Over the next few days, Ella seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth. Not even a single text.

Nick sat in his oversized leather office chair, fingers tapping the desk in agitation.

This was completely outside his expectations.

In the past five years, Ella had never gone more than six hours without reaching out to him.

Whenever he gave her the slightest cold shoulder, she would come running, desperate to win him back and trying every trick she knew.
