Lahat ng Kabanata ng Never Again: Kabanata 31 - Kabanata 40

Work on a Sunday – boring!A night without Albert – boring!Mr. Maurice's class – boring!I stared at the board while Mr. Maurice discussed a new lesson. The three of us, Jane, Ed and I were late for the class, while Albert and Diana were absent. We were all feeling the same thing, and when we sighed all together, we almost chuckled. I pressed my lips right away and focused my attention on the book in front of me.When Mr. Maurice dismissed the class, I groaned, as I hate the next class. Who would like to have a dance class without a partner?"I brought you shoes," Jane grinned as she whispered to me her news.I sighed, "Why do we need to dress up again?" I was almost complaining as I gather my things. We had to wear a gown and high-heeled shoes for our dance class today."Come on, I'm excited already," Jane beamed, "We'll be doing waltz today," she said.I sneered. She was excited because she has a partner, a

The midnight blue chiffon evening dress was waving at me since I entered my room. I know I have plenty of time, but Jane kept on pressuring me to wear the dress because I did not try to fit it this morning. One helpful thing that Albert did, unlike Jane's bedroom, was there was no single mirror in my room. He asked Dani personally to take the mirror away, teasing him that I was scared of my own ugly reflection.I started undressing and wore the evening gown. Suddenly, I regret not having a mirror to see how nice it looked on me. The seamstress surely got my exact body measurement because the heart-shaped empire bust design enhanced my chest. I felt the layer of the dress and thought how fast they were in making it. There were light pleats along with the long dress and the blue chiffon fabric highlights my figure. The design was simple but elegant.I heard the creaked of my bedroom door opening."Jane, can you please zip this," I said, gathering my long ha

Pretend nothing happened. I said that to myself many times.I was fidgeting and I can't help but worry. I was at the corner of the grand door of the hall, waiting. This event was making me weary and crazy, and I wondered how they bear with it, although Albert's family seldom host events.Rachel, his sister, shared that they mostly attend rather than host events, and if they did, they would do it twice a year, and this year would be the third. She even told me, Albert never wanted to celebrate his birthday grand. This year would be an exemption. I was worried because I make one mistake, I will be the headline in tomorrow's news, maybe forever. No one has seen me, not even Jane when I changed to the ball gown Little Charlie requested from Lila, the family seamstress. She showed me the original drawing, and it was cute. I really couldn't believe they had to make the gown as enormous as his drawing knowing a five-year-old child draw it, but she ex

"So, you're trying to imply that something is strange because I change my mind about almost everything?"Ed nodded. We moved our heads closer to Albert."And I am doing all these because I am protecting Selene from something?" Albert tried to confirm if he heard it right. We nodded all together."And... you think no one has to know what's gonna happen next?" He whispered. Our eyes widen as we wait for the next words he will say, but he burst into laughter. He pulled the chair beside me and sat down."What are you trying to say?" said Albert, as he propped his elbow on the table and stared at us. "Oh, come on, I just wanted to enjoy my birthday with you. You know I never enjoy parties like that. I could hardly breathe wearing layers of clothes, and you should know that girls."Jane rolled her eyes, "I told you, that's crazy." she muttered, sneering at Ed.I pat Ed's hands, still on the table. "Don't worry, Ed. I'm on your side.

Welcome to paradise! Those words echoed to my mind as we walked near the water holding hands. Only if the moon was in the sky, it would have been perfect."Do you want to see magic, my love?" Albert asked as he turned me to him. I could only nod.He stood behind me, and put his arms on my shoulders, and pushed me closer to him. Indeed, it was like magic as I realize that lighting small trees were fireflies, making them looked like Christmas trees. My lips parted in surprise. It was so beautiful. My eyes welled with tears, and I started to sniff. Why was Albert making it difficult for me? I just have this intuition that one day I would wake up in my real timeline, and this dream he was creating for me makes my heart ached over and over again.I faced Albert and embraced him. This time, I sobbed."Hey," he said, moving away from me, and cupping my cheeks. "What's wrong, love?"I shook my head, "It's just so beautiful
