Chapter 11- Secret Revealed pt1
My gaze flickered around the uninviting wood as I struggled desperately to hold on to my sanity. I was certain I didn't imagine what I had seen back there. The painful bruise that was now forming on the back of my hand as I had grazed it on the rough wall was a reminder I didn't imagine it. I panted as I rested my body on one of the tree trunks present. I hadn't even thought of running back to the house, which was just a few seconds away because I was so desperate to flee and had forgotten. My head pounded, as well as did my heart, as I thought of the baby I had left alone in the basement. Aiden was sure going to kill me for putting his daughter in danger, and perhaps I might lose the job again because of my inability to care for her. If only I had minded my business and left the whining sound alone. As this saying goes, ‘curiosity killed the cat’ I was curious, and who knows what would happen to me? Perhaps I would end up like the cat. I lurched, and my heart raced as I heard a

Chapter 12: Secret Revealed pt 2
AIDEN The thought of what I had wanted to do with Elena kept playing in my head. Yes, my wish was to mark her but never to take advantage of her because that was what would have happened. I had darted out of the house as soon as night fell in desperate need to prevent myself from doing what I would regret, as I have no constraint on what was happening to me. I understood I needed to mate to take away the urges. However, even the woman I would have liked to be with wasn't ready to wed or do anything with me. When I told her about the wedding, it enraged her. Heck, even when I had cautioned her not to leave the house, she had been pissed, but I was doing all in my power to protect her. Letting her on the secret about me was a tad too difficult, and that would make her frightened and perhaps run away. However, this time to anywhere no one could trace, which would be the worst thing since J. J was in town. He wouldn't hesitate to track her down, nor kill anyone that prevented him

13: Revelation pt 1
Aiden I twisted on the fluffy king-size bed I was on, jerked awake as my hands came in contact with a pillow instead of a warm body.I felt the part of the bed Elena had slept on, to realize she had long gone out of it. Swinging my feet on the frigid floor, I roamed around the house in only a pyjamas bottom, yelling her name.I panicked as I received no reply and the image of yesterday's event flashed back into my mind. Whooshing across the living room, I bumped into a warm body. Elena yelped at the abruptness, and my hand shot out to steady her. I noticed she was dressed up in the clothes she had been on the first day and her bag was with her. She moved past me as my hands left her body. “Where are you going?”She halted, swirled and stared straight through me.“Home.” she replied with a poker face.I shoved my hand through my hair, glaring at her. “You can't go home!”“Why not?” “Because b-because you are my fucking mate!” I gritted my teeth. Her brows furrowed as she gazed

Chapter 14: Revelation pt 2
Elena I swatted the hand he stretched out to grip mine away whilst scowling at him. Aiden stared at me with searching blue eyes. I stared back at him. He seemed quite shaken because of what might have happened. Still, I was perplexed because If I had magic, I would know. Also, it would have manifested long ago. Though I often had dreams of me casting some spells which were absurd, hearing it come from Aiden sounded even more ridiculous. My brain was still fuzzy from the narration Aiden had made. I burst into a peal of laughter and was on my way to hysteria when Aiden gripped my shoulder, stroking my back as I began to wheeze. He released me after a while, but he was still close by. I gasped as I tried to contain the laughter that threatened to burst out again. “I have magic?” I repeated, giggling. “I guess you don't remember then because if you had, you choking me won't sound hilarious to you.” He pointed out. Aiden's gaze still held that serious intensity to it. I had mag

Chapter 15- Attacked
Elena"Holy Moly, Lena! Is that Aiden Crooks?" Renee exclaimed as I entered the room.I nodded then swirled back to Aiden who was in his car. He had a smirk on his face which meant he had been listening to our conversations."I wonder how I would get used to his supernatural abilities," I murmured to myself.I had read a bit on the history of the Crooks family from the books I had borrowed in his library.

Chapter 16: Rescue
AIDEN I jerked as I felt a twinge on my left side. It was as if someone was tugging at my flesh. Groaning, I clutched my palpitating heart whilst leaning on the round table for support. “What's wrong?” Liam questioned with a raised eyebrow, whilst Kellen and Maya sidled to my side. Sparkles lifted her gaze from her phone to meet mine. Her inquisitive ultramarine orbs stayed on mine for a few seconds before glancing back at her phone. “I'm fine,” I grunted, then beckoned to her to proceed. “If you say so,” Ellen muttered, still watching me from where she stood at the centre of the room. “The number of casualties is increasing every day. Also, Mark told me he notices some humans walking around the territory with weird tattoos on their skins.” I lifted a brow, and she shrugged her shoulders before continuing. “The locals are filled with a lot of rumours lately.” “Rumours about?” I let out whilst five pairs of eyes with different hues gazed at me as if I was dumb. Perhaps, since my

Chapter 17: Fever
AIDEN As I drove through the almost empty street of Lone Oak- It was named so because people could see only a few people and cars moving in and out of it. It was the loneliest street as far as West Vale was concerned- I occasionally stole glances at Elena; she was mumbling incoherently, and the back of my palm went to her forehead to feel her temperature. Grimacing, I withdrew my hand and then switched on the air-conditioner to cool her heated skin. It was getting worse at the moment, and it was beginning to terrify me. She had been fine yesterday and never showed any sign of fever. Heck, we had even argued, but no sign of her feeling this unwell.Perhaps, she was bitten; I thought to myself. My breath quickened, and with trembling hands, I brushed aside the strands of white hair covering her neck gently whilst searching for any mark. My tensed body relaxed, and I let out a sigh of relief as I found none. Moreover, Elena was still trying to comprehend all that was happening, and I

Chapter 18: Approval and sparkles outburst
I had come around to see Aiden's arms wrapped around me. Then I nudged him awake after observing the way he slept for a few moments. I remembered the startled look on his face before it broke out into the boyish grin I now adore. I didn't know how long I had been out exactly, but I was told it was for four days. Also, the only thing I remembered was seeing Aiden's blood-stained neck. Smiling, I shook my head at the memory whilst standing in the middle of the vast room. I took my time to gaze at where I was. Aiden had told me it was his room, and I noticed there wasn't much difference between this and his current house. The brown wallpaper that donned the wall added to the coolness of the room. The curtains were brown and drawn together, and the dim light that brightened the room was from the silver chandelier hung above. The only thing that wasn't present in the other house was the brown vanity beside the king-sized bed, and on it were varieties of skincare products. Aiden never

Chapter 19: Shopping
Elena“Yo!” Liam waved as he yelled from where he stood beside the red Aston Martin that was currently being fixed.“Hey." I grinned, waving back.Liam's face brightened up in his typical lopsided grin before he went back to what he was doing. His unclad body was covered with grease from the car and he was with Aiden, who had no shirt on as well.Aiden's muscles flexed as he tightened the loose bolt on the tyre of the Aston Martin, his toffee brown hair was a bit longer, lustrous, and tousled than ever.My hands clenched into a fist at my side, and I stomped my feet firmly to the ground so as not to embarrass myself by running to touch him. What I felt for Aiden was more than an attraction. It was obvious, though, and my body couldn't stop feeling hot whenever I stared at him.As if he sensed my gaze on him, he lifted his head, and his blue orbs bored into mine.My cheeks reddened, and I glanced away from his scrutiny.Aiden needed to only stare at me with those gorgeous, deep-set eyes

Chapter 20: Founders ball pt 1
ElenaEllen had helped with my makeup, and I was able to slip into my gown when she was done. I haven't seen what she did on my face since she had covered all the mirrors beforehand. I fidgeted and tugged at the rhinestone on the bodice of my dress as she led me to the mirror.I was way too scared of what I would look like if I eventually saw my face.My hand lifted to touch my hair, but she slapped it away.Ellen glared at me playfully before yelling,“Tada!” I lurched at the abruptness, and she beamed whilst tugging the clothes that covered the mirror away.My jaw slackened as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The person staring back at me didn't look anything like me. “How is it?” She lifted a slender brow as her eyes met mine in the mirror.“How is it?” I echoed back her question.Ellen had done a great job with my face because I looked as though I was a fairy tale princess. The princess I had always wanted to become without being tagged a bastard with it, a normal princ
