“Yes” I didn't want to admit it but he had already worked it out He just watches me, I had no idea what else to say, I wasn’t going to lose him, not now, not ever, I wanted us to grow old together, to have a family and now this. Why was everything so fucked up? “What is going to happen?” “I don’t know, but you still being alive has changed everything” He cups my face with both his hands, forcing me to look at him “She may choose our mates but she does not choose our decisions” “What are you saying?” “You changed your destiny, you changed mine, you have changed everyone’s” “Daryl you are still not making any sense” “Your parents destiny was to die, you were supposed to as well but Lucian got you out although not for the right reasons, every decision you have made since is changing the timeline because you are not what the Moon Goddess expected” Blinking several times whilst he continued to hold my face, I begin t

Mia stumbles in, barely able to stand up straight, a bottle of drink in one hand, and what looks to be the head of a human tucked under her other arm“You wanted me oh mighty one?”“Mia are you drunk?”“So what if I am Auntie, what are you going to do about it?” She tries to prod me in the chest but misses and stumbles into the deskThe head was currently the least of my worries as Mia continues wobbling around spilling the drinkDaryl steadily walks towards her and manages to rip the bottle from her hand, he sniffs it and screws up his nose “Rum”"Hey, thats mine"Mia continues to stagger around and tries to grab the bottle from Daryl but with each miss she grows more and more annoyed until she finally leans against the wall giving up. She doesn’t stay upright for very long and falls to her side, crashing onto the floor with a heavy thud.Neither Daryl or I wanted to help h

“That was what he offered her”He completely missed what I had said, “Daryl, she wanted me to go with her”“But your place is here”“That is not what I am saying Daryl”He frowns at me, his eyebrows almost knitting together and I laugh as his eyes widen at the realisation of my words.“She’s in love with you” he exclaimsI shrug my shoulders “She said something about me screwing up by killing Christian”“That was always your plan though, the only way to end the war”“Something is wrong Daryl, she complained about her children not being right. She knew about Rudy all along, she knew the girls had human mates. Why didn’t she tell me?”His arms slide around my waist “Relax, there is always a reason for everything”I turn in his arms to face him “How can you be so calm. She thought you couldn&r

The warriors brought us Tasha’s headless body, the girls break down as soon as they see her and whilst my heart was being stabbed, I kept a straight face as we buried her, I had to stay strong for everyone in my pack especially now and with the growing concern over the hunters, but as soon as I am alone with Daryl, I too break down.I spend the night curled up against Daryl’s warm body, in and out of sleep, he doesn’t talk, he just listens, listens as I cry, as I rant and even when I make no sense but he stays consistent with his hand running through my dark hair whilst holding me tight with his other arm.“Daryl they have to pay”“They will, but I thought you always wanted us and humans to live peacefully together”“I do, I did, but how when they are purposely trying to take us out. We don’t hunt their kind, blood is taken from human prisoners, why do they keep coming for us?”"You have t

“DROP HER” Jax calls out to his people“But she is one of them”“I don’t care, now drop her. I am certain she will come willingly”“How can you be so sure? That other girl put up one hell of a fight”Mia, they were talking about Mia. But how could Jax be here, I was certain that he was dead and so was Daryl but as I was slowly lowered to the ground, his blonde curls were a definite give away, although they were now shoulder length and had dropped into more of a wave, making me think of a surfer. The silver rope was loosened and I crash to the ground, as soon as I get to my feet I go for Jax, he had put me through hell.Within inches of him, the silver rope tightens around my leg, holding me back and I snarl as once again it starts burning my flesh“How the fuck are you still alive? You are one…”He cuts me off “Oh Ashley, what an interesting place to
