-ANNA-

"From now on you'll go by the name Noelle."

At first, I thought it was some nasty joke that he was playing, but as the day passed by, I didn't see it as that anymore. He made my life filled with care and danger, one much more intense than Jake ever did. Teaching me how to walk and how to eat and also reading books to me like I was a little child.

Whenever he did that, I found myself entangled in this thought. What if I were brought up to be a warrior instead of a princess? I mean, I've seen ladies who joined the warriors badge and made countless efforts to fight for their packs. I always wondered how that felt, but now that I was in it, there was no other choice for me than to accept this new fate of mine.

"Noelle!" His deep voice resonated in my ears.

It had been six months since I had been given a chance to live again. A chance to be seen not as Anna, the fat and rusty Luna that had been thrown out by her so-called husband, but as Noelle, who had been saved by the million-year-old demon known to create and destroy peace based on his mood.

He walked into the room, his hair now dreadlocked in such a way that it covered his dark eyes. I could see the red earrings that made his black cargo look so cool. If I didn't know any better, he looked like a model on one of those hot wolves magazines. With the dark-framed eyeglasses and the lens, I just knew he had a hidden agenda.

"You're coming with me."

He grabbed me by the hand, making me walk hand in hand towards the door. Throughout the past six months in his apartment, I had never once seen the sunshine, nor did I recognize how blinding it could be. He had me training while taming me like his own kid for six months with the sole aim of preparing me for the operation.

It wasn't blinding or filled with dangerous scenarios, but I survived. Little did I know that six months with this demon could make my heart ache so bad. It was bad; I could tell from the reaction of my body that I was vulnerable to him, that I would fold with the slightest touch. Confessing wasn't an option, not when I had a mission to take up.

As the door opened up, I closed my eyes so I could adjust to the sunlight. When I finally regained my sight, the image before me made my chest ache. Numerous warriors, all in dark armor, were on either side of the door with their heads bowed down. They had dark crests on their shoulders and spades of red lined up on their pants.

I motioned towards him, a smirk hanging on his lips. Then he grabbed my hand, waving it in the air. "Listen up, soldiers." He held me tight, leading me to the middle of the men. "From today onwards, Noelle here is my mistress."

They all slammed their fists into the grass, creating sounds that synced like drum rolls. Sounds of gallops soon aligned with it, the neighs of a horse coming through. I thought they did it until I saw the black horse that had touches of red in it.

One of the soldiers appeared before us, masks of black and red in his hands. Nick grabbed the black mask, taking off his glasses before putting it on and covering himself up with a dark coat. I gulped down my fears when he handed me the red masks, which matched the red dress I was in.

"No matter what you do in that chamber, do not take off this mask." He said, his voice deep and domineering.

He climbed the horse like it was nothing, and the next minute I was bound by those strong and domineering arms, riding a stallion at an insane speed.

…After hours of intense hurdles and cuddles, the horse finally slowed down in front of the silver-colored walls. I never realized that such changes could be made in a year. The memories of that night still haunt me like it was yesterday.

"Noelle, let me give you a warning before we take on this path before us. Not a single mistake is allowed. A slight mistake and I wouldn't hesitate to end your life." He whispered into my ear.

I had gotten so comfortable with him that I almost forgot our initial agreement. He would help me get revenge if I became his mistress and followed all his orders accordingly. The deal would also be broken if I failed, and he would have no choice but to eliminate me to protect his ego.

The ground shook as the brick wall opened up to reveal my hometown, the Flaming Moon pack. We continued our journey till we got to the Alpha's lair. The one place that held all my memories.

Upon reaching the entrance, my eyes met with a familiar fellow. The charming devil that had stolen my heart to gain power and thrashed me out before I could have a say in it.

"It's an honor to have you over, Alpha Nicky." Jake let out a smile as Nicholas helped me down from his stallion.

When I found Jake's eyes trailing my body, I knew I had indeed undergone a change. No sooner than later, a lady walked towards him, slender but not as sexy as me. I could remember those daring eyes that haunted me and the body that took away my pride and left me with nothing.

"And who do we have here?" Jake disrupted the silence, his eyes glued to my body in a lustful gaze.

"She is my mistress," Nicky said. His hands moved along my waistline before bringing me closer to himself.

"Noelle." I stretched forth my hand.

Linda's initial happiness faded into the heavens. Leaving her all gloomy and broken. She tugged at his trousers, but he didn't flinch, taking my hand and placing a kiss on it.

As much as it was disgusting, I knew I had succeeded in the first phase. A kiss of vengeance was the rite of passage, and he had just given it to me on a silver platter.

Alpha Nicholas Shafter's POV Darkness. That was all I saw. I found myself in an endless void where no wind stirred, there were no stars, and there was also no sound, not even echoes. The only thing I heard was the slow pounding of my own heart. This was not the first time I would be here. In fact, I felt like I spent most of my lifetime, drifting in this dark abyss. Sitting down with my knees pulled closer to my chest and my arms wrapped around myself as if I wanted to protect my body from the emptiness. My lips kept trembling as I whispered into the dark. "Why me?" My own voice came back to me and I quickly gulped. "Why was I born only to suffer? Why do I keep coming back here?" My eyes closed and the memories came back. I was the unwanted child, the son of the Alpha who was not wanted by his father. I was the illegitimate prince of the Shafter Pack and I was born into the palace not as a son but as a servant, an omega. My father’s concubines always looked at me with di

Anna's POV Everything I had gone through started flowing back into my head. Starting from what I went through in Linda's and Alpha Jake's hands. I was supposed to have a happy ending not one to get destroyed by Alice and the invincible army created by her uncle, James. Even when I became the Alpha, all the sacrifices I made for the pack, my father's legacy. I had to kill this man to make sure all that were not wasted. No matter how hard this proved to be, I must see it to the end. It was just like a second chance for me. "I only wanted to save myself and the people of my time," I whispered to myself. My hands trembled as I looked at him. "Just to make sure that Alice won't have the invincible army before I leave this world." My eyes narrowed. The words in my mind sharpened into a vow and it encouraged me. "I can't let you live, Alpha Nicholas Shafter." I pulled out a dagger and raised it up with my fingers stiffened around the hilt. Slowly, I stepped forward with the aim of

Anna's POV Before she could realize what was happening, I slammed a sharp strike into the side of her neck and her eyes bulged instantly while she exhaled a strangled gasp. I brought up my low voice after a dry chuckle. "Didn't you say you are the best in the pack. If you, the best is like this, how will the worst be."? Immediately, Wendy collapsed and her body hit the ground with a thud. Her eyes were still wide open in disbelief but the twinkle in her eyes had vanished. I dusted off imaginary sand away from my sleeve and walked off without sparing him another glance. I followed Wendy's direction and found myself at Alpha Nicholas' Fort. Torches glowed faintly against the night with long shadows against the stone walls. A handful of guards were patrolling the gate while their armor kept clinking softly. "Your Highness!" They stopped and bowed politely with respect as they caught a hold of my sight. I did not respond but my expression was a mask of cold determination. I cont

Anna's POV I quickly remembered everything Sturbridge told me about the man I came here to kill. He was the most powerful back in his time; no one could match his power, and he was literally not killable. The only way I could kill him was to get to him before he became a celestial demon. He didn't become a celestial demon until he got me, his wife, pregnant. So I had to kill him now before he would get me pregnant, easy peasy. On the other hand, for some reason that I didn't know, Wendy kept shivering violently beside me. She didn't seem cold but her bones kept rattling as if frost had pierced into her marrow. It seemed like she was suspecting that something must have awakened in me. She turned her head away as her breath kept hitching. My stern eyes bore into her with sharpness as if I had a killing intent so deep, like I wanted to claw at her soul. "Hey, Wendy!" I said with a thin and dangerous smile. "How do I get back to my residence? How do I get back to my husband?" We

Anna's POV My breath felt like it was caught and squeezed by a giant invisible hand while my chest constricted. Out of all the cursed names and all the cursed places, Shafter Pack was the only one I wouldn't wish anyone to get associated with. My father used to tell me about them, how powerful, brutal, and merciless they were. Their power and brutality were so bad that all the other packs came together to annihilate them before my time. Sturbridge's words were also clear and simple. The only way to defeat Alice was to go back to the past to kill Margaretta's mother's ex-husband within his pack territory. And that pack was none other than the Shafter Pack. Sharp chills swept over my spine and I felt as if ice was cutting into my marrow. My gaze snapped back to Wendy in despair. "Tell me his name," I demanded. Wendy blinked as if she was confused by the intensity of my tone. "His name, my Lady?" "Yes!" my voice cracked as it had become raw with fear while my heart thundered in

Anna's POV Despite being an unexpected piece of information, I did not linger on it. I still had plenty of time to know about this world and the woman who owned this body that I had just taken over. For now, I should be focused on finding her particular husband and how to get the power to kill him. I sat down cross-legged with my breath steady and my hands formed into a triangular shape. My current goal was clear and that was to forge a spiritual root in this body so that I could absorb some of my powers from my timeline. I could sense that her frame was fragile compared to my trained Alpha body, but it was still adaptable. Just as fragile bodies could react fast when they drink poison or hurt themselves and go through grueling hardship, fragile bodies could also be coaxed easily and reshaped to fit the desired needs. That was something I learnt from Nicholas. I just had to guide it into readiness. Now, it was time to start building it for transformation. I closed my eyes and dr
