Chapter 3: Fodder to Feast upon

A huge carriage scurried into the palace, the bride was being carried in it.....

Tazz stoop up, all excited, his mother smiled “hold your breath son, here comes your princess” Tazz could not wait to get a glimpse of Maya, he was afraid that he might get struck by her beauty and die of heart attack.. albeit.. happily.

The guests all rose up as the carriage passed by them towards the little island, all eyes on it Sim and Naina were the first ones to run near the carriage as it was bought to a halt in the centre of the hall, they excitedly lifted the drape of the carriage.. all excited… but a soon as the drapes were lifted their big smiles froze, wide eyed, their stare fixed on something and there was shock all over their face. The guests who could peek in side all fell silent with shock.. ‘was this some kind of a joke ?’ someone said. Tazz and his mom felt that something was odd about the guests reaction..

There was pin drop silence and no one moved, Tazz’s mom walked towards the carriage to help the bride out , the guests all gave weird looks.. “they didn’t know what they were in for: “this is so shocking”, “I feel sorry for Tazz”

“What kind of a bride did he think he was getting to this family” “ what a fool’

All sorts of remarks filled the air, all looked at Tazz with pity, some genuine, some sarcastic… Tazz’s mother as well as family members panicked as they heard all the remarks. Tazz’s mom neared the carriage, she couldn’t get a clear glimpse due to people around till she reached the carriage, she stood still as she realised what happened “Whats wrong mom?’ “Is Maya ok?’ “Mom,”

Tazz could not hold it any longer, , the drizzle out side turned into heavy rains, the grey clouds became darker and the thundering loud.

Tazz hurried to the carriage and was shocked, the carriage was empty, Maya wasn’t there, instead there was a a beautifully decorated envelope.

Tazz bent down, with trembling hands he picked up the envelope and opened it, he pulled out a folded paper and understood it was a letter, he unfolded it and began to read..

‘Tazz, please forgive me, I cant do this anymore, I tried saying this many times but you wouldn’t understand, I don’t love you.. I never loved you,” each sentence was like a painful slit made on his heart with a sharp knife, “ I only wanted your money, but you still don’t have all the rights to Jindal empire, apart from your money, you were only a mistake for me, the biggest mistake that I ever made.” Tazz couldn’t read the letter any further, his eyes stung as he fell on his knees.

His cousin Samrat , who was standing beside him took the letter and continued reading it aloud

“Luckily, God has given me another chance....  I have found a better option.... don’t mind Tazz, but I have found the true love of my life , the kind of man that I was seeking...., a man who is better in both, Money and Bed.” As Samrat was reading the letter aloud, the guests heard the contents and many expressed their shock at the last sentence.

Samrat continued reading, “Ill try and let you pass as an unpleasant memory, you may do the same Tazz. Goodbye, this may be painful but not final… If we ever meet again or bump into each other, be cordial, take care and once again… Goodbye!”

apart from the letter there were more contents in the envelope, Samrat pulled out a stack of photos, he instantly shut his eyes. Tazz pulled them from Samrat and was shocked, they were Maya’s pictures in a compromising position, getting intimate with a man in bed.The pictures fell from Tazz’s hands and he almost faltered backwards, Samrat had to support him as he fell down on his knees.

The crowd broke into loud chattering and yammering, like starved cattle found fodder to feast upon after a long time.. and which cattle would disapprove of such rich and classy fodder. As expected, There was chaos amongst the guests present, the festive atmosphere was pierced with gloom and gossip…

“Huh what a bitch!’ ‘how did a mere nobody fool a guy who is the elder heir to Jindal empire’

‘Was he really blind’ someone sarcastically commented ‘she found someone better in bed.. does that mean ??????

Tazz who was on his knees was in a state of shock, his face broke into a sweat, anger flushed his cheek and he felt blood rushing to his brain ‘Ill try and forget you as an unpleasant memory’ the words hit hard like a nail being hammered into his heart.

All sorts of speculations began to circle around the venue, some cursed Maya, while some tried to mean that Tazz was a 2 minute noodle in bed, some even laughed.

This way, in a matter of moments, The elder heir of the most powerful family in North became the laughing stock for people, though all spoke and gossiped discreetly, yet everyone knew what all were gossiping about.

Alas! the man who wanted to be the centre of Envy for marrying the most gorgeous woman... became the subject of ridicule for ‘attempted’ marriage to the most unfaithful woman in city .
