"Yes, you have lived through a horribly abusive situation and came out on the other end even stronger than before. I think instead of asking yourself if you should do this you should ask yourself why you're hesitating, and why you're scared," Mia stated adamantly.

I couldn't help but chuckle, "Do you know how much you sound like your mother?"

"Lizzie, you may be an hour away, but I'll still come down there and kick your butt if you don't watch it," she growled menacingly into the phone.

I laughed out loud the sound startling the birds drawing my attention their way. My heart began to race as I looked over to see Jack and Jordan with a heated look on their faces that, from the stance of their bodies, I knew had nothing to do with passion.

"Mia, I gotta go," I responded and hung up quickly before she even could say goodbye.
