AVA

“She is only allowed to leave this house unless it's with me, is that understood?” Simon said to the new house keeper, Margot.

Margot is the sixth one to be hired in just a month. As Ava got better, her craziness increased.

The last house keeper, Amber, ran out the door crying and screaming after Ava had lurched a plate of pasta her way. Luckily, the plate had missed Amber by an inch and instead landed on the wall behind her.

The red pasta sauce lined Simon's off-white wall as the strings of pasta fell to the ground.

The house keeper ran away in fear while Ava sat on the ground staring into space next to the evidence of her crime.

After a long night of surgery, Simon walked into the house flaming in anger. Amber, the house keeper had called upset, threatening to file a lawsuit against Ava. Simon had had to pacify her with a huge check.

That day, Simon had walked into the house in red hot anger, ready to yell at Ava for how she had gone off on the house keeper.

He was ready to unleash his anger on her, to remind her that she was no longer the bratty billionaire princess who could get away with everything.

He was going to remind her of her place, remind her that he owned her and she better start getting used to being his because she was never going back to the life she had once had.

He was going to say all these things, maybe even shake some sense into her but when he walked in, when he saw her sitting there looking broken, his anger melted.

He took her into his arm and for the first time in two months, for the first them since he made her his, she did not protest.

She just stayed there in his arms like a broken doll in need of mending. He held her close, all he had ever wanted from the beginning was to hold her close, all he had wanted from the beginning was to be everything to her.

He felt like they were finally getting closer, he felt like they were finally going to be like the picture of a family he had thought up in his mind but like every other time that ended in an uproar, she asked the one question he wished she wouldn't.

“Why did you do it?” Ava asked with tears in her eyes.

“Why did you kidnap me? Why did you take me away from everyone I love?” She asked looking up at him with glassy eyes.

When he said nothing for an extended period of time, as he prepared himself to give usual spiel, to tell her that the memories in her head were not true, that she is…has always been his wife, that the car accident had messed with her head, the gentleness that she had possess melted into crazy and once again Ava was the crazy entitled princess who had thrown the plate of pasta on the maid.

All the calm evaporated from her gaze, all that was left was a fiery anger, an unmistakable loathing. All this dark emotions were directed at Simon.

“How dare you?!” Ava yelled as the memories of the life she had once had lingered in her mind, as the thought that she would never see her father ever again haunted her, as the fact that her life had been destroyed by the person next to her enraged her.

She wanted to claw his eyes out! To make him feel everything that she felt, the pain and helpless loneliness that she could not get away from.

“Take me back home!” Ava yelled as she lurched blows at Simon's chest. He took the punches until he could no more and then he held her hands in his stron grip.

“Listen to me Ava!” He yelled as he held her hands, she glared at him.

“Take me home! I do not know you! What is it you want? Money? Just call my father, demand a ransom, whatever you ask for he would give you, just let me go, please,” Ava begged and yelled and threw a fit like she has been doing for the past two months.

No matter how hard she thought about it, no matter how hard she thought about it, nothing made sense.

It was still the heated argument she had had with her father about marrying Calvin, her leaving the house in anger, her yelling at her driver to cross into the freeway even though the traffic light had said otherwise.

Nothing made sense. There was loud yelling after Robert, her driver had driven into the freeway, there was this sharp cutting pain in her head area and then blackness and when she woke up there was Simon.

“Take me home please,” Ava was now full-on begging him, wishing that she could turn back the hands of time. She wished that she had not been a brat by demanding that Robert crosses into the free way even though it was not safe.

“Please, I want to see my father. I want to go home,” Ava sniffled.

“You are home Ava. I am your home,” Simon had said. “These memories you have, they are not real, they are just side effects of the accident. I am your only home,” he added while still gripping onto her hand but not as strongly as he had been, this was a mistake because his answer caused an uproar within and the next thing,Ava was throwing a fit again.

“You are lying! You bloody liar!” Ava yelled as she lurched whatever her hands could touch in his direction.

Like every other time, Simon had to rely on the dose of sedative pumped through a syring into her vein to calm her down.

He held her down and pumped that unnecessary drug into Ava.

Her eyes got heavy, her thoughts were scrambled all over the place. The sadness settled in greatly as she fell into the same dreamless sleep that she always falls into whenever he decides that she was too much and sedated her.

It happened almost the same way every single time but this time Simon was slowly starting to lose hope of making Ava him but like the proud psychopath he was, he deviced a new plan.

He had been playing things a bit too safe.

It was time to increase the flame.
