Chapter 51
Sometime later…               The August heat was baring down on the training field. Freya circled her opponent dodging an attack. Her hair in 2 short tight braids. After Kilian’s death, she had a breakdown taking scissors to her hair.               I was standing beside Sylvi as Mason played on the ground. He was such a big 18-month-old baby. His hair was starting to get darker; I loved the color and length. I threatened Sylvi daily not to cut it.                “He is seriously to precious.” I said to her gawking.               “I am beyond lucky to have him.” She admired.&nb

Chapter 52
“Excuse me?” I looked at him in shock.                “The patrol just linked me as we were sitting down.” He explained.                “Would you like me to go take care of it and report back Alpha?” He asked               I thought for a moment. We didn’t have any pressing issues that were more important than finding dead bodies. Not being sure if they were from my pack or if they were ditched there, I figured it best to just postpone the meeting.                             “Thank you for the offer. I think we can all agree

Chapter 53
On our way inside, Randolph linked Bjorn and had him come for a meeting. Chase was at his side and we decided that it was something he should be a part of as well. Chase’s face lit up as soon as Randolph stated his sentence, he was proud of his mate. I watched Bjorn carefully, he was confused at first not realizing what was happening. “I will not let you down Alphas.” Bjorn said with a determined look.                Once the warriors left the room, we did a run down of all the plans being put in motion. I decided to send out a few of the lone wolves that were bounty hunters into the nearby areas to sweep for clues. Something in my intuition was telling me that they were closer than I knew, if we could find them, we could attack first.                Bjorn and Chase

A knock on the door woke me from my sleep. I had my head on Randolph’s shoulder and could feel Lex’s arm around my waist. I blinked a few times trying to clear the fog. Lex stood and pulled the cover over me before going to the door.               I saw the scratches my nails left on his back last night and I smiled slightly. Those two men can take me out of this world. He glanced back at me smiling sensing my thoughts.                “This better be good.” He said firmly opening the door.                “Alpha, we have some news. I thought it best if I came right to you. All.” Erik said stepping inside.             &nbs

Chapter 55
We drove for 30 minutes before reaching our parking area. We wanted to stay a good distance away to keep the element of surprise on our side. I had sent half the team to the other side of the woods parking behind the camp.As we approached the camp, it was nearly deserted. You could see the matted grass where many vehicles park. I attempted to link Lex and I could feel him blocking me. I pushed harder before he opened his end.  This better be good. He greeted me. There aren’t enough people here. Be ready for an attack. I replied before blocking him out.“I think you should go back to the vehicles my queen.” Randolph said next to me. “I am staying. I am going to head up that tree there, wait for my signal before you attack.” I said to him before sneaking over to the tree.I was a skilled climber. I had taken time to train in various terrain and s

Chapter 56
As we approached the house, we noticed a few people had gathered on the porch, everyone seemed badly wounded in one way or another. There was blood almost everywhere. Alexander strode past the porch checking things over as we went to shift in the garage.               We shifted and instantly his arms were around me. He was holding me as if he would never let go. I could hardly breath; I tapped his side and he relaxed slightly. I took a deep breath feeling the oxygen fill my lungs.               “Sorry. Are you okay?” He asked placing his hands on my face.               “I don’t think I will know that for a while. I feel so much death. It feels different though. I don’t feel the need to fall apart. We need to do this.&rdquo

I paced around our bedroom that now had 2 cots placed in different corners, the couch made into a bed. We were accommodating everyone left into the one house that was severely damaged. Only 2 fae families survived other than Renard, Mary, and Edyth. Freya managed to save 10 children from 6-16 years old, 4 adult wolves, and Edyth in the building.               Leo was amongst the deceased. Only 2 lone wolves survived. There were another 4 warriors that survived the fighting at the house. Our numbers had dropped below 50 with no response when trying to check in with anyone who was still on the road. We set up a schedule so everyone could rest. I was waiting for Randolph and Lex to return.               “Mama.” Freya said opening the door. I nodded for her to enter. “There was a lot of death today.” She said

Chapter 58
The last week went by in the blink of an eye. The repairs were mostly completed around the packhouse We listed the farm for sale, the clearing team was almost finished. An offer came in 2 days after listing, we accepted glad to be rid of the horrific scene.                I stood on the back porch with my coffee watching the teenagers training. There were 2 children, 11 and 10 years old, trying to mimic the advanced moves. I took a breath of fresh air, the breeze was cool but it was warmer than average. I heard footsteps approach and felt Sylvi’s presence before she spoke.                “You seem to be in a good mood today.” She said holding her cup over the railing.                “A week with no future attacks will do that.” I stated grimly. “The wea

I sat naked, on the floor, in the center of my ritual blanket. The candlelight flickered softly against my skin. I was doing my best to relax and remain open calling to the gods. I wanted reassurance that we were making the right move. I had no need for more bloodshed.                I let out my frustration as a sigh and a roll of my eyes. “I know I have been busy and closed off, but that was just because so much happened.” I said aloud. “I just need something, anything to tell me we are doing what is right!” I yelled.                Nothing happened. After all the times the goddess had spoke though me, my moments in other worlds with them, nothing. I felt a sense of desertion, like they had abandoned me. We were not turning out like they wished, they finally had enough. A knock on the door startled me.
