Chapter 12 - Doriane
Laurence was the strangest person she had ever met.
As Doriane watched him walk out the door, she couldn't help but feel relieved.
He was nice enough, but socializing with him had taken a lot of energy out of Doriane and she felt the intense need to sleep now.
And besides, he asked a lot of questions.
Doriane could appreciate his talent for cooking, though.
She had learned that Laurence had the best talent for cooking between the three brothers. She heard of a brother named Landon and they spoke about his gift with technology and motors. She was surprised to hear about Levi's talent in tracking and fighting.
The thought both terrified and entranced her.

Doriane watched from her chair as Levi cleared all the plates from the table. Doriane tugged at the shorts resting just above mid-thigh and tried to stretch them further down to cover more of her scarred skin. The swimsuit covered her stomach and her shorts covered more of her legs than the clothing she had been forced to wear in the past, but she still felt like she had much too little clothes on. She would hate the revealing clothing she was forced to wear at Oliver’s. When she lived with her parents, they didn’t give her anything nice, but she was at least allowed to wear clothes that covered her. With the revealing clothes, her scars were painfully obvious.
