[Madison]The light in the room was low. Dark wood floors led up to cream colored wainscoting below pale blue and gold wallpaper. There was some unimpressive art on the wall and fake plants in the corners helping to dampen the echoes of the mostly empty room. There was a table with a white cloth and dark napkins. On the table was a carafe with ice water and two tumblers. The centerpiece was a lamp with a fake, flickering flame.

[Madison] “Am I just food to you?” Ford asked solemnly. “This feels like a real relationship, but I haven’t had many of those. Are you gonna leave when you find somethin’ better?”

Moran dialed and set the phone on the table. It rang twice before it was answered.     “Who the fuck is this?” Serena grumbled.
