Chapter 61
I never grabbed something out of someone’s hand so fast in my life. My head turned red with shame, even if we had done it before, this was not necessary. God, he is such an asshole. He was laughing, a sound quite unfamiliar to my ears. I rolled my eyes at him and hid the vibrator in between the couch cushions, hoping that my pregnancy brain wouldn’t forge

Chapter 62
I'll admit that by the time it was Friday, I had started to wonder if this was really a smart idea. I wondered about it while I shaved my legs, while I picked out one of my sexier bras and while I put the vibrator into my purse. Clara was already with her friend, a girl from her new class who was brave enough to befriend my sister, and all seemed to be going well. That was why I was so nervous. All of this was going just swimmingly, and I was really not used to that. The driver did not speak to me when I entered his car, though he clearly preferred my new house over my old one. We didn’t have to speed off to get away from the many prostitutes and drug dealers approaching the fancy car. At most, there were a few students who looked at the Mercedes with a faint interest.

Chapter 63
His large hand was around my throat before I even realized it. He never squeezed it, he just pulled me to him. His lips were on mine again, but they weren’t looking for sweet kisses now. Everything was a fight for dominance, and though I knew that my chances of winning were very slim, I couldn’t help but enjoy knowing that it was driving him insane. I wasn’t submitting to him.His hand left my throat and instead roughly spun me around. I grabbed the back of the couch before I would fall, though I doubt he would have let that happen. His hands spent little time exploring my body, but instead unzipped the back of my dress and pulled it over my head. The bra I had specially chosen for tonight was on the floor in seconds. And I was standing there in just my panties, while he was fully dressed. I wanted to flip back around, but his arms kept

His bed was a far better place to rest up after the sex than the couch would have been to be fair. For a little while, neither of us said a word. He did help me in getting comfortable, before I knew it we were cuddled up in bed together. My naked body pressed against his fully clothed one. His fingers brushed through my hair while his other arm was wrapped around my body. My head was on his chest, while I tried to remember how to string together a sentence. I could feel the tips of his fingers pressed against my scalp with every new brush, it was incredibly soothing. “Told you that you would submit in the end.” He finally broke the silence. I didn’t have to lift my head to know that he was smiling as he said it. “I never screamed your name though.” I countered.

Pregnancy sure influenced my dreams a lot. It felt like I was genuinely there in my dream, with vivid colours and even the faintest sounds. They had also gotten weirder, sometimes in a fun way, sometimes not so much. I dreamed that I was in a field of large mushrooms. They were towering over me, blocking out the sun and bathing me in darkness. I followed Clara’s voice, but anytime I caught a glimpse of her she disappeared again. I couldn’t run after her, not with the baby still in my arms. A night of running around in my dreams hadn’t exactly made me feel well rested. When I opened my eyes it was still dark out, though I felt a stirring beside me.“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up.” Robert said. He was laying behind me, but had his arm wrapped around my wa

Chapter 66
“Oh no,” I said. “Oh, no, oh fuck no.” The baby’s vomit was everywhere, the way only babies could projectile vomit. It brought back memories of long nights with Clara back when she was a baby still, though the smell wouldn’t let my mind stray too far off my current situation. Kiara had told me where all the cleaning supplies were, but with a screaming baby and increasingly more back aches it was kind of difficult to deal with the situation. I took a calming breath, nearly joined in on the vomiting, and took the baby’s vomit soaked romper off. It took some time, but eventually we got over the whole puking incident. When Kiara had mentioned that she was struggling to find a proper babysitter, she hadn’t even considered asking me. I understood that of co

I was already regretting my decision to walk today. It seemed like nice weather and I finally had some energy again, but I forgot what it was like to walk with Clara.  She was squatting over a snail on the sidewalk, looking at it with big eyes. She never really wanted to touch them, though that wasn’t because she was scared. She knew that the snail should be left alone, she just hadn’t figured out that a giant human watching it didn’t really match up with that definition. When she was content with the snail, she grabbed my hand again and pulled me further. That was until we saw a small line of ants and had to stop again.  I didn’t argue with Kiara when she had made that comment, because it was true to some degree. I knew the stress of waiting for money to come in, but my situation was different from the

Mr Price could be a really hot guy, if he wasn’t such a dick. Luckily for me, dicks generally weren’t that smart. Under the cover of turning my phone on silent, I had pressed record on a voice memo. One that would be sent directly to Robert, even if he suddenly turned my phone off. I placed it screen down on the table and leaned back in the chair. “As you are probably aware, your boyfriend Robert King is under suspicion of engaging in numerous criminal acts.” Mr Price started. “We have sources indicating that you may be involved in these acts.”“Those were a lot of very vague words.” I countered. “Sources could mean you spoke to his mother, his best friend or just read it on Wikipedia. Acts can range from drinking a glass of water to committing murder

Chapter 69
I always knew Robert was paying his lawyers a whole lot of money, and they certainly made up for that. Within fifteen minutes of my phone call to Robert, three lawyers showed up at my door, putting a stop to the FBI’s plan.  Mr Price was smart. He knew that anything I told him in those fifteen minutes couldn’t be used in a court of law, so he happily kept his mouth shut. We held a silent staring contest, during which I could tell that he was rethinking his entire strategy and approach to me. He assumed that I was a dumb girl who got herself knocked up by the first rich guy she could find. He didn’t take me to be like this, to be capable of having thoughts of my own. The three lawyers were all in their mid-thirties. The one who took the lead was a woman, no older than thirty with beautiful black hair and dark brown skin. She wore a black pencil skirt with

We arrived at Robert’s office not much later. I had kind of assumed we would be going to meet him, and as it was in the middle of a weekday, there was really only one place he could be. The man was a workaholic after all.I spent the entire time chatting with Mahlia, who was much friendlier than I had ever thought a lawyer could be. She told me about the dorky guy she had been seeing, and we had a good laugh about men always thinking heart necklaces are cute. “Ms Teagan.” We were greeted by Robert’s assistant, though not the one I had been able to bond with yet. This was the scary blonde, the one who had been there for the interviews. She smiled at me for sure, a supermodel smile even, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Mr King wants to speak to you. Ms Adler, if you and your sister could wait here for a moment, we wi
