“I have no intention to offer you a seat,” Alpha Darren spoke, a reckless look in his eyes. Before he spoke further, his ears picked up the sounds of footsteps. Soon, the other Betas joined them. “We have offered you enough comfort by giving you a place to stay. You can’t be too comfortable either, I am certain you get my point.”

He settled his hand fan on the table and his dark-chocolate skin glistened in the light of the room for a second.

With all her strength, Zaramanni tried to rip off her shirt. If she needed to go naked to get free from the murderous hold, she would do it. She didn’t care. When Zoey left her room after ensuring her hand was bandaged despite it not hurting, Zaramanni got to know that sleep would not come to her. So, she got off her bed and sneaked past Clarissa who turned her back to her to prepare some heated water.Clarissa was highly apologetic toward Zara when she found out what her mate, rather, ex-mate did. The woman almost ended up in tears when she saw Zara’s reddened palm. While she said Andrea deserved more than a thousand slaps, she thanked Zara for helping her and she apologized for dragging the girl into her mess.Of course, Zaramanni found the apologies unnecessary.All she did was deal with a man-wolf who had no regard for the person he shared a bond with. Though something told her that he was just weaving words to scare her for his pleasure. Eyes trained on the creature, she asked, “Which of the wolves?”“I don’t know who, but I overheard their conversation. They are after you, Zaramanni. While low kissing sounds filled the space, distant howls reached Zaramanni and Zoey’s ears. But that moment became more intense that the outside world became foreign to them.The tall man-wolf gently pushed Zara against the wall and one of his hands went on to have a firm grip around her neck. With that hold, he moved her head the way he pleased. He did that to help him gain more and more access to her luscious lips which managed to match the heated pace at which Zoey kissed her.While he ran his tongue over the length of Zara’s tongue, Zoey teased her lips and the insides of her mouth with his tongue. Almost roughly, he dug his teeth into the softness of her lower lip.Zara noted how different his hold was from the previous times. This time, he was more demanding with his touches. Staring at the lifeless body of the Overlord made King Darren feel more dread. Even in death, the eerie aura that followed the leader of Skullis still existed.Without making much noise, the men that transported the Overlord from the seated position he was found, covered the dead body and stood aside, awaiting the next set of instructions.A terrible tugging in his chest, Darren took his sight off the Overlord’s body. He looked past the windows and saw how the moon kept shining bright, unaware that some sort of a disaster had befallen the kingdom.Overlord Zamar dying in Zenrada could go wrong in so many ways. Alpha Darren knew for sure that the people of Skullis would use the unforeseen incident as an excuse to fully threaten Zenrada with war.Or worse, they could attack them in the dead of the night. If the Vampires are able to block the energy of Zenrada’s moon just like the fairies did, there was no doubt that things would go wrong for Zenrada no matter the strength of the wolves.
