Chapter 10: Our book of revelations
Lucifer              I give Lana one last long look before I flash to my throne room. Thinking through my options, I send out several texts and evaluate everything Lana has shared with me. Lana is finally becoming aware of the angel living inside her, which, based on my conversation with Michael, concerns me greatly. If her angel is making itself know, then it’s becoming more powerful.              I look through my tomes for answers as I consider all of the angles to this new revelation.              Within a half-hour, Azazel, Fallon, and Michael appear in my throne room. All eyes turn to Michael as soon as he appears. Rising from my seat, I stop beside my brother and say, “Michael, this is my son, Fallon and one of my former demon lords, Azazel.”

Chapter 11: Any thoughts
Lana                           …Freedom comes at a price. I observe through my eyes helplessly as I repeat those words to Lucifer. I know that this is no nightmare, though. No, I can still feel everything, but I’m not longer in the driver’s seat of my body. Fractured emotions rush through my mind as I try to seduce Michael and threaten Lucifer. I want to scream for help, but I can’t. As I lie in wait, trapped in my own body, I begin to understand what I am. Flashes of what I thought were visions turn out to be memories. Fear overwhelms me when Lucifer asks the other me about the fires, and my vision begins to darken. A ball of ice spreads across my body, coating me with power as I see images of bloody oceans and every light in the sky dim until I’m in complete darkness. It’s only when I feel a familiar

Chapter 12: Wait, there’s more?
Chapter 12: Wait, there’s more?Lucifer              I hold Lana’s hand as I flash us back to her temporary home. This morning we woke up, made love, and bathed together. Or at least I tried to bathe before I bent her over the shower stall and took her again. We kissed and touched for a while, content to be in each other’s arms until we had no choice but to leave.              “I know there’s a lot we need to speak about, luv. Can I come by tonight?” I mutter against her plump lips.              I want to explain everything, but with how delicate her tenuous hold on Apolliana is at the moment, I worry that I might drive her over the edge.              La

Chapter 13: Maybe I just need to take my meds
Lana              I wipe my dirty hands on my shorts as I take a couple of samples from an old sedimentary deposit. I look around the large cavern and make my way to some of the niches on the ground. Water flows from the openings on the wall, and shadows dance around the ground from the flickering lights in the openings around the ceiling. The cavern is beautiful with its earthy colors of red, brown and auburn. It feels like I’m walking inside of the sun. Smiling widely, I walk across the smooth ground until I come to a massive drop below. The yawning opening is pretty deep. Earlier, I threw a large rock, and it took a while before I heard it strike the ground.              “I wouldn’t get closer if I were you, chérie.” A smooth male voice mutters behind me.       &n

Chapter 14: Turning point
Lucifer              I look down at my beautiful mate’s face and clench my jaw tightly as I flash us to my home. Though she holds on to my arms tightly, her breathing is still erratic. “It’s getting harder to control her,” she whispers.               I lay her on top of the bed and run my gaze appraisingly over her once again. In my long existence, I’ve experienced very little loss. However, as I stood before my mate and watched her struggle with her madness, fear as I’ve never known overwhelmed me. During that moment, I could feel Apolliana’s hold over her, strengthening. “I know it is, luv. But you broke through, and that’s all that matters for now.”              She bends her knees and wraps her arms around them.

Chapter 15: Abandon all hope?
Lana               My eyes feel heavy as I slowly awaken. I do a full-body stretch before I tuck my head closer to Lucifer’s neck. His fingers traverse gently down my spine, and his chest rises and falls with his steady breaths. After a moment, I glance up at him from the fringe of my lashes. He must feel my gaze because he stops caressing me and smiles. “Good morning, mate,” he mutters huskily.                        A corresponding smile stretches across my lips. Even with all of the things that have been happening, I can’t but feel extremely contented to be in my mate’s arms. It also makes something inside of me heal when he calls me his mate.               Lucifer angles us both to face each other and slides his fingers down

Chapter 16: Fates be Damned
Lucifer               Michael, Lana and I do not waste a moment getting to Santorini. It’s deep into the night when we reach the city center. I look around the starless sky before taking my mate’s hand and leading her toward a nearby street. Santorini is a beautiful city. With its ancient visage and cobblestone streets, you can get lost in its historical vibe. We look around the dimly lit streets and search the shadows.               “Do you know where we are supposed to meet the fate?” Michael asks.               I shake my head, “No, we were only able to guess on her proximity.”               He arches a sardonic brow, “She can be anywhere, frère.”       &n

Chapter 17: It’s beyond complicated
Lana              Looking, I blink my eyes, shocked to find myself in the middle of an empty street. My chest heaves and my body hurts as I rush through the streets. The sound of rushing feet behind me makes my heart beat wildly inside of my chest, and glass shatters around me, making me cry out with fear as I run into a building.               Slinking down on a nearby wall, I look around and make sure that I wasn’t followed. After a minute, I rest my head against the wall and close my eyes. I touch my cheek and wince when I hear a sound nearby. Reaching for a shard of glass on the ground, I lift it like a weapon. I look at the glassy surface and see that my ebony hair is tousled, my large, and my hazel eyes look sunken from lack of sleep. Let’s not forget how much my body aches from the beating I took before I ra

Chapter 18: It will begin
Lucifer              I look at Lana and can’t help but feel that something is off. Though we made love and held each other, I feel that I made a misstep when we spoke. I don’t know why, but I think my answer when she asked me if I cared for her was not the response she was expecting.              As my eyes run caressingly across her beautiful face, I think about everything she makes me feel. For so long, I was alone until I discovered Fallon’s existence. At first, I was in disbelief because I never thought I could have children. But when I saw him, I knew he was mine, and I felt our bond. I never in a million years thought I’d find myself facing my soul mate or that she’s chip away at the walls I put around my once dead heart.            &nbs

Chapter 19: It's time
Lana              I scream in my head as Apolliana raises her hand and pushes power into Michael and Rafel. Both males fly back as if struck and slide across the floor.              Lucifer grips me tightly, but I let my power cover him until his hold begins to loosen. Unfortunately, Apolliana uses his affection for me to her advantage because I know that he’s holding back from hurting us. His eyes glow fiery as he tries to fight me without doing me any harm, but Apolliana is too powerful. As Lucifer begins to lose consciousness, I conclude that Apolliana has finally gained full control of my being.              I almost vomit when she reaches for her weapon and aims it at Lucifer’s neck.          &
