11. Because you are still mine

"What are you willing to do to get your freedom?" He focused my eyes for long moments, he seemed confident in what he was doing, is he putting me to the test once again?

The last time he offered me the possibility of being free he was just testing me.

Gradually the moon was dyed with blood, I felt my soul gradually leaving my body.

"What are you willing to do for your life?" The feeling of superiority creeping in more and more taking over his entire body whenever he takes the vampire powers, he becomes colder and more calculating, he smiles seeing my panic calling into question his little probability games.

"I will have full control of your life, your soul will belong to me" he smiled once more "you will finally be mine" saying that he approached again.

"Give yourself to your master, come to me" I lowered the stake immediately and on his return Auria from that place completely changed, it was as if he had cast a spell on me, I no longer felt my body and he walked without haste until to meet Alec, the room then took on the color of the moon bathed in blood

Alec's bloodied arms opened in front of me and my body walked obediently towards him, then his arms held my body tightly, enveloping him in a tender and warm hug making me hear the rapid beats of his heart.

At that moment the first memories I had with Alec rolled through my head, remembering what I've really become since that day the day he preserved my life.

Strange, very strange, to this day I wonder why he did that, why he didn't just let me die, why did he feel sorry for my life?

His chalice, yes I am his chalice and nothing will change that, I can't remember my previous life if I have parents or family waiting for me, if I had dreams, desires, goals... This is my life now.

At that moment the moon and the sun came together and the moonlight illuminated our entire bodies. Alec smiled at me when he saw me almost fall in his arms, he then gently bit my neck and with his bloodstained lips he kissed my mouth.

The characteristic metallic taste of blood took possession of my mouth with that kiss, sucking my energy little by little and the longer the moonlight stayed on us the more it took possession of my soul.

Will this be my Destiny?

Thousands of seconds before the moon moved away from the sun I exerted an effort on my arm and for a short time I had control of it again without even thinking I drove the stake into my abdomen.

I looked into Alec's eyes one last time before I blacked out and enveloped myself in the deep void.

Alec's thoughts

"What are you doing?" His brave act left me impressed.

I picked her up in my arms and carried her home.

I watched her calmly, she slowly opened her eyes and then blinked several times then looked at her body lying on the bed and then at me in surprise.

"Did I die? Is this hell?" I laughed at your silly conclusion

"Yes you died" she looked around her as nothing had changed she looked at me disappointed her sad look makes her so... No, I won't think about it, not now.

Why do you always have to disobey and stay in that situation?

"You're braver than I thought, did you think killing yourself would get rid of me?" She looked at me then looked away and watched the moonlight.

"Did the call break?"

"No" I replied immediately "you can try to kill yourself one two three times or as many more times as you want, your soul is mine I decide if you die or not"

"Why don't you just let me die?" She asked decisively "why me? Why did you have to save me? It was much easier if you had let me die"

Rose's POV

He looked annoyed at me, approached the bed and pulled me towards him making me look at his eyes now dyed red.

"Never do that again, ever" he said, squeezing my arms tightly and looking into both my eyes at the same time.

"Then why ?" He stopped and stared for long seconds at my eyes and then my mouth, he seemed to be thinking about a certain subject he then grabbed me and kissed me.

He kissed me forcefully, I struggled in his arms for seconds but then I got involved in his kiss, in his touches, my mouth claimed his and that was undeniable, the kiss got faster and then we were interrupted with knocks on the door .

We broke apart as soon as we heard the door.

"Excuse me sir, may I come in?" It was a voice I'd never heard before—probably one of Alec's servants.

"come in"

"Sorry to interrupt sir, we are being attacked" hearing this Alec got ready to leave.

"Stay here and protect Rose"

"Alec, where are you going?" I ran into his arms.

"Stay here and don't leave, use this stake if necessary"

"Why are you protecting me?"

"because you are still mine!"
