Chapter 56

"I can't believe you crawled out the window," Jordan said for the hundredth time.

We had flown into Phoenix late last night and then drove out to the house that Jack had been staying at. Apparently, Jack had gone to his grandfather's house. A place that, according to Jordan, he hadn't been to since his grandfather had died.

"I told you not to leave me behind," I reminded him with a sweet smile on my face.

"Lizzie, that's not the point. The point is you could have gotten hurt, and you didn't even care."

"No, Jordan, I do care. But you didn't care that I wanted to go with you to get my Master back. Look, I love you, but without Jack, it feels incomplete."

The car swerved and I gripped the seat a bit then looked over at Jordan quickly to see if what the hell he was doing. He pulled the car over on the side of the road and looked at me with a shocked expression on his face.
