Chapter 21.
"Breakfast is served!!" Charlie said as the waiter brought their plates to their table. Holly smiled mildly. She was too tired to even make a comment. Charlie had picked out the place this time. And so she was going to be eating pesto asparagus with a side of cauliflower salad. It looked yummy and Holly was hungry so she didn't care that it was vegan as she dug in her plate. It was good. She thought as she took another bite of the creamy asparagus that was in sauteed ribbons served with a rich pesto sauce. "This is much better than I thought it would be."  "See!!! I told you. Vegan food can be really delicious. Beside I love this place, they have so many recipes and new ways to try out vegan food it's so satisfying." Holly nodded in

Chapter 22.
Holly woke up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafting through her nostrils, how long had she been asleep? she thought as she felt the empty bed next to her. Obviously for a very long time, she thought as the bed felt cold to the touch. Where the hell was Ryder? She asked herself. She really hoped that he wasn't making a mess in her kitchen. She stretched for a while and walked to her bathroom, eager to brush her teeth and change into new clothes. Standing in front of her mirror she noticed she look ravaged, there were love bites all over her neck and her lips looked plump and red. Her hair was a bird's nest and it looked far from cute or sexy. She used a hand to examine her lingerie that was a bit torn at the side and it brought back delicious memories from last night's rendezvous.

Chapter 23.
Holly walked into the bakery with a pair of dark sunglasses on. She was tired and sleep deprived but she had managed to shoo Ryder away from her apartment and make it to the bakery in time to see Kim. She was still making her way to her office when she bumped into a little girl. She removed her sunglasses and found out that it was a pretty little girl on the floor with strawberry blonde curls. Her eyes were so big and blue that it was a beauty to behold. She was dressed in a little green romper. "I'm so sorry. What's your name little one?"  She asked the girl as she bent down to her height. "My name is Viola. I'm sorry for bumping into you."

Chapter 24.
The phone rang for the tenth time, but Holly ignored it. She was packing her bags for her trip to New Jersey.  So far, she planned that she would stay for three days no more no less. That was the longest time she could stand her family.  The phone rang again. Holly still ignored it, not even bothering to check the caller ID. It was Ryder, she knew it. He had been calling her non stop for  the past few days and Holly had refused to answer. Because she was confused. She didn't know what to do or what to say. Kim's words had not only hurt her, it also made her deeply reflect on her life and the choices she had chosen to make. It made her see that unconsciously, choosing to sleep with Ryder had caused Kim a lot of pain and hurt. And Holly didn't want to be the kind of girl that neglected her friend

Chapter 25.
Holly pushed Ryder far away, away from the prying eyes of her family and she slammed the door shut. "What are you doing here?" She whispered as she glared at him. Ryder shrugged. He seemed to be holding a bouquet of flowers and a backpack. "I called you so many times. Then I went to your apartment and your neighbour was kind enough to give me your home number. Your mum answered and she told me you were here. I wanted it to be a surprise." Holly folded her arms and narrowed her eyes at him.  Surprise?? More like a shock. She was shocked. "Well, I am not surprised. You have to go now."

Chapter 26.
Holly loves thanksgiving. It was her favourite holiday after Christmas. As she and Ryder joined the dinner table with her family hours later, she couldn't help but salivate over the delicious meal she and her mum had cooked while Ryder hung out with her sister Ella's husband.  The star of the dinner table was ranch seasoned roast turkey, with green bean casserole, creamy mashed potatoes on the side, with homemade cranberry sauce and cornbread stuffing. For dessert was the classic easy pumpkin pie Holly had made herself with her grandmother's recipe. Dinner had been far from awkward. Crystal was the first person to notice Holly's Tiffany bracelet and she made a huge fuss over it. Then during dinner she had chastised Holly for eating too much. Holl

Chapter 27.
"Do you really think you're making the right decision?"  Jake asked as he furrowed his eyebrows. He was seated casually on Ryder's sofa nursing a drink. It was still mid afternoon but Jake still indulged himself in a glass of whiskey. Ryder's focus was elsewhere, on the files and the information that he just lost one of his biggest clients. It didn't happen often, in fact, Alpha properties had not lost a client in years. That was how good they were.  "Hey! Why did we lose Hoffman?"  Jake shrugged. "I don't know." Ryder paused for a while deep in thoughts.

They sat, engrossed, barely noticing the plates of food that barely made it to their slack mouths. Holly and Ryder were so engrossed in themselves that they didn't have time for anyone and anything else. Holly was ecstatic but also very nervous. She and Ryder had only just started their dinner date and everything was going so well. She had tried so hard but she still couldn't bring herself to tell Ryder the truth. Her hands were shaking and she was jittery.Even if she wanted to, what was she going to say? She thought as she twisted her fingers in her clothes. How was she going to start? She asked herself as she watched Ryder who was totally oblivious to her anxiety. If he noticed that she was anxious, he didn't say anything. Maybe he thought it was first date jitters. He was also looking exceptionally handsome too.He was wearing a nice suit and he looked like he had taken extra time and ef

Chapter 30.
The Hamilton residence was as big as Holly expected it to be. She already knew it when the address was in the Hamptons and she stopped in front of a beautiful gated mansion. She was not only delivering the cake but Mrs Hamilton also extended a private invitation to her.  Holly only accepted out of courtesy, she had little to zero interest in kid parties and would rather spend twenty minutes there. Besides, it was a weekend so she decided that curling up on her bed with Netflix would do her some good. Holly was hesitant about it but she supposed that it was a good way to take her mind off a lot of things. The past few days she had buried herself in work. Although she found out that she was consta
