Jasmine's POV After work on Tuesday, I went to the hospital to see my mom. I walked slowly to the room she was in. I hated hospitals. The scent of antibacterial cleaning products lingered in the halls and it always felt like the cold hands of death were reaching for me.I pushed in room fourteen and saw my mother lying down on the bed with machines attached to her to help her breathe, a mask over her nostril area to flow oxygen to her lungs, and a monitor beeping to indicate her heart rate. She looked like she was asleep. Or dead. "Mom, I'm here. I know you're slipping away from me and Zenia as the days go by, but I'll do something to get that money so you can have a successful lung transplant. I can't let you die knowing I've done absolutely nothing to save you. I don't care if I have to sell my body to make that money, I'll do it for you Mommy." I buried my face at the side of my mother and I began crying bitterly. I hated seeing her like

Jasmine's POV When I got home from an exhausting day at the office, I threw myself down on the couch. It was obvious that Mr. Hollen was absent because the work load had gone into oblivion and beyond and nothing was going smoothly. Meetings after meetings were rescheduled and put off, deadlines weren't being met, and the list went on. When Mr. Hollen gets back, he's going to flip out. My cellphone rang, causing me to leap. I looked at the number. Unknown. I hated answering unknown numbers but I answered anyway. "This is Jasmine," I spoke. "Hello Jasmine. It's Dr. Shannon from the hospital."My heart stopped. "Your mother is awake and she wishes to see you and your sister." My heart started beating again. "Thank you. We'll be there as soon as possible." "Okay. Goodbye." "Goodbye."I got up and went to find my sister.

Evan's POV Wednesday came quickly and I was finally heading back to my company. I had flown out of the Cayman Islands on Tuesday afternoon when I received an important phone call from Josh that stated that I would have to be present on Wednesday morning to seal the deal with a fortune company we'd e been targeting for over a year now. I pulled into my private parking spot in my black metallic Audi. I took the private elevator up and arrived at my floor. I stepped out of the elevator and adjusted my tie as I strolled towards my office. I was stopped on the way there by an overwrought secretary. "Mr. Hollen. Welcome back sir. Sir, these are the papers... and the documents... and the dates and times of the..." she was going on and on.I scooted past her and went directly into my office without a word. For Pete's sake, what the hell happened when I left? Miss Blackman knocked. I knew it was her. "C

Jasmine's POV The burning sensation in my chest wasn't from any happiness or lust; it was from the anger getting stored there; and I kept my sanity because I couldn't be completely bothered by Mr. Hollen and Jessica Hills. I had a younger sister to look after and a dying mother to worry about. Although it did come as a shock at first because he was described as a 'playboy bachelor'; in a funny kind of way, I was happy he was finally settling down with someone.I just hated it was her. ________________________At the end of the day I gathered my things and stuffed my belongings into my bag. I refreshed myself with a glass of water and headed for the elevator. As I got in he got in with me."Hi," he greeted with a smile I'd never seen. "Good afternoon, sir.""Can we talk?" "About what, Mr. Hollen?""About us." My eyes popped out of their sockets as my ears collected his words. Us?

Jasmine's POV I felt bad.I felt terrible. A sickening feeling at the pit of my stomach made the ride to the hospital very, very uncomfortable, and my sister wasn't helping my current feelings. Instead, she kept on asking Bradley exasperating questions about me and him. He was blushing like a clown and seemed to enjoy talking about his intentions on fixing what was broken between me and him and becoming a better man. I was the only one who wasn't interested in the conversation because I could not shake the image of Mr. Hollen's eyes murdering me when I got into the car with Bradley. Things happen and sometimes you don't know how you've gotten to a point in life, but, yet for all, you're still there. "This is great Jassy. Maybe reconnecting with Bradley wasn't such a bad thing," Zenia said."Oh, we both know why I'm now tolerating him, Zenia," I said back, shaking my head from the thoughts of even hav
