I looked at the faces of my parents, before responding, "fine, I accept, I'll get married to you,".

Dad immediately rebuked, " no! You can't do that,".

"Dear, Please reconsider,". Mom said as well.

Corey however didn't care what they said. He finally takes away the gun and before leaving he turns to my family and said.

"You're lucky tonight, but don't forget, I'll be back for you, my dear,".

Corey winked at me before disappearing from our eyes...

Immediately the door shuts, and dad ran off to the door, he locked it, confronting me. "You shouldn't have accepted Muna," dad complained.

Like what the heck does he want?. I had no choice, it was either I see my parents die before my eyes or accept to marry a monster like Corey.

"Dear! Please no need to dwell on this, we should at least find a way to save our child from getting married to a man like Corey,". Says mom. She turns around and faced me. ", Muna, I need you to promise me, and no matter what, you'll never end up getting married to Corey,". Mom said, emotionally looking at me.

Dad too Stares at me.

I faced dad and said, " tell me something, how much did you lend from Corey?".

I looked at mom in the process.

He began coughing. Mom asked me to go into the kitchen to get him a glass of water, immediately I ran off and came back in with a glass of water on a tray.

I placed it in front of dad, the table facing him.

"Here you go dad, drink please,". I said.

"Thank you, dear, I will,". Dad said. He take out his hand to collect the glass, he did and slowly bring his mouth, closer to the lid of the cup.

He takes his time to finish the glass of water.

Deep down I felt he was trying to hide away from answering my calls.

"Muna, can you please go to your bedroom and let me talk with your dad,". Mom interrupts any chance of me knowing the truth.

I grinned, I went past them heading to my room.

Before leaving, I turned back to look at them. Mom wanted to say something, but when she noticed I was still looking, she immediately stops. "Muna, please go to your room, I beg you,". She yelled at me.

I shook my head and faced away. I went upstairs and walked into my bedroom...

I am curious, what are my parents hiding from me.. . Apart from the fact that my parents went ahead to borrow money from a loan shark mobster, Corey.

Why can't they talk to me about what happened.?. Why did dad borrow money from him and with the manner Corey acted, it seems like a huge sum of money .
