Nobunaga and the Oda forces arrived in Echizen a few days later. As expected, the Asakura Clan were already prepared for their arrival. AS Nobunaga ordered, the siege was led by none other than Hideyoshi. To prove himself to his lord, Hideyoshi put forth a battle strategy that ended up favorable for the Oda Forces.

It’s been a few days since Nobunaga and the Oda forces left for Echizen. The whole castle was quiet considering there were only a few of us here. Despite their long-time hostility throughout history, both Nobunaga and Ieyasu were able to fight together without getting into an internal conflict. Not many people know of what happened between Ieyasu and Nobunaga and how their alliance came to be, however the people cannot deny how great the both of them work together.

“I don’t understand. Why did you do that?” I asked. I was a little bit exasperated when I found out it was true. It’s very unlike him to do that and I was scared that something is changing within him. Those men were supposed to live and I knew Nobunaga wasn’t the type to kill mercilessly especially not like that. What’s concerning me is that this small change could lead to a butterfly effect. Who knows what else will change just because of this small action.

Hideyoshi led me to the infirmary within the castle. He said it was urgent and I needed to be there. My heart was about to jump out of my chest because it was beating so fast. I don’t know what to expect when I open the doors but I know it’s something not good. When I slid open the doors, I saw Nobunaga standing by the two boys. Nobutaka was able to recover completely. He was able to stand and walk on his own again and he rarely relied on me to do anything now that he’s recovered. I was glad that he was able to do things on his own. He was getting pretty upset with himself because he didn’t want to keep relying on me. I told him that he just needs to focus on recovering and he will be able to get up on his own.

“Who was that ninja? Do you know him?” He asked. I thought the doctor told you not to evoke my memories? “I don’t know his name. All I know is that I’ve seen his face before. I don’t know what he wants from me so stop asking.” My head started to hurt again and the pain made me angry for some reason and I raised my voice at Nobunaga. I realized what I did and it was too late for me to bite my tongue. I stood up and tried to leave but he stopped me. “Did he tell you anything?” He asked as he grabbed my arm to stop me from leaving. I was reluctant; I don’t know if I should tell him or not. I decided to tell him the truth. I have no reason to hide it from him since that ninja must be a bad guy. I mean, he has to be, right?
