"So, you're not mad at me? Or upset?" Aubrey was nervous as she spoke to her best friend. She broke to her the news that she was going to move out in less than three weeks and surprisingly for Aubrey, Maria took it so well, or she appeared to be taking it well.          "Why would I? I already knew you were going to move soon. It was a matter of time," Maria assured her. "I'm definitely upset but not with you. I'm just upset because I'm going to miss you." The two girls were sitting in their backyard on the grass enjoying the sunset. It was a beautiful sunset where the sky was painted with beautiful hues of purple, pink and orange.           "I'm not moving far away. Jordan lives close," Aubrey said, resting her head on her pulled up knees as she looked at Maria.          "This lessens my sadness." Maria smiled at her. "But you'll sleepover at my place, okay? And we will sti

Her head was throbbing with unbearable pain. There was a loud whistle in her ears that made her in a desperate need to scream. Even screaming was a task she could not do. Her tongue was heavy and she could barely move it inside her mouth. She tried to open her mouth, yet she failed as if something was blocking its way.          Opening her eyes required a lot of effort and energy that she did not obtain. After many attempts, she could only half-open them; that wasn't enough to make her recognize her surroundings as her eyesight was not clear enough. Her heart was threatening to leap out of her chest as its beats were painful as if it was hammering instead of beating. She tried to let out a soft whimper and she did not know if she produced the sound or not.          An oppressive weight was present on her chest, giving her obvious troubles in breathing. She was not sure if her body was shaking as much as her heart was,

If facial features could talk, theirs would scream with worry and fear. Aubrey had been missing for the past eighteen hours and nobody was aware of her whereabouts. The last thing Maria knew about her was her short trip to the grocery store and she hadn't seen her ever since.          "She's not even answering her phone! Bree doesn't do that!" Jordan tugged at his hair out of anger. He wanted to know where his girl was. He was worried sick about her and the number of hours she had been missing did not give anyone the relaxation they needed to calm their nerves.           "I wish I could tell you calm down, but I can't even get myself to calm down," Jessica muttered in frustration as she put her head in her hands. They had already informed the police about Aubrey's sudden disappearance five hours ago and they had not come to any findings other than the fact that her car was still at the parking lot of the grocery

Her eyes were wide in fear. She couldn't believe who was before her eyes. Austin. Not once had it crossed her mind that his desire for revenge would be that strong, that cruel. Although she was tied up, it was pretty clear that her whole body was shaking. Who would blame her though? She was in a terrible condition and in a messed up situation.          "W-why?" she stammered, scared of receiving another slap for just doing a simple task. Talking. Her cheek was already throbbing with pain and she could feel droplets of blood running down her chin.          "Let me enlighten you, even though I'd love to leave you oblivious." He pulled an old metal chair and brought it close to the bed she was tied up to. The closer he got, the more terrorized she became. "You know, Bree. I've always liked you. I even loved you at some point." She wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel. She didn't know if she ought to be startled or te

"It's been three days! Three days and nobody knows where she is!" Jordan threw the vase that was previously placed on the table on the floor, breaking it into hundreds of small pieces. Ever since Aubrey's disappearance, he hadn't been okay. His nights were long and sleepless and his days were exhausting and stressful. He wasn't okay in any way. He was going out of his mind and the fact that he saw the footage of her being put in the back of the car sent him nuts. His blood boiled in his veins when he saw her struggling in the man's grip. If that man was in front of him, he was willing to skin him alive for what he did to his girl.           The security cameras of the supermarket were able to catch glimpses of what happened, but the kidnapper was still unidentified as he had half of his face covered and it was dark to notice anything significant about him.

Aubrey was sitting against the wall staring at the manacles on her wrists. There wasn't much to do. She had cleaned the place just as she was ordered and she made sure that she was clean, too. She wasn't sure how long she had been left alone in that place because there was no window. She was isolated from the whole world, not knowing when the day was and when the night was.Her stomach twisted in hunger and all she could do was pull her legs closer to her chest. She was growing weaker by that time. She did not know, but she had been left all alone in her jail for three days. The amount of food she had was minimal. There were two loaves of bread, three apples, and four cucumbers. She finished the food the day before and she hoped that Austin would come to bring her more food. She was scared of what he might do to her when he showed up, but she also knew that she wouldn't survive if he left her longer than that. She was traumatized after what he had done to her an

Aubrey was awake, but she was barely conscious. She was still chained and blindfolded. She could tell that her period blood filled the area where she was chained, but she could barely move. She couldn't even lift up her head. Her blood pressure was low and so was her blood sugar. She was dizzy and she was close to passing out again. Her body was in great need of food and nobody was there to provide her with what she needed. Her skin was pale and her body was shivering slightly; she was a bit cold. She had been chained for a whole day, which meant that she had not eaten anything for two days and during the previous two days, she barely had anything to silence the growls of her hungry stomach and aching body. She could hear the door being opened, which ignited her heart with some bits of hope. She wanted to stand up, to beg him for food, to plead for her freedom out of those tight cuffs, but she could barely part her lips to produce any sound.

"I've been following him for five days and the outcome is nothing!" Jordan rubbed his forehead as he sat with Aubrey's parents, his own parents, his siblings, and Maria. They were all gathered at Jordan's family house as Jordan's parents invited Aubrey's parents for dinner and they also wanted to show their support. Aubrey was like a daughter to them and they were worried about her.           They noticed the change that happened in Jordan's life after she appeared in it, they could tell that she made their son happier and she was there for the family through every thick and thin.           "Jordan, why are you so sure that he is hiding something? Maybe he's really innocent," his mother talked to him. She knew her son was thinking with his emotions more than his mind and he might develop some irrational thoughts because he did not know Aubrey's whereabouts.           "He is sick, mum.

"I've got great news," the private detective, Emmitt, said as he walked inside the Hills' family house. He called Jordan half an hour ago asking him where he was and on knowing his whereabouts, he immediately made his way to him.           "You found her?" Jessica's eyes lit upon hearing him say that. This was the only kind of great news she wanted to hear about at that moment.           "I believe so," he replied, earning everyone's attention. "I put a tracker on Austin's car and I noticed that he went to a place outside of the city, about two hours away. It's a place in the woods. When I followed him, I saw him going inside a cabin right in the middle of the woods."           "What else? Did you see her?" Jordan could not contain his curiosity and eagerness to know more.           "I couldn't look inside as there were no windows or anything. I even kn

Paramedics approached Jordan and carefully took Aubrey away from him. They put her fragile bruised body on the stretcher and Jordan rode in the ambulance with her. He looked at her face and tried to conceal his agony. Parts of her face were bruised, there was a small gash on the top of her head and her lips were swollen. He glanced at her hand and saw cuts and scratches all over them.It was hard for him to imagine the terror she went through. It was obvious that she experienced a lot of pain, a lot of torture that nobody deserved. The nearest hospital was almost forty minutes away and during the whole time, Jordan's eyes did not dart away from hers. The only time he glanced away from her was when he texted everybody telling them that they had found her and informing them which hospital Aubrey would be taken to.Five minutes away before arriving at the hospital, Aubrey let out a soft groan and her eyes started fluttering. The first moment she opened her eyes, she nearl
