"Elissa, what are you doing here? We'll talk tomorrow about how we're going to handle all this. I need time to think." My old flame walks coquettishly towards me, our son following her. The boy is clearly curious about me; I can feel that he craves my attention. And of course, I will not disappoint him, once I have rested and made arrangements with his mother, he will have my full attention.

I must come to terms with these surprising circumstances, which is important for all parties in this.

"Jonston and I will stay here in your flat. That's final. The boy wants to be close to his father, he has a right to you, Alvarez," she says quietly but insistently. "We will stay here with you, like a real family."

Look, I am really too tired to argue with her now, so I turn my head away, pat the boy on the head and go into my bedroom. The warriors have already put my bags in the wardrobe. I go straight to the bathroom, what I need now is a hot bath. It has been a
