CHAPTER 39

One month laterIt has been a month and three days already since I sent in my resignation letter at the hotel and it still did not make me feel any better. Sometimes I want to cry for loosing Ivan and sometimes I just want to punch him for not believing in me and letting me go so easily. He gave up on us.Jesse and Samantha have really been supportive, they have tried their possible best to keep me happy. I also moved in with Jesse because my rent had expired and I didn't have enough money to renew it.Jesse insisted I get a new job which I have been looking for quite sometime but I did not succeed because nobody agrees to employ me"You need to get a new job as soon as possible". She said"I've tried my best looking for a job but it feels like the word only recognizes me as Ivan's sex piece"."C'mon do not say that, well guess what?, I've found a job for you already""Really?Oh my god""Yeah, although the pay is not much... Please You can manage it"."Thank you so much Jesse, I really

CHAPTER 40

I woke up feeling a lot better today and I promised myself not to let any news or information about Ivan and Veronica make me cry again. I took a shower with a smile on my face, it seemed Ivan had moved on so I should do the same too.I wore my clothes for work, I needed to apologize to Miriam about yesterday's incident. I knew what I had done yesterday was bad, Miriam was a very nice person and I didn't want to take her kindness for granted. I liked the job I was given and Rio was my coach. He was fun to be with, I looked forward to the lessons today.I took a taxi and I arrived by 7:30, I guess I was early because I saw Rio walking to the entrance of the building too"Good morning Rio" I greeted him with a smile on my face"Good morning Adelia, you look better than yesterday. I'm happy you are better""Thanks, I'm looking forward to what you'll be teaching me today""Oh really, expect the best from me. I'm a good teacher" he said smiling"Don't flatter yourself" I said laughing "I'l

CHAPTER 41

IVAN'S POV I left to my house, not the penthouse this time but my home. After I got home, I could not think of anything else but to drink and sleep. That was the perfect routine for me at this point in my life. I just poured myself some whiskey when my phone rang. "It was Camilo" "Oh shit"I had completely forgotten about the hang-out. "What would be the perfect exercise?" I had to come up with something but nothing was coming to my mind. I heard the door alarm. It was Andre and I was sure of it. I just had to hang out with them whether I liked it or not, but it was going to be good. Something to get my mind off the issue on the ground. I opened the door and Andre came in. "You are not dressed yet, buddy" "I just got back. Wait for me let me change into something else" "No man.. you good. Let's go Camilo will be offended if we waste his time. He had some new chick to impress"I just picked up my phone and followed him out. The drive to the club was super lit. I trust Camilo

CHAPTER 42

IVAN'S POVMy sister Natasha spent the next few days with me. She wanted to be sure I was good until she leaves. She insisted on me taking a vacation and she was right. "You should take a break, get your head clear, and then come back and do the right thing""What is the right thing Nat" "Get your woman back, before someone else steals her away from you" The thought of Adelia with another man made my heart squeeze a bit. I still loved her, but I could not bring myself to forget the betrayal. I needed to take a vacation, and leave the city for a while. "I would have loved to come with you but I have other engagements, plus mama wants to see me. You should call her she is worried sick over you" "I will nat." "I will be leaving this afternoons. One of my friends is having her bachelorette and I am one of the maids of honor""That is absolutely wonderful" "I have to be on my way please take care of yourself" "I will do just that...take care of yourself too" "I will. Let me go up

CHAPTER 43

I was not expecting to see Ivan at this event, he looked so pale. I noticed he kept looking at me all through the event. And I tried my best to avoid his gaze. Even though there were lots of people in this space, I could still feel his presence and so I went out, to get fresh air. And I hoped he would not come after me. Rio overreacted by hitting Ivan, but I could have still defended him but no, I foolishly followed Rio and left him on the floor. Ivan would hate me even more. "Why did you do that??" "I was only saving you from that pervert. And you should be grateful""Grateful for what exactly?" "From saving you from the hands of a rapist"I pulled out of his grip. "That was no rapist. He was not trying to rape me""Didn't look like that to me" "Just let me be Rio" I walked away from him and went to get my stuff. I took an excuse from our boss and left for my house. I took a taxi and went home. When I got home, I lay in my bed and I could not stop thinking of Ivan. He must r

CHAPTER 44

I couldn't believe Samantha would do this to me and to think she was my best friend. I was dragged because she sold the contract to the news. How did she get it in the first place?. All this while I thought it was Veronica was the culprit but the culprit was right under my nose eating, drinking and laughing with me.I was such a fool for not suspecting anythingJesse was as shocked as I was, if I didn't check her phone yesterday I wouldn't have found out the truth about this. I wouldn't even have known she had anything to do with this. Jesse told Sam she never wants to set her eyes on her and so did I. I have been kind to her ever since we first met and I loved and treated her like my sister, I shared everything with her and all I get back is betrayal. Is this what betrayal felt like? This is worse than what I felt when I was being insulted on the net.My phone rang and Jesse was calling me. I answered it"Hello""Have you given the phone to Ivan?""Why do I have to give to phone to

CHAPTER 45

IVAN'S POVFor the weeks since I saw Adelia at that event, she had been on my mind. The nerve of that boy to walk away with my woman. I was furious at Adelia for leaving with him.I was in my office scrolling through the monthly reports. I had given the employees clear instructions not to disturb me. There was a knock on the door."These people never understand simple instructions" I thought angrily"Come in" I said grumpily"I thought I said I didn't want any disturbance" I said not lifting my head to see who it is"I didn't get that information" I knew that voice and I looked up to see the person I've been thinking about for weeks, the memories of that night came back and I was angry again."What are you doing here?" I said checking her out, my eyes linger on her breasts. I am supposed to be angry at this woman but here I was checking her out. I felt blood rush to my groin, I had not had sex since Adelia."I asked you a question. Why are you here Adelia?"I said calling her name with

CHAPTER 46

IVAN'S POVI called my private investigator Mr Louis Anterro, I called him during emergencies when I had to find out about somebody immediately or when I wanted him to look into my clients if they had any shady business or not. I needed him to quickly locate Adelia and where she was currently.I dialed his number and he picked up almost immediately" Mr Montero, how may I be of help?" He asked"Louis I need you to locate someone for me quickly""Who is that?""Adelia Katherine Cinzia, I need all information about her. Where she works, lives and her mobile phone""Is she not the woman who was on the new some months back?. Are you still involved with her?""I don't have time to answer those questions Louis. I need that information immediately" I said"I'm on it now" I heard some clicking in the background "okay. I got it, I'll forward it to you now"Thank God. What I liked about Louis is that he was efficient and the best at what he does. I trusted him enough not to say a word about thi

CHAPTER 47

IVAN'S POVDespite my apologies, Adelia refused to listen to me but there was no way I was going to give up. I would prove to her how sorry I am and make sure she believes and trusts me again. How was I so blind to the truth?" I had accused her and even said the wrong words to her even when she said she did not do it. I was very foolish. I was so restless. I kept calling her lines but she refuse to pick up her calls. I was pacing around my apartment when Andre came in. "What is the problem man?" "I have messed things up" "How?? What did you do?" "Adelia was not the one who leaked the contract" "What!!!?... who did?" "Her friend did""Wooo!! Don't tell me Jesse did that because I won't believe that" "No not Jesse... her other friend" "Samantha?" "Yes... Samantha and I are going to make sure she pays for it" "So what is Adelia saying now" "She doesn't want to forgive me for not trusting her" "Well she's right.. you gave up on her so quickly and you didn't even think twi

CHAPTER 48

IVAN'S POVThe get-together was barely over when I and Adelia left the place. I could not wait to take her home. I missed her so much and sure she missed me too. I allowed her to spend time with her family. From the way she was surprised to see them here, I feel like she hasn't gone to see them. The moment we got to the house I started kissing her and she kissed me back in return I grabbed her and carried her up to my room and in no time we were both naked. I turned to face her and held her so close to me while I admired her beautiful face. "I missed kissing your sweet lips"And then I kissed her gently and she responded."I love you Adelia more than anything and I wanted to make sure you knew that." "I love you too Ivan"I then moved my lips over hers and kissed her again, this time it was slow and deep"She responded to my kisses instantly and she pressed herself closer to me. I moaned a little I felt her softness and warmth against me, and my cock hardened almost immediately. S
