-ANNA-"How sure are you?" I asked, my voice unsteady. The doctor gazed back at me, a smile on his face as he handed me the paper, which I realized was the result of the test. He nodded his head, and I found myself skimming through the content, my hands trembling as I tried to figure out the truth. "It's a boy!" I yelled unconsciously. He chuckled a bit before handing me an envelope of what seemed to be medicine and procedures to keep the baby healthy until birth. We both rejoiced until he dropped the billion-dollar question, "When do you plan to tell the Alpha?" My lover, my husband, the Alpha of the Flaming Moon pack, Jake Sparrow, known for his might and amazing intellectual ability, would probably be surprised that I had conceived after three years of searching. When I first realized that I had conceived, I tried telling him, but he waved it off to go on a business trip. "Two months," he said to me before he left, but he didn't respond to calls and had only just returned yeste

-ANNA-The beeping of the monitor rang in my ear. My eyes slowly open, the lingering scent of incense blending into my nose. I tried to stand, but my body ached, my hands were burning, and my tummy felt hotter than fire. I groaned as I tried to sit back, taking the pain in as I tried to check myself out.I was all bandaged up. My body, which was once filled with fat, had undergone a drastic change. I had become moderate and slender, like I was a new soul entirely. "You shouldn't try to get up—well, not yet." A masculine voice echoed in the room. The scent of sandalwood with a touch of tobacco wafted through my nose. I could swear the incense had gone out at that moment. My whole body tingled as he approached, the danger signals increasing with each step. Suddenly, I felt something choking me. It was his sinister aura, so bland and cruel, like that of a wolf who had murdered countless warriors. I felt suppressed by his aura, my heart thumping with fear. After a few more steps I coul

-ANNA-In the early ages, Alphas didn't have the right to dismiss their Lunas. The moon goddess had made it a rule, for she never made mistakes. At some point some sides didn't believe in the moon goddess's rule and decided to be promiscuous, adding another wolf to their mating circle. They were to be punished really badly, but after numerous pleas, the rules were adjusted. A divorce or rejection could enable you to cut off your mate, but there was a disadvantage beneath it. If one of the partners is forced off and he or she seeks revenge, a rite of passage known as the kiss of vengeance must be held. The kiss of vengeance acts as a guilt trigger. Every layer of memory that could have been hidden or forgotten comes back to haunt you, and you find yourself regretting ever leaving. These memories haunt him till he kills himself or leaves the throne. But a strong Alpha would need one on the lips or ten on the hand to bring him down. With Jake giving me one, I knew he would be able to r

Alpha Jake's POV "It's a great idea!" Nicholas' voice echoed in my brainNow that Nicholas agreed that it was the right thing to do, without wasting much time, I headed to Tuba's. Tuba was my Seer, the one I always consulted about all my plans. Also, he always warned me ahead about unexpected events. But I had lost trust in him, the moment Linda lost that pregnancy. He had already warned against it that if I didn't kill Anna, it would happen. But after I had killed Anna, he kept arguing that I hadn't.Anna, I would never regret doing that. If she had not been born premature, her parents wouldn't think that I would befit her. I just took the opportunity and used it judiciously. A chance to take all her power and inheritance Anna really loved me, deeper than I wished any woman could love me but I couldn't accept her. She was just an ugly premature from an Alpha bloodline. That didn't make her special, it just made her worse than an Omega. As her parents had already given up on her,

Alpha Jake's POV I still couldn't believe it. Just a throw over the shoulder, I felt like all the bones in my body had broken. There was a good side to every bad experience. 'How would I find a good trainer if this hadn't happened?' I had begged Nicholas to train me in their sophisticated art of war. For an Alpha, most would think that I was belittling myself, but to be great, you must be humble. Being humble to a superior like Nicholas shouldn't be shameful. As I turned to look at the door from the hospice bed I was lying on, I saw Linda coming in with a disdainful look on her face. Without saying anything, her face was already scolding me loudly. "I'm feeling better already. Thanks for asking," I joked as I didn't want to add to the physical pain I was going through already. "Do you see where you end up? The hospice. You were not in a war but your own range. Do you now understand?" Linda's face was sour and fierce at the moment. "It was just an accident. I will be back on m
