Daniel's POV

“We got the CCTV footage of the day she left. I think someone tried to destroy the footage, but we were able to retrieve it,” the head guard spoke while Darryl played the video.

“It's obvious that someone had it all planned out, to wipe off the footage of that day,” the guard added while I looked intensely at the footage taken from that day.

I was burning in rage as the scene where Regina was being humiliated and forced to kneel played next. “Who opened the gate for them to enter?” I asked after watching the video.

The guard looked confused and scared. I was seething, and my fists were clenched. I almost believed that Regina had left me and even thought that she'd taken off with my black card, wristwatch, and the document, but then I discovered that she was killed by William's and that fact still haunts me.

I wished I had stayed with her that day. Perhaps, none of this could've happened, and she would have still been alive but nothing I do would ever bring her back. S
