She sounded extremely proud and confident!

This was enough to let Yin Xiaoxiao know that the rumors about Granny Jing were probably true. The matriarch of the Jing family was never one to be trifled with!

She continued smiling and her attitude even softened after Granny Jing's words. She looped her arm through Jing Liyuan's and asked playfully, "Well, there's no need to explain myself either!"

Yes, she knew she could rely on Jing Liyuan! He was her savior and she was extremely lucky to have him!

Granny Jing nodded and she looked at Jing Liyuan before her gaze shifted to Yin Xiaoxiao. She looked very satisfied with Yin Xiaoxiao's answer but this didn't mean that it would be easy for her to be accepted by the Jing family! Moreover, Yin Xiaoxiao wasn't expecting to be accepted so readily.

"Do you think you are a suitable match for my grandson? You should know how terrible your reputation is!" Granny Jing said without any tact and there was a tinge of irritation in her voice. "With a reputation like yours, your marriage is already a joke even before the wedding ceremony."

She placed particular emphasis on the word "joke" and there was a hint of scorn in her eyes.

Yin Xiaoxiao turned slightly pale. Anyone in her position would not be too pleased to hear those words, and even though she had mentally steeled herself for this, she hadn't expected Granny Jing to lay down the truth so pointedly!

She took a deep breath, looked up to face Granny Jing, and said with determination, "Granny Jing, I have never once made excuses, nor can I explain my scandalous reputation."

Everyone turned to look at Yin Xiaoxiao in disbelief.

They had to admit that she was a brave woman as most women would take their reputation very seriously, but not only had she admitted that she had a poor reputation, she had even added that she couldn't explain herself. If it had been anyone else, they would have been kicked out of the house upon saying those words.

"If you can't explain yourself, why do you think we should accept you as our daughter-in-law?" Jing Liyuan's mother, Yu Jiahui, said. Her dissatisfaction was clear in her voice.

Yin Xiaoxiao turned to Yu Jiahui and said calmly, "Mrs. Jing, even if I have the world's glibbest tongue, I won't be able to defend myself against those who are deliberately out to smear my reputation. Since that's the case, why should I make myself a laughing stock by putting on a pitiful act? As for the Jing family, I'm sorry to have inconvenienced you."

She quietly bowed low in apology and she seemed genuinely sincere and humble.

Her frank attitude and polite demeanor meant that she did not embarrass Jing Liyuan in front of his family, but instead, had made him seem even more impressive! The Jing family clearly liked her attitude. Although they couldn't bring themselves to accept her into the family so readily, they were not averse to the idea.

"You brat! Aren't you going to hand it over? Or are you waiting for me, an elderly woman, to run the background checks myself? Don't tell me you're waiting for us to kick your wife out of the house!" Granny Jing suddenly said furiously as she picked up the mango on the table and hurled it at Jing Liyuan. She continued in a nagging tone, "You little brat, are you just sitting there enjoying the show? Hand over the documents or don't blame me for being tough on her!"

Yin Xiaoxiao couldn't help but sigh in relief. Now that Granny Jing had addressed her as his wife, this meant that she was willing to accept Yin Xiaoxiao as part of the family. The look in Mr. and Mrs. Jing's eyes had also softened.

Jing Liyuan caught the mango with a smile and didn't say anything else. He finally picked up the document he had placed inside a gift box. The document was of just two pages and detailed Yin Xiaoxiao's life at the Yin family since she was a child. He had only looked into her reputation and hadn't conducted background checks on any other areas.

He led her to sit on the sofa while his family read through the report and gave her the mango. Yin Xiaoxiao sniffed it when no one was looking.

Her favorite fruit was mango, but it was the fruit that he hated most!

He was about to say something when Granny Jing rolled up the document and flung it at him. She said huffily, "You brat, how dare you trick me? Are you tired of living?"

He didn't even dodge the blow, just pushed the ball of paper away with his hand, and shielded Yi Xiaoxiao from the incoming projectile. His next words caused the Jin family to freeze in shock. "Grandma, please don't be so aggressive, or I won't let you hold my son or daughter when he or she is born!"

Granny Jing immediately moved to sit beside Yin Xiaoxiao and asked expectantly, "My dear girl, are you pregnant? How far along are you?"

Before Yin Xiaoxiao could react, she saw the smug look on Grandma Jing's face and the shocked looks on Yu Jiahui's and Jing Yuanfeng's faces as they stared at her flat belly.

She immediately blushed furiously and she heard Grandma Jing say smugly, "I always knew my youngest grandson had it in him!"

Yin Xiaoxiao didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She wasn't even pregnant, so how was she going to present them with a child? If she tried to clarify matters now, would things change?
