I hadn't heard from my parents or Grant since leaving their house. It felt like every time my life gained a little normalcy it spun in a different direction that had me guessing what was and wasn't going to be a lie or go wrong. I had decided against confronting Bel and Sadie about what they were doing me with. Instead I just made more of a point to stick by Julian when Gerwulf wasn't around. He was the only one giving me answers about anything to do with shapeshifters. Even Bel himself being one would keep a tight lip about it always saying," Alpha's orders." For the next two days I made it seem like everything was still normal. We picked up my dress for the ceremony. It was dark green, and easy to put on and remove. The top was fitted and cut so that my bust showed but below the hip it was long and flowed onto the ground. I felt I looked more fae than wolf in it. They had given me a flower crown of fake green and white roses to go with it.

Tension had been thick the last few weeks between Ash Walker and Mountain Crawler. Jade found out she was having a male pup and neither Alpha could agree on if Simon truly deserved to know. A first born son was highly coveted with wolves. Ross wanted to tell him and beat him within an inch of his life for not even so much as apologizing for leaving her without a goodbye. Gerwulf wanted to keep it a secret until Jade decided the time was right. Beth and I had both stepped up in our duties as Luna and Beta female. More pack members meant more mouths to feed and housing to be provided. Plans had started when it came to diving the defunct pack's territories. Ross wanted the northern borders with the higher mountain ranges. Forrest wanted the eastern areas to connect to where he'd securely hidden his coven. Gerwulf seems so apathetic about the entire ordeal. Any mention of where Delmar, Hylda, or Finn were being kept he just shrugged off. At one

"You did such a good job," Simon protectively held the little bundle of fabric. He gazed down totally fixated on every aspect of his son. He sat on the edge of the bed, giving Jade a look that seemed like love. Realization seemed to hit him and he quickly hid it," do you need anything?" He held out his arms carefully handing the baby over. "Water... maybe something other than hospital food?" Jade forced a smile. Simon kept his gaze on her for a moment more before getting up. We all moved for him to exit. "Well," Matthias spoke almost demanding. Jade rolled her eyes," well what?" "Don't be shy! Show us the baby!" Matthias retorted and we all roared into a fit of laughter. A smile slowly spread across Jade's face and she seemed to relax. The little multicolored fabric fell as she held her baby up for all of us to see. A mound of jet black hair stuck out in every direction, and a pair of ice blue eyes peeked out through mos

"I'll talk to my mom and see what she can do," Gerwulf was muttering to himself as he walked in circles around the room. I was left to sit on our bed and think to myself. Julian was missing. This pregnancy just hit a difficult point. Right now I needed some serious comfort and reassurance I knew was going to be hard to come by. "Come on," Gerwulf broke me out of my thoughts. He picked me up into his strong embrace carrying me bridal style. "Where are we going?" I sighed. Bed was what I wanted. "To see my mom. I can't just stand here and remain composed like usual. We need to try to do something... see if she can give us any insight that a traditional doctor can't," he more or less sounded as if speaking to himself. His eyes looked dazed as he hurriedly took us through the halls of Harvest Moon. They hadn't had a court witch in over twenty years because of Gerwulf's conception. The moment Hylda came i

WARNING - THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS A GRAPHIC DEATH Willing my feet to move was near impossible. The agonizing screams filled the air along with the thick fog of smoke. Wolves were swarming the clashing groups of vampires. Quickly the open fields and streets of the town were crowded. It was horrid seeing that so many bodies were present people were fighting side by side with the lack of room. The pungent smell of copper being carried in the wind. I had to grab onto the doorway to keep myself from falling over as my knees began shaking watching the scene unfold. Gerwulf's fire was high in the air licking the fabric of the cloaks the royal blue vampires wore. I watched one by one as they were set ablaze letting out guttural screams of agony. Who was even attacking us and why? A sickening feeling was creeping into my soul saying it had to do with the person that Anais had mentioned. But why? I had never even he
