Chapter 16 - Landon
Landon watched in satisfaction as his mate dozed off in his arms. It took a lot of coaxing, but she finally allowed him to hold her in his arms. Brooklyn slumped her weight against him and closed her beautiful blue eyes.
After almost an hour of talking, Brooklyn finally fell asleep. It was a good thing, too, seeing as though it was incredibly late and she was attacked in the club earlier today.

He felt the confusion, the desire, and the hesitation in her kiss, almost as if she was pleading with him not to break her.

Landon pulled her tense fingers from the middle console and threaded his fingers through hers. “Relax, I can see. I have this under control.” Landon turned the car, heading down another road stretched out along the rainy path. More large drops pelted the windshield, obscuring the view of the road in front of him.
