KYLE

Staring into the clouds, I realized that this was the worst day of my life and I couldn't do anything to avert it. Getting entangled with a man who I saw kissing another lady in the closet. He wasn't a loyal man, and definitely his arrogance and pride got on my last nerves.

“What are you doing here?” My mother sighed, wearing a smile on his face.

“I'm resting” I uttered wearing a smile on my face, I was wondering what made her act this way, she wasn't even smiling. I guess she was angry over the fact that I wasn't ready, only if she knew how much I never wanted this day to come.

“Have you lost your senses? This isn't what you're supposed to be doing at this point, you're getting married today, and you're not ready” She reminded me of the sole purpose of the day, getting married to a very arrogant man.

“I don't want to get married to a man that I don't love” I sighed, hoping that she could just cancel this union and just give consent to my words or my feelings.

“You've gone insane to say such words, don't make me lose it. I would hurt you so badly that your husband wouldn't be able to recognize you” She threatened, knowing that she was going all head's on because of the massive sum of money that was given to her by Eaton's father, remembering how tears fell off my eyes on the night I watched myself being sold off as a peace treaty and a beneficiary item to my family.

“Mother you don't have to show all this attitude because of the money his father gave to you” I stuttered as I stared at the surprised look on his face, she couldn't deny the fact that I knew what happened.

“How would you say such? His father never gave me anything…"

“Now I would say the words, how you dare say such words to me?” I chimed into her words, I was pissed that she was lying to me, staring into my eyes and lying without feeling remorseful, this was ready heartbreaking.

"It seems you don't understand my words?" I could see the mixed feelings in her eyes. She had no choice as well, having the money would be a great boost to her business and peace was the ultimate price to avoid a war that would cost the lives of many people. I wouldn't be the reason a young pup becomes an orphan, I would never forgive myself.

“You slapped me because of a million dollar deal signed by your hands, you think I wouldn't know about it. I know all your dealings and I know what you did. This is an arranged marriage, and it's because of the money” I growled as she stared back at the maids that she brought in to have me dressed for my husband.

“Leave us” She screamed as the head of the maids stuttered,

“What do you mean?”

“Leave!!" She screamed, listening to the door slamming, I knew she was pissed.

"I don't want this, but I want you to know that this is the only way you'll help your family and the pack members at large” She stutters as she placed her hands on my shoulders.

“Jeopardizing my happiness that's what you call saving” staring at the tears in her eyes, I pushed her hands off my shoulders.

“How ridiculous” I uttered as she placed her fingers on my lips.

“You don't have to put it that way, just see this as a sacrifice, knowing that you would never be forgotten for this single act. If you disagree with this, the lives of these pups that look up to you, you're a role model and let the world remember that you were married as a peace treaty. You're to seal the deal and put an end to the endless war” She utters as she felt like going down on her knees to beg me.

“I don't know, I have a bad feeling about all this” I sighed,

“You don't have to feel bad or weird about anything, it's just a marriage. When you're tired of living with him, you can file for a divorce. At that time, we've grown to an extent that we can stand toe to toe with The Black moon pack” her words really got to me and I couldn't see myself feeling the restraining urge.

“Well mother, I don't know” I chuckled,

“Fine, I would walk out this door and go hang myself, knowing that my daughter failed her family and the whole pack. You'll be cursed, and I wouldn't stand that stigma, so I'm off to my death. Thank you, Kyle” She utters as she was about to stand up to her feet.

“Mother, you don't have to do that. Please don't even think of killing yourself. I'll get married to him, once the Moon goddess blesses me with a mate. I'm leaving Eaton for good” I explained my plans to her.

“You have my full support” she conceded to my words, wearing a stern smile on her face.

“I know you're lying, but you can call your folks. I want to get this over with” I uttered as she called the maids, they walked in a bit scared, I know what they feared my mother.

“Mother I don't think they can perform their job in your presence, they're scared of you” I uttered, staring at six ladies shaking literally because of my mother.

“Are you asking me out of your room?” She retorted,

“Nope, but if you want this wedding to be held, please wait outside” I chortled.

“Fine” she shrugs as the maids created a path for her to walk through. The door was locked as soon as she walked out of the door.

“This is your chance to leave this land and don't ever come back. This is the chance, take it, Kyle”

“I'll be back” I conceded to the words in my mind.

“Where you going?”
