Bella closed the door to her room softly, her heart still racing from the tension downstairs. She leaned against it, exhaling deeply. The cold, unreadable look in Dominic's eyes when he caught her sneaking out lingered in her mind. She couldn’t tell if he believed her excuse or if he simply chose not to press her further.

Crossing the room, she picked up her phone from the bedside table. Her father’s earlier message flashed on the screen: “come eat with us if you can, we'll wait for you, I Hope you are managing?.” Bella frowned, her fingers hesitating over the keyboard. She knew what he was trying to say, but sneaking out for something so simple had caused more trouble than she expected.

She typed quickly, her thumbs flying over the screen. “I can’t come out to eat with you again. It’s too risky, also I'm fine .” she felt sad because she really missed her family even though it hasn't even been up to a week since she came here.

The message was short, but the weight of it pressed on her

Dominic’s office was quiet, the sound of his pen scratching against paper the only thing breaking the silence. He had a stack of reports to review, yet his mind drifted back to Bella. There was something about her presence that lingered in his thoughts, an enigma he couldn’t unravel. He sighed, setting the pen down, and leaned back in his chair. Out of habit, he glanced at the security feed from the cameras installed in his mansion. His jaw tightened as the screen flickered to show Bella standing by the doorway with a man he didn’t recognize.Dominic straightened in his chair, his dark eyes narrowing. The man young, confidentwalked toward Bella with ease. Her face lit up in a smile, and then she hugged him.Something in Dominic snapped. He didn’t think twice. He grabbed his keys and stormed out of the office, his anger fueling every step as he drove back home.---When Dominic arrived, he didn’t bother to park neatly or announce his presence. He slammed the front door open, his footst

The soft light of dawn seeped through the heavy curtains in Dominic’s room. He groaned, pressing a hand to his temple as a dull ache throbbed in his head. His memories of the previous night were fragmented, like shards of glass scattered in his mind. He remembered drinking too much, seeing Bella dancing, and... kissing her.Dominic sat up abruptly, his heart racing. His lips pressed into a thin line as he tried to piece it all together. “What the hell was I thinking?” he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his disheveled hair.Determined to regain his composure, he dressed and headed to the dining room. The faint sound of upbeat music reached his ears as he approached, and his brow furrowed in confusion. As he stepped into the dining room, the sight before him left him speechless. Bella, clad in a simple sundress, was spinning around with a mop in hand, her earbuds in place. She moved with carefree abandon, completely immersed in her own world.Dominic leaned against the

Bella tiptoed into the dining room, her hands nervously clutching the hem of her sweater. Dominic sat at the head of the table, his expression unreadable as he sipped his coffee. The tension in the room was thick, and Bella struggled to keep her composure. She glanced at him briefly but quickly averted her gaze when their eyes met.“Good morning,” she muttered softly, barely audible.Dominic didn’t respond. Instead, he set his cup down with a sharp clink, making Bella flinch. His intense gaze followed her every movement as she moved toward her seat. The silence stretched uncomfortably until Dominic finally spoke, his deep voice cutting through the air like a blade.“Where were you last night?” he demanded.Bella froze, unsure how to respond. “I… I was just throwing out the trash,” she stammered, her voice shaking.Dominic’s jaw tightened. “And you thought it was a good idea to wander off in the middle of the night without telling anyone?”“I didn’t wander off,” Bella said defensively.

Bella sat on her bed, her heart racing as the events of the evening replayed in her mind. The terrifying look in Dominic’s eyes when he faced the intruder, the brutal way he handled the situation, and finally, his cryptic accusations about her father. None of it made sense. Her father wasn’t involved in anything shady—at least, she was sure he wasn’t.But Dominic’s words echoed in her mind. “Your father’s actions have put a target on your back.”Pushing her growing fear aside, Bella stood abruptly. She couldn’t let this go unanswered. She needed to know what Dominic meant. Steeling herself, she hurried downstairs, searching for him.She found him in his study, seated at the large mahogany desk with a drink in his hand. His sharp features were partially obscured by shadows, but his piercing gaze immediately locked onto her as she entered.“Dominic,” Bella began, her voice firmer than she expected, “what did you mean about my father’s actions? What’s going on?”Dominic set his glass dow

The tension in the room lingered long after Dominic left Bella standing in the kitchen. Her hands were still trembling slightly as she scrubbed the dishes, trying to distract herself from the piercing intensity of their earlier conversation. Dominic had a way of getting under her skin, and even when he left the room, his presence seemed to linger, unsettling her in ways she didn’t understand. With a heavy sigh, Bella finished rinsing the last plate and stacked it neatly on the drying rack. She reached for her phone, deciding she needed a little music to calm her nerves. She plugged in her earphones and selected her favorite playlist, setting it to shuffle. A fast-paced pop song began to play, and she couldn’t help but sway her hips to the rhythm as she wiped down the counters.Soon, her movements turned more energetic. The music pulled her in, and she danced around the kitchen, her earlier worries momentarily forgotten. She spun on her heels, singing into an imaginary microphone made

Angelo approached Bella, who was still standing in the same spot, her hand trembling slightly from the encounter.“Are you okay?” he asked, his tone uncharacteristically gentle.Bella nodded, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I’m fine,” she said, though her voice wavered slightly. He hesitated for a moment, his sharp eyes studying her. “You handled that well,” he said finally.Bella managed a small smile. “Thanks, I guess.”Angelo nodded, his usual stoicism returning as he stepped back. “Let’s finish up here. Dominic won’t want you out for too long.”Bella didn’t argue. She collected her purchases and allowed Angelo to escort her back to the car. As they drove back to the mansion, she couldn’t help but replay the incident in her mind. For the first time in a long time, she’d stood up for herself, and it felt strangely empowering. What she didn’t realize was how much of an impression it had left on Angelo and how Dominic would react when he heard about it.The ride back to the
