Chapter Twenty
“I will always find you no matter where you are! There’s no escape, Alizandra.” I turned her to face me and the terror stamped on her beautiful face made me weep inside. She looked at me just like the devil I was, and that didn’t sit well with my heart, but I got so angry at that moment and so confused. Anger, pain, grief, fear, and God knew what else assaulted me at that moment. I didn’t think of anything else, but to teach her a lesson for being disobedient, for abandoning me. So I showed her the monster I was. I didn’t hide from her. I knew my eyes were glowing, and I exposed my fangs.“What are you?” she said in a whisper, then her eyes changed, and what I saw in those lavenders took me by surprise. There was compassion for a troubled soul like mine, even though she feared me. But those lavenders didn’t lie. She always had the power to see my darkened soul. The world around me ceased to exist when her fingertips roamed over my face like she was seeing the real me, like a veil had

Then he was on top of me, pinning me to the floor, and all the defiance in my face gave place to surprise.“Yes, you know her, because she is you, dragă. She is hidden inside your mind and heart.” “I’m not scared of you!” I whispered.“Are you sure, Alexandra?” His eyes changed again and his canines lengthened. He just couldn’t help himself. Something told me he needed me to fear him, even though he didn’t want it, neither made him happy about it. “What are you?” My muscles stiffened, and a squeak came out of my lips.“I’m cursed!” He sounded so much like a wounded animal giving me his answer, that if he meant to scare the soul out of my body, he failed. Yes, I got afraid of him, sort of... But deep down I knew he would never hurt me and that ace I had up in my sleeve.“Get off me!” I said with gritted teeth, and he didn’t move, setting my blood to boil. “I won’t say it again, get the hell off me!” Fire flashed in those golden eyes and it made me believe he wasn’t used to someone def

Chapter Twenty-Two
“I’ve never seen myself as one! Only a cursed devil.” The tone in which he spoke held the heaviness of a confession. I broke the contact, resting my forehead on his, trying to catch some air, feeling his warm breath lingering close to my lips. I didn’t prepare myself to see the burden of sorrow in those eyes framed by those sinful long lashes. “Don’t say it like this…”“Why?” My heart stuttered in pain and reached out for him. I didn’t know what to say, so I did what I thought was best at that moment. I covered his mouth with mine in a wild and desperate kiss. “Liz, I won’t be able to behave myself if you keep kissing me this way…”“Then don’t, I don’t want you to behave, anyway...” And all the heat of those golden eyes descended on me, all the adoration in them, and I didn’t even know why I deserved it. He captured my mouth in a possessive way, claiming his stake in me. From that moment on I knew I belonged to him, only to him, and my life would never be the same. His rough hand c

Chapter Twenty-Three
If I was dreaming, I didn’t want to wake up! She had cocooned herself underneath my body on my side; the fire was almost gone as the temperature in the cabin dropped a bit, and we drowned in a mess of blankets. I have been awake for some time now, but working up my courage to let go of the warmth of her soft body against mine. My fingers moved on their own accord, caressing her face and putting away the wild strands of her hair. She was an enchantress, my enchantress. Her eyes drifted open. How I’ve missed waking up to those lavenders!“Hey…” “Hey, Grizzly.” She giggled and my heart fluttered in my chest. “I’m glad this wasn’t only one more of my dreams with you…” “How come you’re so accepting of me? Are you not afraid of what I am?” I just didn’t understand, I was ready for a fight and…“I don’t know, throughout my life, I’ve differed from the others. There are things we can’t explain, I move, break and explode things with the power of my mind, for heaven’s sake.” There was sadness

Thank Lord, I found my way back to the spot I’d left my bike. My chest constricted with worry, and if something happened to her, I would be very, very upset.“What’s wrong, Liz? Why are you anxious, and your heart races?” I heard his strong voice right behind me.“How do you know?”“Let’s say I have an acute hearing. Answer me.” I sighed, glaring at him. Gosh, why did he always need to command everything? He sounded just like Dad. “I just hope nothing happened to my sweet babe, that’s all!” There she was in all its glory, perfect! The way I left her about four days ago. I went straight to my saddlebags and retrieved a flashlight, illuminating his face. He blinked several times, and I chuckled.“Stop that!” In the next minute, he was holding the flashlight, examining it. “What are all these?”“Well, that’s a flashlight, and this is my sweetness, my bike!” The look on his face was something. Man, he was rediscovering the world around him! “When was the last time you were awake, Grizzly?

Chapter Twenty-Five
I went straight to my laptop and hacked into the blood center a few miles away from my house. Once into their systems I checked for their supplies, making sure I got the ones they have in more quantities, leaving the rare types, I didn’t think my grizzly was the frisky kind. I reserved a bunch of them, and once I was done, I went to my safe box and retrieved one of my fake IDs. But it wasn’t all. I had a little disguise to do. In one of my bathroom drawers, I found my green contact lenses, and in the closet my blond short-haired wig. “Hello, miss Bailey!” I said to myself in the mirror. It’s been six months since I played her nurse Bailey. I had been undercover as a nurse inside a pharmaceutical lab, and believe me, I almost blew my cover. I had the habit to save some fake IDs I worked under, sometimes they were useful again, like now. Before I left I checked on him, he felt so cold on my palm even though the house had already gotten cozy with heat. I had to speed up.I jumped on my

Chapter Twenty-Six
Everything was silent, and I didn’t feel her presence anywhere. My demon raised its head, wanting me to unleash him. Once more she sneaked on me. I was already halfway off the bed, fuming and cursing, when my eyes caught some enormous piece of paper on the nightstand.“Grizzly, I’m not gone, calm down! I’m sure you must be freaking out at this very moment. I had business to attend, I’ll be back by lunchtime, bringing you some surprises. Feel yourself at home, and in the living room, there are shelves full of books. Please, don’t blow my house down while I’m gone. Liz.” Liz… Like old times. My heart calmed a bit, and I glanced around the room, everything was perfect and organized, all soothing tones of white, light pink, and gray. The bed was immense for only one person, and I’m not complaining, as I can think of lots of naughty things to do on it. There were also some plants and fluffy stuff all around. When could I imagine living to see all these changes? Shaking my head, I opened a

I didn’t mean to charge against him, and I froze, my eyes fixed on his body on the floor. My breathing got heavy and tears made their way through my lashes. His fingers came out all bloody when he touched the back of his head.It didn’t take him a minute to be standing and looking at me with a murderous gaze, his golden eyes scintillating and fangs at full length, and this time he frightened me. “Alexandra…”“Don’t come anywhere closer, I don’t want to hurt you!” He moved towards me. “Please, I didn’t mean it. Calm down, and let me take care of your head.” he wasn’t listening to me at all, at that moment he was a predator, and I was his prey. Plain truth. “What have you done?” his voice boomed in my ears. The blood flushed out of my face, and I rubbed my clammy palms on my pants, but I couldn’t control the shaking taking over me, and the surrounding air thickened. I felt my body charging again, and I knew I would blast him a second time, so I did the only thing I thought possible at

Chapter Twenty-Eight
She melted in my arms, giving herself into my care, and that made me a lucky bastard. I kissed her nonsense. She had too many clothes on her, since I hadn’t given her time to make herself comfortable at home, jumping on her like a wild animal. I got rid of her jacket and blouse, kissing that long, sinful neck of hers, delivering slow naughty licks on the wound I caused, and along her shoulder line, making her moan in my ears. She had such delicate satin skin against my rough palms; it had more color than her first version, tanned delicious and tasty. I needed to have time to explore those drawings all over her body since she was so fond of them. My hands roamed over her soft breasts, still hidden behind a piece of scrap, and down to her belly. A low growl escaped my lips and I couldn’t get a hold of myself. Her hands tugged on my hair, pulling me closer, driving me crazy. “I love the golden in your eyes!” she whispered to me. Right there, I knew my demon was taking over myself, and

“It’s amazing how things have changed! No more stoves?” I inspected her kitchen, looking for one. “Yes, there is, all kinds. This is electric, not that I use it much.” She turned a knob and a few minutes later, she grabbed my hand holding above the thing, and I could feel the heat emanating from it, becoming incandescent. “And that is a microwave, you can heat everything in there.”“So electricity, huh? As I see, they have improved their findings back then, quite impressive.”“Almost everything runs on it, today, thanks to some enlightened people,” she said with a grin. Then with a ping sound she turned from me. “Done!” Dipping my finger in the water, it had warmed, and she dumped the bag of blood inside. “Let it sit for a few minutes.” After a while, she poured the content in a glass, putting it in front of me. “Go on, I know you need it. How did you eat food in the cabin?” I grabbed the glass and gulped the whole thing down without taking my eyes from her. My findings didn’t make m
