It was a stormy night that fateful day. The loud rumble of thunder overhead did nothing to drown out the screams of the woman in labour. A nurse wiped at the sweat dribbling down her forehead as her breathing became even more erratic. Her legs were spread open and the doctor placed a gloved hand on her swollen stomach, encouraging her to push one more time. With all her might, the woman pushed and the cry of a new born filled the room. A smile formed on her chapped lips as joy filled her heart. I walked briskly down to the bus stop and boarded a bus. In about ten minutes, the bus halted and I got down.Outside, I took in the busy atmosphere while walking down the cobblestone pavement of the street.I quickened my pace when I spotted the small diner I worked in ahead. Pushing the glass door open, the bell chimed signalling my entrance.Inside, I spotted Nancy, my co-worker and friend on the far end corner of the shop wiping furiously at a table.Her unruly dark brown curls were swishing back and forth as she wiped the table.Chuckling, I padded on towards the staff room at the back of the counter while calling and waving in her direction.

I could hear the sound of something thumping loudly in my head, but I could'nt decipher the source of that annoying sound.Groggily, I opened my eyes, blinking rapidly as my pupils adjusted to the dim lighting of my sorrounding. The incessant thumping still continued, but this time I knew the source of it, I had a splitting headache. Slowly but calculatingly, my eyes wandered around the recesses of the room.It was illuminated by a single red bulb and it was very dainty with a little vanity in one corner and a little further was a door which inadvertantly led to my freedom.Swiftly, I swung my body down from the hard mattrass I had been laying on for God knows how long.My eyes caught the bandages around my arm.Who would have thought?, they actually dressed my wound.While on my feet, I wobbled a little as a wave of dizziness set in. Peeling my eyes open took a much greater effort than it should. Stain glass windows came into view.The array of colours in the glass casting a pinkish hue in the room, rousing a dovish feel in me.The sharp sting of pain in my jaw, kickstarted my perforated memory, causing a rush of the previous event to ram into my head all at once. I winced when I realized I had been kidnapped once again.For the first time, I took notice of the room I was in and awed at the architecture. Almost everything in the bedroom was antique. No wonder the windows were a made of stain glass.Who the hell uses stain glass windows in this era if not in a church... Or is this a castle?

A week had passed since I was forced to work at Night Owl. I had somewhat gotten used to my daily routine of waking up, having breakfast and sitting around all day doing nothing until evening, when a driver would take me to work and bring me back.Miguel had bodyguards all over the house, so there was no chance of me ever escaping.Sometimes I couldn't help but wonder what kind of business Miguel was into. I could recall that day in the rain, he shot someone, but I couldn't be sure, maybe I was hallucinating.I pulled out a business card I had been hiding and looked at it.
