Before I head to bed, I check on Clarissa and sigh with relief when I see that she’s still sleeping.              I spend the morning recalling the confrontation between Amara and me. I’m still angry, but not as angry as I was before. Now, I’m more relieved because I told her off and am no longer burdened with my resentment.              Rowan texts me several times. Jules              As soon as I get home, I rush to my father’s office and place the keycard where it was. A noise startles me as I’m about to step out of the office. Stepping back into the doorway, I take a couple of deep breaths as the sound of muffled footsteps comes closer.              As quietly as I can, I close the office door, close my eyes, and concentrate on my super hearing.
