MORDECAI     I awoke with my head pounding, my limbs feeling sluggish and heavy as I tried moving. My eyes listlessly looked from the black bed sheets over to Gideon who was shaking and sweating with his back to me. He had the sheets completely tossed off him and was stripped bare. I had to work hard, but eventually was able to touch his skin with the tips of my fingers.
