“I think you should leave”. After watching Rei down her sixth cup of tea, my curiosity fades.

Now I remember the reason why I hate having guests over. Those teabags were expensive as fuck.

She sits there, blinking at me in faux innocence. It makes me want to slam my head against the wall. “I thought you were interested in this”.

She taps the black disc on the table twice.

I eye both it and her in disdain. “My interest died around the time you poured your fourth cup”.

Sakura snickers. Yes, Sakura.

Being the gossip that she is— she refused to go to bed upon meeting Rei. I can understand her being curious, but this information that the tea-thief wants to share seems a bit dangerous.

Like a poisoned chalice.

But Sakura isn’t a true gossip for nothing.

“Wouldn’t it be rude to leave the teapot half full?”. Ah. That innocent tone is starting to piss me off.

“But six cups? Six cups of tea?”. I want her gone already. “What are you? Dehydrated?”.

    “Who are you calling an idiot?”. Damn this snake. “Can’t you see that we don’t want anything to do with this?”. Rei sits there, blinking at me in fake innocence. “But you’re already involved”. “Are you some kind of parrot?”. She’s always going on about how ‘involved’ I am— Why does no one listen when I say that I would rather not be a part of anything? “You keep repeating the same shit”. I need to go to bed. It’s late. “It’s already gotten old”. God knows how tired I am of this shit. “That's not what I mean”. She says, her eyes narrowing. “I discovered this footage by accident. If anyone were to trace my actions, it would lead them straight to you, because I met up with you first. “ Sakura inhales sharply, eyes widening as understanding dawns on her. She rises in rage. “You! I let you into my home and you dare to bring problems with you? And on purpose?”. Oh. She’s mad. I am too, but I’m too sleepy to even muster up the energy to be angry. “Calm down, Hoshino”.

  • You’re Courting Me?!    EIGHTY-ONE|| A Waste Of Time?

    “Wait. Go hide then pop out and try to scare me again”. Sorahiko shoos her away. Yukimura Rei stares at him with an unimpressed look. “I’m being serious here”. “Let me see…you hung around in a dark alley, waiting for me to dispose of my trash, by—”. Sorahiko glances at his wrist as if to check the time. Seeing he isn’t wearing a wristwatch, he snaps his fingers and exclaims mockingly. “By almost ten p.m., just to tell me something important?” His eyes gleam in the darkness. “Even calling you a stalker now feels wrong.” “Yeah. And so what?”. Rei stands facing him. Unbothered and unruffled. Not by the weirdness of the situation, and definitely not by Sorahiko. He kind of wants to smack her for that. Sorahiko exhales wearily. “You know what?”. He takes a step back from the alley. “Whatever this is, it’s way beyond me. So I am going to call Miyamura, because I…”. Rei says nothing for a moment. “You can call him…”. She flashes a chilling smile, but Sorahiko can’t se

    Miyamura ends up asking Sorahiko to get him a cup of coffee. Cowardly. He knows. He just needed a break— He needed to clear his head. That was too much at once. ‘That alphas are at the top, betas are below, and omegas are at the bottom’. ‘An omega like me cannot disrespect a dominant alpha like you’. ‘What I do know is that there is nothing you would tell me to do that I could refuse’. He exhales as he presses the heels of his hands on his eyes— he should never have asked. Just thinking about it again fills him with a sense of annoyance. “Damn it”. Without knocking this time, Sorahiko walks in with a tray. He places it on the center table and steps back— his movements reminiscent of a prey animal scurrying to safety. Miyamura’s weird behavior has tired him mentally The alpha hums to himself in appreciation. Four packs of sugar, and a medium-sized packet of cream. Just how he likes it. “You can sit there if you want”. He gestures dismissively to the sofa o

    “Come in!”. No matter how many times Miyamura tells me to stop knocking on his door and just walk in, I will not listen. I would rather err on the side of caution. I walk into his office, trying not to drag my feet. No matter how much I want to. “You said you wanted to see me, Sir”. I deliberately keep my gaze on Miyamura’s desk, pointedly avoiding eye contact. It’s not even about following the rules anymore. I don’t want to catch his crazy. “You sure did take your time”. He complains. Well, I did linger around the elevator doors before coming up. I wanted him to get all the crazy out of his system before I got here. “I apologize, I had a lot of work to follow up on”. I lower my head in apology. “I’m sorry for wasting your time, Sir”. “It’s fine. I’m not angry at you”. He waves off my apology with a dismissive attitude. “But I do require compensation”. I see— I am going to ignore that. “I believe there was something important to discuss, Sir?”. I calmly def

    The sky is blue. The birds are chirping loudly. Today promises to be a wonderful day. I walk into the HQ lobby, greet the security guards, and l hang around to chat with the receptionist for at least five minutes. Everyone knows that the reception desk is where all the gossip congregates. The best time to acquire private gossip is early in the morning. If you can’t find time, then lunchtime is also a viable option. As I chat with the well-mannered receptionist, I watch other employees out of the corner of my eye. The lobby is bustling with all sorts of activity. Employees check in while greeting other employees. Members of the security team move around, on the lookout for any sort of suspicious behavior. The energetic atmosphere calms me a bit. And everything was going so well until— “Sorahiko darling! I’ve missed you!”. Miyamura walks into the lobby, announcing at the top of his voice. All important and non-important conversations pause. The wonderful re
