Confused

As she fixed her gaze through the glass window and watched the first thin of dawn sleep over the ridges and the Shining Star, Silver thought that surely, she must be the only person in the household who was awake.

She had been surprised she couldn't sight Diego when she awoke, she still found it hard to believe she allowed Diego to make love to her after promising herself that she would have to stop.

She couldn't resist Diego's seductions. He was truly a boss when it comes to seduction. She had a guilty feeling in her that she's cheated on Theo though he's just her best friend and not boyfriend.

She has all hope of dating Theo but letting Diego ruin that plan for her, would be the last thing she would ever allow him do.

She couldn't sleep well last night after their love making. Awake was probably the wrong way to put it, she had actually been asleep since her mind wandered far away.

She had been tensed and tossed until she'd wondered if she was suffering from Malaria. Atop everything else, the sudden interest of an overwhelming attractive man like Theo, Diego's anger was as plain as a badge on his chest could be. She could see it in the movement of those deep blue eyes, constantly watching her. She knew he already had the thought that she is dating Theo. Diagoe could be very smart and sensitive.

She knew it would not be long before he discovers that she's In love with anyone.

She knows within herself that she doesn't love Diego. All she simply feels for him are nothing but sheer lust and sexual attractions. She had only agree to date him when Theo started dating another girl and she needed something to distract her mind. That was when Diego came with his proposal and she accepted as he had almost all the qualities she wanted in a man.

He's wealthy, handsome and quite caring at times but nothing can be compared to Theo who got all the qualities she wanted in a man.

She could sense it in the set of his broad shoulders, angled toward her when he wasn't even aware of it. She could feel it in the gentle protective touch of his hands. Those hands were magical. She wished to goodness she'd felt them on her. All night long, she had thought about the way he had touched her. She couldn't compare it with Theo's touch.

The only thing she wanted, was a cup of tea and some quiet time to process all the crazy things in her mind that happened last night. She had imagined running away immediately Diego went into his restroom but she still find herself on his bed. Only then had she believed she imagine things alot as she had once been told by her sister. She actually wish she had left the way she had imagined it. At the moment, she wants to leave for home and rest.

As she descended the wide smooth stairway she smelled the aroma of coffee brewing. This isn't suprising to her. She knew Diego loves coffee a lot and is kinda addicted to it. The first thing on his mind when he wakes up, is to take a cup of Hot Coffee. He is so addicted to it that he can't do without taking it regularly.

The door at the bottom of the stairs was ajar and she caught a glimpse of Justin, Diego's cook though not the only chef Diego has but certainly Diego's favorite.

She watched as he poured the hot coffee from the enormous enamel kettle into a clean white mug.

Silver stopped in her tracks as she caught sight of a masculine hand reaching out to take the mug.

"Mr Justin, I would want you to watch over Silver. I don't want her out of this house till I'm back from the office. Keep your eyes on her.", Diego was saying. "I could have loved to keep my eyes on her myself but I'm pretty busy. Just make sure she doesn't leave the house until I say so. I've got much important files and meetings with all my staffs" .

"There's no problem, sir. I will do as you've instructed me to, Sir.", Justin said bowing slightly. The sight of this irritated Silver a lot.

.

Silver remained frozen in place on the staircase, listening intently now. So Diego didn't want her to go, why? Shamelessly, she eavesdropped, hoping to get some more information that might be important to her.

"You can just call me Diego, okay? No need for the formality in this house. I've known you for years since you became my chef and I've come to see you as my brother. So don't call me that, just Diego is fine by me".

"Sure, sir... I mean, Diego.", Justin corrected himself immediately. It's something that might be difficult for him to adjust to. He's not familiarized in addressing his employer by his name but sir as a symbol of respect. "I surely appreciate your kindness towards me ever since I became your personal chef."

Disappointed, Silver padded down the last few stairs on bare feet. At the bottom of the stairscase, she peeked around the door. She was not surprised to see that Diego was fully dressed. His shirt was neatly ironed and tightly tucked at his tapered waist. It stretched across a tack so massive and well-formed that the sight of it made Silver's heart racing wildly for a moment.

One long, lean leg clad in denim and a well polished black expensive pair of shoes. He even had his muscular out a little through the neat fabric. She pushed a frizz of bangs out of her eyes and eased the door fully open, realizing too late that she was not exactly

as Diego would put it, properly attired.

Suddenly, she felt exposed even though she was wearing one of her expensive high necked cotton nightgown which Diego has gotten for her.

Silver's discomfort stemmed from the fact that the material of the gown were light maybe it was the fact that she wore absolutely nothing underneath it or maybe it was the fact that one of the most handsome men wasn't a feet away. A man so solidly built, his presence filling the huge kitchen like a solid rock. Just looking at him made Silver unconsciously cross a hand over her front and gather the neck of the nightgown tighter with the other hand.

"Hubby!", Diego whirled around from his chair where he sat, watching Justin prepare his favorite coffee.

"What in the world are you doing up at dawn? I thought you'd sleep awhile yet".

"Good morning, Miss.", Justin addressed quietly.

Thank Goodness he didn't look up from what he was doing. "I couldn't sleep when I found it hard to sleep." Silver decided maybe she could slide around behind Diego, get her tea and leave the heck out of the kitchen.

She felt uncomfortable being in the midst of two guys who just talked and concluded about her. Justin knew she wouldn't be able to sleep after she had made love for hours he was certain about "after having such a sweet and gallivanting love making for several hours. It would be impossible for her to sleep." Justin thought.

He was preparing oatmeal as diagoe never had anything for breakfast but a cup of strong coffee and a dab of oatmeal.

"Actually, I don't think I ever got to sleep.", Silver admitted. "Too keyed up, I guess.", she hated to tell Diego that she'd forgotten how uncomfortable she had been with him even though she enjoyed the sex..

"You want some breakfast, Miss?", Justin slid the plate in front of Diego and scurried back over to the gas cooker faster than a waitress.

"Nope, I don't think I want to eat for now. I just want a cup of tea if that's okay."

"There's still some hot water left. Help yourself, though you really should eat something. You're looking so slender" Diego said calmly, his eyes all over her body.

Justin took a potholder, grabbed a baking pan bursting with steaming biscuits. Justin eased a steaming biscuits out, Diego slid his chair back slight so he could see around her.

Silver lifted the tea kettle, then halted when she realized Diego was watching her backside. She turned and looked over her shoulder and a ripple of sexual awareness shot through her the instant their gazes connected. He wasn't smiling or leering or anything like that, but his eyes affirmed that he definitely appreciated what he saw.

For one brief moment, they stared at each other in the cozy huge kitchen touched only by the faintest daylight, it struck her that his eyes are incredibly intense. They were the kind of eyes a woman wanted. It was as dark and fathomless and alluring as a hidden mountain which hasn't been discovered.

He hadn't slept either. Silver suspected his damp hair and noted that he was cleanly shaven. "I'm glad you're up.", he said, flickering one lady glance up and down the length of the gauzy nightgown. "I was planning to wake you before leaving for work." he adjusted the chair back in and hunched over the table.

"Really, then let me get dressed. I want you to take me home.", Silver said, pretending she didn't hear their conversations.

"You would go home upon my return, take care." Diego said rudely, taking his jacket as he rushed out without looking at her side. She didn't even get the privilege to reply him back before he left.

"What the heck is this!?", She angrily demanded as she didn't realise Justin was still there.

"Miss, you need to calm yourself down. I'm sure he would come back before you know it then you can go home. You know how my boss could be, he rarely goes back to his decision whenever he makes one."

"Then I'm different. What sort of madness am I going to call this? He brought me here forcefully. Not like I wanted to follow him and now he's deciding when I am to go home. I hate you, Diego!" she yelled angrily, stamping her right foot on the floor.

                     BETHEL

Bethel swiped bitter, salty tears from her cheeks as she settled on the bed in her parents house and in the room she had stayed all her life before she relocated to her own house.

In her hand was the pregnancy result which states that she's two weeks pregnant. She knew the pregnancy is for James but how would she tell him she's pregnant or convince him that it's his baby? She couldn't think of a way to break the news to him.

She stared at the result, holding it, yet wishing it would change and more tears started to flow out more copiously. But what on earth was she getting so emotional about?, How long has it been since she'd thought about James after he left. And what pound was there in thinking about it, even now? That wouldn't change the result at all, it wouldn't change the adolescent years she had spent feeling abandoned, isolated, and alienated in a lonely but perfectionistic family.

She pressed a finger to her flat belly wondering if the result was real. She couldn't believe a baby was growing in her womb.

One hour later, she decided on what to do.

"Bethel sweetie...", A voice belonging to her father, rang from the living room on the ground floor. She stopped on the stairs at the sound of her father's voice, she froze for a moment, the memory riding along in her mind. That day seemed suddenly important beyond its original significance. Then, she blinked, rubbing her right brow again.

"Where are you going?", her dad has asked her mildly. She remembered grudgingly conceding that her dad had some cool, more than most dads. But that didn't mean she was going to give in and let him ruin her life. She wouldn't allow him do that.

"I'm heading out."

"With whom?", her dad inquired.

"Dad, I no longer understand you again. I don't know why you want to involve yourself in everything I do.", she paused before she continued. " I told you I want to go out and you're asking about the person that'll go with me. Dad, like seriously, I'm not a baby whose movement has to be monitored. The simple thing is that I want to go out, the rest is none of your business to know".

"That still isn't an answer to the question you're being asked, Lady. Who are you going out with?"

"My friend.", she answered flatly.

"Really? What location are you heading to with your friend?"

"I dunno. Just hanging out.", she said while doing her best to tug her halter top down over her exposed midriff and up over her exposed cleavage. There wasn't much hope of hitching the hip huggers any higher. The jeans fit her slim curves way too tightly for that.

She stopped fidgeting and settled her skinny arms in a right clutch over the bare skin at her waist. Not covering nearly enough, she couldn't look at her father in the eyes as he's a master at detecting a lie. She wanted to sneak out and see James and patiently converse on the issue of her pregnancy. Visiting his parents is certainly the best thing to do. Besides, she had met them once when she visited them with James while they were still dating though not anymore now.
