🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋

Monday came very slowly, but at least it was already Monday. I sat in Felix’s office for what felt like hours, but he didn't show up.

Just then, Greg walked in, and I stood up happily.

“It's nice to see you again, Greg,” I greeted.

“Have you seen me before?” he asked, blinking innocently, and I simply paused my lips. "Your contract lasts for three months. After 3 months, we will decide if we are to let you stay or drop you. Mr Desmond is currently going along a rough path; he's still holding onto his dead wife. He was diagnosed with PTSD and Depression. His wife, Benita James, died 3 years ago, and since then, he has not been himself.”

“This should be a secret, as you know Mr. Felix holds a high reputation in this country. Knowing that the heir to D&D corporation is dealing with mental issues could lead to a very big problem, affect the stock and prompt the board members to turn against him,” he added.

I nodded in understanding, and he continued.

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I lay spread out across the bed, my body sinking into the mattress as my mind drifted back to yesterday's events. The memory of Felix's words still lingered, echoing in my thoughts like a gentle hum. "Benita Celestine… Will you marry me?" He had said, his voice filled with emotion and sincerity. As I replayed the moment in my head, a mix of emotions boiled inside me. Excitement and joy wrestled with uncertainty and doubt. I thought about the future, about what this proposal could mean for us, and about the possibilities that lay ahead. My gaze wandered around the room, but my attention remained inward, lost in the jungle of my thoughts. As I lay there, the weight of the proposal settled upon me. It was a promise, a commitment, and a new chapter in our lives. My heart raced at the thought, and I couldn't help but smile, feeling a sense of anticipation and hope.Eventually, my thoughts began to untangle, and I realised that I was still lying on the bed, lost in y

🦋 FELIX 🦋 I sat at my desk, but I couldn't focus. Benita was on my mind, and I kept thinking about her. I was trying to work, but my brain won't cooperate. Every task felt like a chore, and I just stared blankly at my computer screen. My mind kept wandering back to thoughts of her. I wish I could clear my head and get some work done, but it's hard when she's all I can think about. Time was passing, and I was not getting anything done. I was stuck in this distracted state, unable to shake thoughts of her.Not wanting to struggle any longer, I pushed my chair back and stood up, feeling the sudden urge to go to her. I took a step forward, then another, as if my body was moving on its own. I felt restless, like I needed to be with her now.I took another look around the office, but everything seemed distant and unimportant. My mind was stubbornly fixed on Benita, and I just wanted to be with her. I took a deep breath, feeling the tension build inside me.Without thinking, I grabbed my

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I lay on the bed on my back with my phone in my right hand, scrolling through social media, the news of me and Felix had spread like wildfire and reading comments might definitely lead to my death before my supposed time of death.“She's a leech.”“Girl, just let him go and get a new man… are you that hungry for money?”“We all saw your drafted divorce agreement, and we all agreed when you signed it… Don't mess with us.”“Greedy whore!”Public opinion might seem not to matter, but it hits hard, you unknowingly find yourself caring about what they say and believing what they call you, you'd feel alone and confused, you’d feel pressed and overwhelmed.Nikita walked into my room and snatched my phone. “I told you not to read the comments.”“They know nothing about us,” I whispered. “Why judge us when they know nothing?”“Because they know nothing,” Nikita declared. “They speak like that because they know nothing. Don't let that weigh you down.”“But I don't want t

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I woke up half dead from a hangover, struggling to pick myself up from bed. I didn't know how or when I got home, but surprisingly, I woke up on my bed.I dragged myself up and walked over to the kitchen for some hangover tonic or anything that would help me not go crazy. There I saw Nikita, with a tomato on a cutting board, a knife in her left hand, and she was staring at her phone in her right hand, looking pale and shocked.“Did something happen?” I struggled to speak. “Did Judas send you a scary message or something? Did he curse you out?”Turning around, Nikita said nothing and just passed me the phone. I gawked at her curiously, “Did that potato really curse you out?”“Just read,” Nikita muttered coldly. It was a first.I wiped my eyes and concentrated on the news on her phone, alongside a video of Felix passionately kissing me. “Benita James, who now goes by Benita Celestine, was found with Felix Desmond, her supposed divorced husband, last night. He was

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I could feel the blood draining from my face as my body trembled.“Can you both stop fighting!” I screamed, and everyone froze, holding back their next attack.“Are you okay?” Felix asked worriedly.I shook my head, “Not exactly.”Nikita rushed towards me, “Is everything okay?”I looked at the message again, “Benita James, I know you are not dead, and I know who you are. Send all the money you have in your bank account, depending on the amount… I'll think about sparing you.”The phone fell from my trembling hands, and Felix picked it up. “Everyone leave my office now,” he commanded.Greg and Nikita reached the door but started fighting over who went first. Finally, Nikita pushed him away, and he fell with his butt on the ground; Nikita went first.“Hey,” Felix called, holding my left hand.“Do you know what would happen when the world finds out I'm Benita James?” My voice broke. “We would be torn apart; I won't be able to come even an inch close to you. • YOU WILL NEVER BE MY GOD, FELIX.   CHAPTER 56 — DON'T WAKE ME UP.

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I left Felix's mansion that morning feeling over the moon. It was the best happy day of my life, and all I could do was wish it would never shatter.I swung the door to my apartment open, and Nikita jumped out of nowhere.“Christ!” I screamed, “Why do you always jump like that when I get home?”“I feel like I've been waiting for you for ages,” she retorted. “I have something to say to you, Celestine.”“I have no strength in me, Nikki,” I complained, “Save it for later.”“But it's important, it's nothing fun… It's terror,” she cried out, clinging to my arm. “Why don't you have any strength? Where did the energetic Celestine go? Don't tell me… You did it?”“Did what?” I voiced.“The thing, you know…” She whispered with a smile on her face.I chuckled, “You are so innocent, yet corny. What do you want to say? I'm all ears”“About Judas…” she began.I shook my head in disagreement, “Hell no! I don't want to hear it.”“Celestine… It's chaos, I'm in trouble here, not
