Chapter 13 Wendy
Quiet. Everything is quiet. Everything but the T.V. I’m not even paying attention. I just wanted to entertain Lucas, but I’m a boring person so… I lazily move my head towards Lucas. Dead asleep. All that time looking for that remote leads to a dead guy on my couch. The sun was already setting, it must be around 6 o’clock. I’ll make dinner later. He might need to sleep more and eat on an empty stomach. Would that be good? That means he’s going to be a hungry man, I can deal with that.I stand up and turn off whatever was on. I was wasting my life daydreaming, nothing new. I organize a small couch bed for Lucas and slowly lay him down. I thought he would be lighter but he’s not. What has he been eating?I let out a bre

Chapter 14 Lucas
“No, no, no,” I repeat to myself while pacing around my room. I covered my face with embarrassment. “What happened to me!” I plop on the bed and violently shake my head. Stupid, stupid stupid! Why must all the dumb stuff happen to me? First the incident at the mall, then the nose hit, now that stupid close up. Life is so hard. That scene will forever be stuck in my head. Gosh, that was so embarrassing. The moment she opened the door it felt like time stopped. The moment our eyes connected, I froze. The scent of her shampoo lingered around me. I glazed down to her lips. They were a light pink color and looked as soft as a pillow. I slowly leaned forward without knowing.“Umm. What are you doing?” Wendy asked, confused

Chapter 15 Amber
“I don’t trust that Lucas kid. There’s something about him that I don’t like,” I mumbled to Eric as he was driving me home. “Maybe it’s his looks.” “Shut up. You don’t like anyone on the first try. That’s what you did to me, your brother, and Wendy. You’re like two-faced until you get to know them more.” I gasp, “How dare you? I’m not two-faced. I just put on a smile and pretend I like them. I only do that because they have to make me like them.” “Sounds a bit toxic. I know you’re not but don’t pretend to like someone. That’ll just make you seem toxic.”  “It’s not my fault! I just don’t trust people that well.” “Sure, whatever you say,” Eric says as he rolls his eyes. He continues driving.

Chapter 16 Eric
“Mom, I’m home!” I yell as I enter the house. I look over at the stack of heels my sister leaves in the corner. I sigh, another day here.  I walk around the house looking for mom. The window was covered, barely any light coming in.  I walk to the diner room seeing both my sister and mom. Guessing how quiet our mom is, they must’ve had a serious talk. “What’s up?” I ask as I set myself on a chair.  “Nothing. Just a friendly chat with mom,” My sister says.  I glance at my mom to see any sign in her, emotionless. Nothing new. “How was work then?” “Good. Thankfully, it was a half-day. I was lacking sleep.” “That’s good,” I grab my mom’s hand. “How about you?

Chapter 17 Wendy
I was in my room, watching my casual show before I got a phone call. “Hello?” I say as I pick up the phone. “Hi, honey. I haven’t talked to you in a while,” A female voice speaks from the other side of the phone. “I know mom. You’ve been busy.” “Sorry, Wendy. I was planning on taking a week break soon so I can spend more time with you.” My eyes widen, “So sudden? You should’ve given me a month's warning.” “I wanted to surprise you but I couldn’t hold it in. I’m so excited to see you soon, honey,” She says in a baby voice. “No, mom! The house is… dirty?” “The house is dirty? Is Veronica not doing her job? Should we fire her?” Her

Chapter 18 Lucas
Done. All the laundry has been cleaned. I feel useful.  Once Wendy left, I felt bored. I didn’t want to use anything that isn’t mine, like the arcade, the T.V, everything. The least I can do is to do nothing and sit and watch time pass by, but that would be boring. I started to gather ideas but everything felt too little. My final decision was to do laundry. How exciting. I messed up a few times. Accidentally put the wrong things in the washer. I’m not going to say what, but I am going to say I did it wrong. Let’s say the clothes got a bit smaller than usual.  Now, I have nothing to do. There are no dishes to clean, everything is spotless, and Wendy seems busy. I check the clock above the T.V, 9:09. An hour left, 60 minutes left, something seconds left. I thought doing the laundry would take more time.

Chapter 19 Wendy
We were driving to the nearest supermarket. Lucas was quiet after the odd situation. That’s what he gets for eavesdropping.  There were times where he would whisper to himself and when I asked him what he said he pretended to play dead. Quite odd but I’ll let him be. I guess, this is like karma but I’m not sure. Karma to me or him, right now probably me.  “Lucas, today got me thinking about college for you. You may have to start from the beginning. So like, the first year of college.” “Second year. I took a year of engineering before being homeless.” “But you’re starting a new major. Unless you want engineering to be your major and business to be your minor, then that’s up on the table. “I think that’s a good o

Chapter 20 Lucas
Where the heck are we going? The car keeps shaking and there are bumps everywhere! Without the seatbelt, I would’ve hit my head on the roof like nine times. “Wendy!” I scream hoping she would hear me over her evil laugh. “I think it’s time to go home!”“Never!”Oh gosh, I'm going to die today. I haven't even become a dad yet. What a waste of 20 years. I’m sorry to my pet mouse that I couldn’t feed you well. I will join you soon. I close my eyes. Before my life could end, Wendy did a sharp turn, making me bang my head on the window. “Oops. I should’ve said a warning. That must’ve hurt,” She says as I rub my injured head. &ldqu

Chapter 21 Wendy
Day after day, Lucas has really grown on me. Lately, we’ve been posting photos of Lucas on Instagram. It’s going quite well since he’s good-looking. He does want to become a model so this could make it a step forward towards his goal. Spring Break has already ended and I’ve been extremely busy. Exams are coming up and I’ve been ditching Lucas home with Veronica. Do I feel bad for him? No, he should be happy he doesn’t have to worry about exams. “I’m leaving for the library. Bye!” I scream out. It was already 12 and Lucas was practicing his selfies. To be honest, if it wasn’t for me he would’ve looked like a goblin in those photos. I met up with Amber at the entrance of the library. She was on a phone call, probably with Jay. “H

Chapter 22 Wendy
Gosh, my heart is racing. I was still near Rose but an aisle away. I can hear her fake sobs as Tyler confronts her. The adrenaline from that! I made a comeback without Amber. I should reward myself with some ice cream. I walk back with a successful smile. Amber was still concentrating but was still cautious with her surroundings.  “Where were you?” She asked, trying to sew the last piece of cloth. “Just in the bathroom. Nothing big,” I say in a cocky tone. “It must be a good pee if you look happy. Or was it a poo?”“It was poop. A massive one, in fact. I really wanted it out of my system. And there was pee. Just a small bit, but mostly poop.”“Sounds
