I became less anxious but still worried under his comforting stare. So, something has been in my back the entire time. For a while, I genuinely believed the agony was in my head, but it turned out to be something lodged in my back.

I could finally move after feeling something slowly separate from my back. My body was lying on the table, and I stood up.
