The flight to Bonnet Island Estate was still 50 minutes away from taking off. Arthur and his little family were in the waiting lounge for the first class passengers.

Emily was seated on the couch, having a cup of coffee, and reading a magazine. Arthur was right next to her, with Amity sleeping, leaning onto his chest.

The little princess had dozed off to sleep as soon as she was showered and dressed. Her parents realized that early morning flights are definitely not her thing.

“Travelling early morning is definitely not her thing,” Emily said.

Arthur chuckled, “Yeah. She needs to do everything in her comfort.”

“Are you okay?” she turned to him, closing the magazine.

“About what?” he asked.

“Like going to meet up with your old friends. I don’t know what has happened. But I can feel you are slightly uncomfortable.”

“Nothing. I am fine.” He turned to the other side and looked outside the window. He didn’t want to talk about it. Actually, he didn’t know what to talk to or say to Emily.

She simply nodded her head and got back to the magazine. But she couldn’t continue to read whatever she was earlier. She was sure Arthur had something of his that he didn’t want to share with anyone. Even with her. She didn’t want to force him to talk to her about it.

A flight attendant approached them, “Sir, Ma’am, the flight is ready to take off, you can board now.”

“Okay,” Emily said and got up, grabbing her bag and Amity’s little bag which she had filled with toys. Arthur got up with Amity in his arms. She squirmed in his arms when she felt movements. And then clung onto his neck with both of her arms. Arthur patted her back, trying to comfort her.

They walked to the flight and got into their seats. Shortly after that, the flight took off.

Arthur had sat in between Amity and Emily’s seats. He soon dozed off to sleep after some time of reading a business magazine. He was tired too, of a lot of things.

Emily looked at her husband and daughter. They held the same face when they were sleeping. The same resting face, but one was totally transparent and the other one was secretive. She had no clue how to crack the wall Arthur had built around him. Sure, he loves Emily and treats her the best possible way and respects her. Emily can feel that too. But she knew there was something bothering Arthur about attending this wedding. She could only wait and see what happens at the wedding.

She tried to get some sleep since she also had woken up early to do the last minute packing for their traveling.

On the other side, Ethan had Vanessa with him while he went to the airport. She had offered to personally drive him to the airport. She had a bad feeling about sending him away. But didn’t know why. Perhaps she had a feeling that she’d lose him. But to whom? That was an unanswered question to her too.

“You didn’t have to come to drop me off,” Ethan said. He was sitting in the passenger seat and leaning onto the seat.

“I wanted to,” she replied without looking at him.

And suddenly they went on silence for a while. Vanessa had a lot of questions to ask. He was going to meet up with his friends. There could be anyone who might catch his attention or someone who had done in the past. Despite being well aware of his sexuality, she still felt insecure about Ethan.

“Can I ask you something?”

“That’s so unlike you,”

“What?” she asked turning to him.

He sat properly in his seat and pushed her face towards the front, to see the road.

“You don’t ask priorily to question anything,”

Vanessa rolled her eyes making Ethan laugh. The Vanessa he knew all these years was definitely not the one who would be polite. Sure, she was a nice girl. But definitely not a polite one. She was rather a badass kind.

“Ok, ask,”

“Did.. Do you love someone else?” she asked, unsure if she asked it in the right way.

Ethan sighed, “I did. I do. I think I will love him forever. But…”

“What but?” she asked.

“We broke up as soon as our college years came to an end.”

“Why?” now, she was more than curious to know about it.

“I don’t know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know?”

“I just don’t know. He wanted to break up with me. And we did. That’s it.”

Vanessa realized Ethan had his fair share of heartbreaks.

“What’s his name? What does he do now?” she asked, curiosity was bugging her to know who was the guy that broke Ethan’s heart.

“Arthur Perry. And I don’t know what he’s doing now. All I know is his father owns the largest construction company in California.”

Vanessa nodded her head. She too wondered what would Arthur be doing now. If they meet up at the wedding, would they resume their relationship or would Arthur be settled already or would Ethan find someone else.

Ethan rubbed Vanessa’s hair making her turn to him, “What are you thinking?”

“Nothing,” she shook her head.

“You are very bad at lying,”

She sighed and scrunched onto her seat. She knew she was as transparent as glass to Ethan.

“I was just thinking of the possibilities as to what will happen at the wedding,” she said softly.

“We sync there,”

 She simply nodded her head.

They reached the airport soon after the talk and he got out of the car and headed towards the entrance.

He had said Vanessa to not get out of the car because of the media problems. He bid bye to her and said to her that he’ll be back soon. And he had placed a kiss on her forehead and a short hug.

What will happen at the wedding, is to be known only by attending.
