. You are a beautiful woman who can make due on your own. You now have a stable job and we can provide you with the rest." He looks at me and shrugs. "I know you were trying to hold back, Jas, but fuck that. I am going to say what needs to be said. We only just met this girl today and we already see her as more valuble than her parents ever did."

I nod. "That is true." I look at Jenny. "Leave the crap here. We will stop at the mall on the way back. Only grab something if it still holds value to you."

I watch her as she makes her way to the dresser. She pulls open the drawer and pulls out a small glass statue. It's got a beautiful halo around it's head and is no more than four inches tall. "This... She holds it close to her heart. "This is the reason for getting up every morning."

I look at the statue and sigh. "What does it mean to you? I want to know."
