I marched into the dining hall that doubled as the conference room and snarled at Glob's perfect face."I want to go home."He was seated at the head of the table, with Keanu and Logan on either side of him."Ms.Bishop,please sit." he asked in a tone that made me feel like a little girl that was barely tolerated.I folded my hands and stared him down, wishing I could use one of his beautiful horns to give him an enema.Wayne walked past me and took a seat beside Keanu who conspicuously avoided meeting my eyes.Which added fuel to the flames of my anger.Make it an enema and a prostate exam.Wait, why is there now an image of two perfectly proportioned butt cheeks in my head. You're angry Judah! Keep it together!"Who the hell do you think you are? Commanding us like a herd of sheep, keeping us here against our will and wooing us with you

Electricity crackled and bounced off of Ulrik, thinning out like barbed wire to pull at his thick skin, sparking as it encircled him and pumping out blinding light.Keanu and I shaded our eyes as we watched him struggle to reach a now glowing Logan. "Ulrik you must retreat! Her energy is too unstable, she has no control!" Glob called out over the din of wind, rain and clanging thunder. Keanu pulled me back and put his arm around me protectively-cue raging stomach butterflies-as Ulrik barred his teeth and tried to push farther. He appeared to be running in slow motion, his entire body sparking now, covered in strips of crackling white electricity. "He might just be more stubborn than I am after all," I tilted my head as Ulrik seemed to lose his footing and go still, then resumed his strenuous effort. Keanu grunted noncommittally and shook water from his hair. "Gives a new meaning to 'thic

The darkness above separated from the night and formed an enormous mass of moving, flapping black that was punctuated by red dots."What the hell..." Logan muttered."It's their eyes," Keanu answered her unfinished question.Ulrik chanted softly beside him and his purple aura grew and pulsated, his eyes now completely violet.Keanu broke away from the semi circle we had formed to grab a thick, jagged piece of wood that had broken from a small table. There were exposed nails sticking out of the jagged end so though it might be a crude, last ditched weapon,it looked pretty lethal. He came back to my side and we looked at eachother an instant before our attention was diverted to what was left of the roof. The enormous hole was now filled with dozens upon dozens of feathered creatures. They were motionless, leering at us with malevolent, red eyes and all but preventing the rain from streaming down;so closely together were they packed.I saw talons and hooked, pointed bea

My eye lids felt as if they were laden with ten tonne weights and trying to open them seemed too much of an effort so I left them closed and enjoyed the heavy, comfortable feel of my body, the complete lack of pain. I'd always been unrepentantly lazy,so why change now? My head was woozy and thick,as if I were drugged, but that felt good too. If this is what being high is like then maybe I should try it. Shouldn't I be in pain though? Was I remembering correctly or did we not almost get eaten by evil birds but were then saved by cute unicorn looking, two butted cats? Maybe I should try harder to dislodge those ten tonne weights after all. I opened my palms and stretched my fingers. It was like pushing through mud, though I felt nothing at my fingertips. Maybe this high thing isn't all it's cracked up to be because nothing's

We wove through the idyllic garden and my mouth watered at the sight of the heavily laden fruit trees, some of which looked too exotic for me to identify.I had to remind myself that I'd just eaten but promised my belly we'd be back. I heard a snatch of muted conversation between Glob and Logan and dragged Keanu with me as I edged closer so we could eavesdrop. "Being in Opa brings forth your abilities,as this is a land of energy and magic, where all your abilities were formed," Glob was saying and Logan pressed a hand to her stomach,as if she were feeling pain,or remembering it. "So that's why it was so hard for me to control the lightening and keep it in?" She asked, looking up at him with her curls now brilliantly auburn in the sunlight. "Yes and no.Your power and your ability to control it is tied up in your emotions so if you've been trying to suppress anything,if any feeling has been buried in your
