I lean my ear on the door like the first time I did this——eavesdropping on their conversation. “Grow up, Jamie. Stop relying on dad. The day is peaceful. I stand by Jamie’s side like a standing lamp while Jamie is busy getting his job done before he leaves for the three days trip to New York City he planned. He hasn’t been walking out of the office though. Lunch time on Thursday, the restaurants and cafes are filled with people as usual, but not Dominguez Cuisine. I can see Jamie through the glass walls, he is sitting at the table in the middle. He waves at me when he sees me walking to the door. I smile and wave back at him. The receptionist seems to recognize me from the last meeting with Jamie, he lets me enter the restaurant and proceed to Jamie’s table by myself. When I am with Jamie, indeed, who doesn’t remember me? After sending Jamie off, I drive Jamie’s Mercedes Benz S-Class back to my place. I bring Marie up to my penthouse. I take a quick bath and put on my robe. I hold a glass of champagne in my hand and lean on the black marble countertop. I observe Marie as she walks around the house, sniffing everything she can, trying to get familiar with the new environment. After wandering around for quite a while, she comes to my feet and rubs her face on my leg. I put the glass on the countertop and squat down. I pat her head, gently. “Meow.” she meowed, rubbing her head on my palm and blinking slowly and languidly at me. 

The high efficiency of the workers behind the counter made the customers’ morning easier, it just took a few minutes for me to take over the lead of the queue. I put up a smile when I see Daniella as I come to the counter. In a great spirit I greet her, “Hey.” Brightly Daniella smiles back at me, “Hi, what would you like to have?” I take out the point card from my wallet, I hold it in my hand as I say, “As usual.” Yeah. Daniella knows what I always order. Yet… “As usual…?”
